ODNTrick Very late to be planting a photoperiod plant. I’m hoping to get a male and freeze the pollen till next year and fertilize a feminized version of this cross. If it’s a girl at least I’ll find out if I can bring thisvariety to harvest. We have long warm autumns here but I’ll have to take precautions if it goes into November. Anyway, I had an open pot and just thought to try it. My autos should be done before pollen stars flying.

ODNTrick Nice growth. I don’t expect it will be a very big plant started this late, but we will see. I’m just very curious about this one.
Hope it’s a boy!

ODNTrick Just popping out the 7th node. Good week of full sun and a light feeding of some compost tea and molasses. Impressed with the early branching. Hoping for some good growth before shorter days arrive. It’s fun to watch it grow.

ODNTrick Growing super well. Gave some molasses and kelp. The pot has an ample supply of bone meal and blood meal so I’m not concerned about nutrients... yet. It is a very supple willowy plant and winds here can be vicious going into late summer and worse in the fall so decided to start training. Video shows how even a modest breeze blows those thin leaves around.

ODNTrick Still doing very little for this plant. Weather is a little cooler and the shorter August days have started some preflowers. I am hoping for a male to collect and freeze pollen from, but I’m not good enough to tell yet. I think it looks promising though!😀

ODNTrick Propane? Funky cabbage gas? Did something crawl into my garden and die? No wait! It’s sweet like jonquils or pansy just stronger. Whatever it is it’s coming from my Honduras X Panama and it’s getting stronger.
Still can’t tell from preflowers if it male or female but it is growing well and branching profusely with the LST.
Gave some compost tea, kelp and molasses. It loves the very temperate days and nights we are into now.

ODNTrick Hmm, aphids and.... PISTILS! Guess I’m not getting my pollen after all...sigh. LOL. The consolation prize will be fun though!
Whacked the aphids with some insecticidal soap. Will have to come up with a shelter plan cuz this will go into November I guess. Whatever. I’m just doin’ a happy dance.

ODNTrick Well that sucks. Guess it’s the end of the diary. I don’t Want pollen from a herm . It’s too bad though cuz it is starting to smell amazing and I just love those slender leaves. Thanks for reading... there’s always next year.
