Good day to you all and welcome to my diary for this Wedding Gelato strain by Royal Queen Seeds. So as you can see leaves are a bit burnt and curled up, to look at it some people may worry that something is wrong but all is fine, it was just a couple of drops of condensation that fell from my home made bio dome to increase humidity as I am struggling in this summer heat. The soil is Canna Coco Pro Plus with Perlite. I gave it some Canna Rhitzotonic and Cannazym and a very weak dose of 1ml A&B per 1l of water. It looks to have taken it well as I have taken off the bio-dome and it looks like it is flourishing. This is such a beautiful smoke, smooth, hard hitting, but not too heavy and with rich full flavoured terpenes reminiscent of fruity caramel with earthy tones. I guarantee you, this will not disappoint you.
So I have upped to feed slightly as this plant is a beast, very tough and hardy, it is coming along nicely now. I have topped it at the third node so can't wait for a bit more growth so I can start pinning it out.
One thing I have noticed about the Wedding Gelato is that is does seem to grow at a faster rate than my other plants. I burnt the leaves with feed solution but they got cut anyway as they were in the way. So I just need to get some more growth on it so I can pin it down so the leaves are not obstructing each other so badly.
So this has had a good week, from looking a bit straggly to now looking like it got some inner growth which is what I wanted. It is still by far the more lively grower and it is overtaking my Green Gelato which was only a couple of days behind.
Just plodding along at this stage, trimming and pinning back is working nicely. I dropped the Canna Rhizotonic and the PH Down as somehow my tap water ph has changed so that is actually good for me as I don't have to mess around so much. I upped the feed slightly also and will continue with that in the coming weeks.
It has been a tough couple of weeks with the high temps but it is cooling down a bit now which makes things easier. So just keeping up with the pinning back of the branches and it won't be too long now till I have the width I want then flower time 😎 It seems to fill out really quickly, one minute it looks bare then a day or 2 later and it bounces back strong.
This grows so fast, I'm trimming it all the time and it's just bouncing back nicely. Getting it pinned out to a nice width now so it won't be long for it to be put to flower. I've upped the feed and that is going fine, no real problems to report.
So I've kept the feed as it is seeing as the plant is liking it nicely I won't over do it. Just keeping on trimming it and opening it up and will probably get it defoliated a bit more in prep for the switch to flower.
So I am running out of space and the plant is looking fine, I will be having to consider topping it again I think as I'm waiting for a new light due to my ballast breaking down so I'm having to veg it for a few more weeks.
So this one has grown a bit and some of the top leaves were closing up so I have moved the light a bit and it is much better now. This one is really thirsty for nutrients, I feed it the same as the others but it really looks like it wants more but being this close to switching over I think I will keep it as it is for now with the nutrients.
So just winding up the last few days of veg time for this one. Giving a pretty severe trimming before the switch, this will open it up to get more light to the lower nodes.
So it is that time again and the flowering begins, my favourite time. So I gave it one last feed of veg nutes and will start using flowering nutes in a week. This is such a lovely smoke, can't wait to get this harvested.
This is a lovely looking plant, no problems with it at all, the key is good soil and nutrients. Starting to see some nice flowers now, quite an even spread but I always worry if I have cut too much when trying to thin out the leaves blocking lower nodes but it looks ok to me for this one.
I really love the look of this Wedding Gelato, some nice colours on it. Keeping the feed as it is, no problems to report at all and the buds are fattening up nicely.
So no pics for this week as I moved house and had to transfer 7 plants to the new location, everything went smoothly but I havent got my room set up complete yet. Normal pics to resume for next week.
So a tough week for the Wedding Gelato, had to keep them out the ways for the past week due to house inspectors in my new place, they don't look like they have done too bad but the stress of moving is deffo going to affect yield. other than that no problems. Will probably feed for another week or so and then begin flushing.
This Wedding Gelato looks really frosty, lots of trichomes shining 😁 Buds are fattening up nicely and they feel really dense and tight, also the smell is so nice, very sweet diesel citrus scent. This had one last feed and I have already started flush so only a couple of weeks left to go now.
Such a pretty plant, it was really easy to grow, nice and healthy throughout, responds well to topping and trimming. If you haven't grown this one yet then I would say you should put it top of your list for your next grow. The smoke is just so nice and tasty, very flavoursome with sweet citrus like flavour and it gets you smashed. 😁
