Wicked_Stix Time to make some autoflower seeds! First had to make a colloidal silver generator. I used an old wall charger that is 8.4 volts, 2 6" pieces of .999 silver wire, and a cut piece of plastic lid. Poked 2 holes in the lid and attached the wire to the charger with some hot glue. Simple as that. Generator is done.
Filled a glass jar with distilled water placed the generator on top and plug it in. The wires get build up on them so wiped them off a few times a day. Let it run for 48 hours. Got a dark amber colloidal silver that is ready to use. Light makes the silver fall out of the solution so I used a light proof spray bottle to store it.
Took some clones off of 2 different pheno autoflowers that had just entered flower. Too late in flower and it wont work. I put the clones under a 23w cfl. I dont want too much light because they have to be wet most the time. Immediately started misting the clones 3 to 4x a day with the silver. Misting the whole clone pretty heavy. Just going to spray, spray, spray.

Wicked_Stix 22 looong days of misting the clones and we have pollen sacs. Nice little sacs starting to open up and show those bananas. I turned this girl into a boy!! I originally planned to collect the pollen and pollinate a few buds of the mother plant but some of these clones have some beautiful fresh white pistils looking for some action so I dont see a point of risking ruining the buds on her. I will just let the pollen drop and dust all the clones. Now I just have to keep them alive until they do their thing.

Wicked_Stix Not much else going on with these so far several pods have opened up and the little bananas are everywhere. I have not seen any pollen drop yet though. I remember the pods being much more yellow than these when they open up so I am not sure if these are false pollen sacs? I am just going to continue monitoring them and see if they start dropping any pollen.

Wicked_Stix I moved them outside at the first sight of dropped pollen. Water kills pollen on contact so I sprayed the cabinet they were in and the entire surrounding area so we dont get any unauthorized reproduction going on around here. Got a lot of pollen dropping now and I have spotted at least 10 seeds developing. Just going to let them grow until they either die or I see a lot of mature seeds.

Wicked_Stix Well it looks like some of the seeds are starting to turn brown and they are nice and plump. Still looks like at least 20 seeds. This has been more of an experiment to see how well autos react to colloidal silver treatment but with a value of $10 a seed it was definitely worth the effort. Would be just as easy to make hundreds of seeds. I was able to save the genetics of 2 different phenos which is always nice. I am thinking these will be ready to harvest in a week or so. Hopefully nothing eats them between now and then.

Wicked_Stix Pollen production has slowed down and the seeds are ripening up. I think they will be ready in about a week. Just been keeping them outside in the shade and giving them plain water.
Harvested 19 seeds. There are a few more that are not mature yet. I would definitely recommend using 2 whole plants rather than clones to make seeds so you get a lot more out of the same amount of work. But autoflowers seem to react pretty well to colloidal silver. I will dry the seeds for a couple weeks then they will be ready to sprout.

Wicked_Stix Was an easy way to make femenized autoflower seeds. Just takes some patience.
Hey there! Kinda a deeper question for you. You are budding plants for smoke, while also having one dumping pollen on itself. In theory all it takes is a fly to land on some pollen and then transport it to another plant, or an adjacent grow area... Or for some pollen to stick to your clothing and fall off over another budding plant. How do you keep that from happening?
@Jwjoh, I keep the pollen clones outside and wash my hands and arms off after being around them but yeah there is always a risk of pollinating another grow. No way to be 100% on that.
@Wicked_Stix, ah nice! I'll keep that in mind. I'm following this closely as I want to do the same some day. I feel like it'd be easier to just have a bunch of seeds than have to make clones all the time, ya know?! Plus then you're always 1st generation.
I'm always paranoid and clean up when I've been outside and then need to open my indoor tent. Who knows what kind of bugs, fungus, etc you're gonna drag in!
thanks for documenting this, this is exactly what I'm planning on doing this run but haven't seen a decent run through of the process so I appreciate the work! 🙏✊
