So we started off the week with a couple of nice sunny days and then had 44.6C, 39.6C and 39.9C, so they got very thirsty and was shade hunting mid day instead of looking for sun.
They all handled it well & made quite a bit of progress. I put them in saucers with a little water in so they could pull it up if needed, but only left them in for around an hour at a time, then let them drain and switched plants, so not quite sure how much they drank in the heat, but averaged out with the rest of the week it was around 500ml a day.
Also did a light defoliation and have some nice garnish in the fridge to add to my meals.
Feeding has been a bit all over the place with all the plants in different stages.
Some I'm feeding Fish Mix and Bio-Grow and others that and a little bloom and starting to switch some over to bloom only.
Also gave them an epsom salt mix. 1 Tablespoon in 5l
Looks like there are still a few weeks left before they're done, so will keep feeding for a bit before I flush.
Some of them are flowering nicely and starting to let off a few smells and producing some trichomes.
I can see the buds on the Tangie'Matic and Guerilla Glue bulk up day by day.
I've also been drying and crushing eggshells for some Calmag and added some today.
The plants are not big, which I expected, but hope that what is there gives me a few nice nugs!
@Ganjagardenner, Yeah, adding till burn was just trying to find out where their limits are with the mixes I'm giving them, but like you say, the balance is more important than amounts. At least now I know what too much is and can now work on more micro elements to keep everything in balance. Been playing with foliar feeding on my winter crop and they seem to love it, so will keep the soil feeding lower and add some more foliar once a week. Lots of little experiments and dialing things in. Pretty much just pushing them to the extremes so I can see what happens when they are not happy... like you said, mistakes make experience, so if I stay careful I won't learn much, but by purposely making mistakes I learn way more and if I can see where the see saw hits the ground either side, balancing it should be easier. 😉
It's so awesome that almost everything we learn with weed translates to the rest of the garden. It's making me want to get into growing veggies again.
Thanks! Happy growing to you too! ✊
@Shinsimilla, for sure! ‘Experience‘ is the name given to our mistakes! I like the idea of adding nutes until burn, but all the micro and macro elements are in such an equilibrium It’s hard to actually think which is the issue. Guess that’s the green thumb element of understanding the plants. I do a lot of other gardening also and the techniques usually transfer over so it’s great fun all the time. Happy growing dude!
@Ganjagardenner, nice. Yeah, everyone's system and environment is different and there is almost never only 1 solution, so make the experimenting more fun.
Cool to see how everyone solves their issues differently and end up with good results. I pushed mine to nute burn to see how much they can take, so stay below that now.
There are lots of right ways, but finding lots of wrong ways on the way and that's almost more important :P
@Fast_Buds, Thank you!
The Tangie'matic is definitely in the lead of the first few am super happy with her so far!
I have an LSD-25, Zkittlez and Mexican Airlines that just popped out the soil and will start day one tomorrow.
Looking forward to smell & taste them. Is a bit early in the season, so probably wont get a crazy yield, but that won't stop the terps! haha
@Shinsimilla, ha well I'm a newbie grower but I can tell there's a fair bit of talent and a fair bit of experience gone into these it's really good ! 🚀
@CRiSPrGrow, coming from you that is even more of a compliment, thank you!
Combining my job/passion with another passion that has recently been legalised here, so loving it!
Thanks for the follow 🙏
