Having a few really nice warm sunny days this week and have started sun hunting around the garden with the girls to get them as much light as possible. Some of them are still going slow, but a few have kicked into gear and are looking good.
Sprayed my greenhouse with Pyrol when I took the pots out to try to get rid of the ants and fungus gnats and seems to have worked well. There are almost none anymore besides one or 2 that were hiding in my pots.
First foliar feed with a light fish mix on top of the regular watering that I'm doing every 2 days now that it's warming up.
Adding MicroLife to one feed a week and a light BioGrow and Fish Mix to every feed.
Some plants started stretching between the cotyledons and first set of leaves, so hopefully the warmer & more sunny days will stop that.
Day 21 Update
The Dubai Poison seems to be in serious slow mo and the Purple Glam Kush is not far ahead.
The Cocopopo was also going really slow, but seems to have picked up speed in the last few days.
The AK-77V had some issues with the base of the stem and it was weak and starting to fall over, so I pushed a bit more soil around it to help support it. Heard that's possibly from temperature fluctuation, which would make sense because we had some days that were 10°C warmer than last week.
Tangie'matic is making some progress, but still stretching quite a lot.
Lavender Best is doing well and stretching a bit, but nothing too bad.
I'm most happy with the Guerilla Glue and Devil's Kiss. They're both pushing out big luscious leaves and growing well despite not getting much light and being quite cold still.
I wanted to do the autos a little early for the outdoor season here to see if it was worth it.
I wasn't expecting them to go too quickly or get massive yields, I just hope some of them wake up a bit so I get something from them to try and see if I like the flavours and see if I want to add any to future grows. I have seen some peoples autos veg for 5 or 6 weeks outdoors, so hopefully the cold just slows them down a bit and I have another 3 weeks before they start to flower...🙏
Seeing how slowly they're going has made me keen to close the greenhouse up a bit to keep some warmth in and get some lights to add a few hours to their day if I do early runs like this again.
@Ganjagardenner, Yeah, adding till burn was just trying to find out where their limits are with the mixes I'm giving them, but like you say, the balance is more important than amounts. At least now I know what too much is and can now work on more micro elements to keep everything in balance. Been playing with foliar feeding on my winter crop and they seem to love it, so will keep the soil feeding lower and add some more foliar once a week. Lots of little experiments and dialing things in. Pretty much just pushing them to the extremes so I can see what happens when they are not happy... like you said, mistakes make experience, so if I stay careful I won't learn much, but by purposely making mistakes I learn way more and if I can see where the see saw hits the ground either side, balancing it should be easier. 😉
It's so awesome that almost everything we learn with weed translates to the rest of the garden. It's making me want to get into growing veggies again.
Thanks! Happy growing to you too! ✊
@Shinsimilla, for sure! ‘Experience‘ is the name given to our mistakes! I like the idea of adding nutes until burn, but all the micro and macro elements are in such an equilibrium It’s hard to actually think which is the issue. Guess that’s the green thumb element of understanding the plants. I do a lot of other gardening also and the techniques usually transfer over so it’s great fun all the time. Happy growing dude!
@Ganjagardenner, nice. Yeah, everyone's system and environment is different and there is almost never only 1 solution, so make the experimenting more fun.
Cool to see how everyone solves their issues differently and end up with good results. I pushed mine to nute burn to see how much they can take, so stay below that now.
There are lots of right ways, but finding lots of wrong ways on the way and that's almost more important :P
@Fast_Buds, Thank you!
The Tangie'matic is definitely in the lead of the first few am super happy with her so far!
I have an LSD-25, Zkittlez and Mexican Airlines that just popped out the soil and will start day one tomorrow.
Looking forward to smell & taste them. Is a bit early in the season, so probably wont get a crazy yield, but that won't stop the terps! haha
@Shinsimilla, ha well I'm a newbie grower but I can tell there's a fair bit of talent and a fair bit of experience gone into these it's really good ! 🚀
@CRiSPrGrow, coming from you that is even more of a compliment, thank you!
Combining my job/passion with another passion that has recently been legalised here, so loving it!
Thanks for the follow 🙏
