Week of July 28-aug 3 Aug 1 So I had a massive mold scare earlier this week. Humidity in the tent and outside was way too high. Smelled of mold/mildew in the tent. I was ready to throw out the lot of em. The sour diesel had lots of foliage and I felt like this was the issue. pruned the shit out of it to allow air in the canopies- ended up doing the same on all 3. Has been ok but today I smelled a bit more - I’ve got them in the den during the 12 hour dark, fan running to dry them out. During the mold scare, here’s what I did: -Immediate evacuation of plants into the living room AC for a while, scrub down the tent with hydrogen peroxide -misted the 3 plants leaves and buds with diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide in water - seemed to help - then today I smelled faint mold again. No visible signs of any issues. Gonna spray them again before lights on. Sorry if this is tough to follow.

Thoughts on how far away I am from harvest? I see amber hairs on sigmas, but not sure what that means. I think 3-4 weeks from harvest, but don’t know what to look for exactly other than clear pistils Any idea?

Well firstly , when to harvest is a matter of preferences with a few guide lines . You don't wanna be harvesting when your plant still has mostly clear trichomes , this will give you poor quality "stone". You typically wanna wait until most of the trichomes are milky/cloudy accompanied by some amber ones my prefered ratio is 80 milky 20 amber . Moving on to some of the signs that your plant is ready for harvest . Your plant will give you signs when its nearing the end of its life cycle you will notice that your plant will stop pumping out calyx hairs , she will slow in the swelling of the flowers , leaves will turn yellow or different colours for seemingly nothing . These are a few of the signs you can look for to ensure that your going to get maximum yield and potency as well . Another simple way to ensure your plants are done before you harvest them is to check your seed banks recommended flowering time and add 2 weeks to that time . I say this because often times plants wont be ready in the ammount of time they say , yes you could cut them down on the day they suggest and still get good bud , but to get even better product from it I usually give it 1 - 2 weeks longer . Another reason I say this is because most of us can't replicate the exact exact enviroment that the breeder made their seeds so that leads to extra time often in grows. Lastly , you can get tools that will help you look at your trichomes on your plant to better help you determine when you wanna harvest exactly , these tools are common and can be found in a variety of places such as Amazon , Wal mart , Camera shops , Grow shops , Ebay , the tools are a "Portable Microscope" and "micro lense" both of these tools are inexpensive and will greatly help in the department of determaning when your plants are ready by allowing you to see the plants trichomes up close and personal so you can see if they are clear , milky/cloudy or amber . Other then that there isnt really much else to discuss on this topic I hope the information provided helps you on your journey to becoming a Grow Master !! -Happy Growing!

@vicisdope, we all have our moments lol. I usually start making mistakes when I have too many plants at different stages. Hard to keep up. I do better when I just focus on one. But hey....whats the fun in that?

@Wicked_Stix, absolutely I will, thanks so much! I gotta admit - I was getting a little cocky there as they were doing so well, but I’ve come across a couple problems (mold smell being the worst) and it’s put me in check lol. for a ‘weed’, they’re prissy little buggers!

@Cannibalgardens, all is looking well - I’ve got a vertical fan blowing in the tent, hydrogen peroxide misted At lights on and off, plus defoliation, and I think we’re back on track!

@The_Projexx, thanks so much for the in depth review- very concise! I didn’t even think to go back to the breeder’s timeline - such a good tip! And wow, you got your grow game on point. I’m gonna spend quite a while going over your journals! Much appreciated!

I would say 3-4 weeks sounds about right, possible more. You want to see all those hairs (pistils) go amber and recede in. Really the best way to tell is with a jewlers loupe, they can be picked up quite cheaply online. All trichomes should be cloudy with a percentage of them amber depending on personal preference. Some more detail on this can be found in this link https://www.growweedeasy.com/harvest#trichome-method Plants are looking great!

@paulsgrows, thanks for confirming the timeframe, I’m terrible at keeping track of the stages! I tried an iPhone magnifying attachment but it’s not good enough - jeweler’ loupe it is! Thank you!
