Got 7 unknown crosses from a previous batch of hermie.
Gorilla glue auto was the first hermie from fast buds, which pollinated either itself or girl scout cookies from fast buds or short sweet (an auto version of white widow from heavyweight seeds).
2 are in 15L pots of soil and doing very well with multiple heads. About 10 heads each and they are both about 6 weeks old. Just about to hit flowering.
3 are little bonsai plants in 2L deep rose pots. They've stayed mini as fuck but just wanted to see what the offspring would be like and get some variety. Plus they fit in spaces between other pots. Also 5-6 weeks old.
2 are in a DIY Dwc system made with a fish tank and air pump. They are not doing too bad reached about 1-1.5 ft but they've been out of direct light the whole time. and also were pulled out of soil and previously had heat stress. Expecting maybe an Oz off each if lucky.
I have 3 auto purple skunk mass from critical mass collective. They grew tall about 3ft. But only have one main cola with all the sides only reaching half way up the plant.
1 mutant 2 fast 2 vast. Can grow no stems its just a small fat bud.
So the 3 single tall cola plants are approaching maturity I think. Getting to week 8 start. They aren't increasing much in size. They are auto purple skunk mass.
The gorilla glue crosses are all starting to fully bloom. I feel they are going to come on hard and start swelling up. Been defoliating shit loads of fan leaves all over the tent to increase light penetration.
Update. Not week 10 but I can't help it.
Week 9 for the 3 tall auto purple skunk mass and small mutant 2 fast 2 vast who could grow no stem.
Week 7-8 for all others ( gorilla glue * gsc * auto widow unknown crosses).
The buds are developing nicely all over. Even on the 3 bonsai plants in 2L rose pots.
Thin mint girl cut cookies smelling one is really frosty. Wish it wasn't a bonsai in small pot.! Very nice gorilla cookies.
Auto purple skunk mass has occasional hints of purple on 1 plant. 2 fast 2 Vast is deep purple with some pinks.
Great mix of smells all over. First generation crosses have nice variation.
2 dwc plants in fish tank developing fat buds too. Smell earthy more like gorilla's.
Added 15% uvb reptile bulb over some of them. Small CFL. Will see how they frost.
Last week or 2 for them all!
OK so week 11 of the grow now.
Chopped the 3 big auto purple skunk mass.
They are now hanging for the dry. Overall they look about 2 maybe 2.5 ounces on each one.
The buds are chunky and dense, nice unique aroma to them too. Smells of musky grape, lavender and hints of licorice. There was one that spent a couple of weeks under a 15% desert UVB reptile bulb. The one that went under UV is noticeably more frosty, sticky and smelly compared to the other two.
Also chopped the 3 bonsai gorilla cookies cross breed plants which I had in 2L pots. They all seem to have produced a reasonable amount. I guess between 7-14g dry on them. They are extremely sticky and frosty. One smells like the thin mint girl scout cookies phenotype. Another smells like regular girl scout cookies, and the third smells more earthy like gorilla glue.
Thanks. The base nutes are vitalink hydromax grow for veg and hydromax bloom for flower. I thought the low pH of hydro nutes would be a problem in soil, but it actually has been fine. Doesn't seem to be an issue at all.
Think I'll take the 3 tall auto purple skunk mass to 9 weeks (2 more).
The remaining gorilla crosses probably to week 9 or 10 (3 or 4 more weeks). They are all a week behind the purple skunk mass and it seems longer life strains too.
Thanks guys :) Yeah I think vitalink nutes are pretty decent! Doing a good job so far. Been using plant magic platinum PK booster with it. and also some bat guano then bubbling an air stone in the mixture.
Started feeding the purple skunk mass with plain water now. The rest of them are gorilla crosses who are still a couple weeks behind. So still feeding those bloom nutes and they seem to be fattening up now too.
Start of week 9 for x3 tall auto purple skunk mass. Start of week 7-7.5 for most of those gorilla crosses.
Also removed a lot of fan leaves by this point. They don't seem to be stressed by it at all really. They just carry on growing.
And since they weren't LSTed at all, this has allowed those side branches to really develop. Been trying to get fan leaves off every couple of weeks, letting strong direct light to as many buds and bud leaves as possible.
It's also great having such a variety of smells in there. There are 3 mini, 2 medium and 2 big so 7 different plants, from my last hermie situation in my previous tent.
They are a random mix of GG auto, GSC auto and Heavy weight short sweet. Some good variation in the batch from 1st generation crosses. Some smell like cookies, some like the glue and some completely different to any of the parents :P
I just ordered a desert reptile CFL Bulb (26 watt, 15% UVb), to try and drive up THC and trichome production in the last 1-2 weeks of these girls lives.
Will put this on a 10-12 hour on cycle, probably just above the purple skunk for their last week, followed by the gorillas for their last week. Will be placed probably 12-18inch above the canopy.
I've heard UVb light can increase thc by anywhere from 3-28% in different places. So I'll give it a try. One thing is for sure, all of the tiny amount of UVb given off by the 600w HPS is currently being filtered out by the glass on my cool tube. So let's add some back in!
Lighting In veg was 400w draw led. Not enough for them all really. So could have had bigger plants but it's okay.
In flowering I've got 600w HPS in Cool tube along with the 400w draw led so 1000w total.
During veg I used roots excelurator, superthrive, Voodoo juice, and molasses. With very small amounts of hydroponic veg nutes every now and again.
During flower just using very small amount of bat guano, with a small amount of plant magic platinum (PK booster) alongside half strength hydroponic bloom nutes. Always give plain water every other day.
