My first grow diary!
My equipment:
Gorilla Lite 4x4 tent
(2) HLG 260w XL grow lights
3 gallon air pots
Royal Gold Tupur medium
Exhale CO2 bag
AC Infiniti T6 in-line fan
PPFD
Early Veg 200-300
Late Veg 500-600
Early Flower 800-900
Late Flower 1100-1200
I plan on feeding two to three times per day. I used Botanicare Seaplex as my base nutrients for the first 9 days. After that I replaced the seaplex with Advanced Nutrients Sensi Coco. I fed nutrients once per day or twice if the first 1/4” of coco was dry in the evening until day 10 when I went to 2-3 times. I’m going off of a ppm schedule. I have also made a liter of foliar spray with 2ml seaweed and 1ml of silica. I’ll foliar spray for the first 2 weeks or so or until I increase my average PPFD past 500. I am also rotating the plants 90deg every day to avoid stretching. Hopefully I can get my goal of 1.2 grams per watt. I will have 570 watts total. Thank you everyone that keeps up with my grow. I’ve searched many on here even though I’ve just now joined the group.
Getting used to this royal gold coco. Beginning to feed three times per day. Started grow nutes on day 11. I also added my 2nd light on day 9 and increased lamp height to 36”.
Had an issue on day 14 with a faulty ph pen. Knew about it the night before. Increased nutes and got the run off to the correct ph and ppm I wanted. ppm is now at 400 entering week 3.
Week 3 has begun. Getting very fast growth. Just about done from recovering from a ph pen malfunction. New ph pen from blue lab is in and it’s a massive upgrade. I’ve increased my PPM on calmag to 250 and my base nute to 200.
We’ve made it to week 4. Very happy with the grow so far. Only issue was my ph pen malfunction that we’ve seemed to have recovered from. I tried 700 ppm the first day and decided it was too much so backed down to 600. For now with the tupur medium I’ve been feeding twice per day but I do anticipate having to go to 3 maybe 4 times per day soon.
Day 27 update - Noticed some nitrogen deficiencies so bumped the ppm up to 800. I had bumped to 700 around day 25.
Day 28 update - went ahead and added Advanced Nutrients Bud Ignitor to get flower kickstarted. Also gave her a nice preventative maintenance with a Green Cleaner foliar spray
I’ve been fighting humidity all week. The house is around 60 and although that’s fine and dandy the second the lights go out it’s spiking in the tent. To fight the problem I’ve opened up a side vent in the tent and placed a dehumidifier next to the vent with the humidistat inside the tent to maintain humidity inside the tent.
Day 29 update
Did some more defoliation and switched to week 1 of flower nutrients. I blended the grow and bloom nutes at 40% strength and went full strength on my supplements. At 800 ppm. They have demanded a higher then typical ppm and have really thick stalks because of it. The node spacing has gone from extremely close to stretching a bit. My current PPFD at the center is around 600. My CO2 meter comes in later today and the plan is to bump them to 800 then allowing them to grow themselves to 1100 as long as the CO2 reading is above 800.
Day 35 update
Did the last major defoliation today. I’ve been doing LST all week and am very happy with my results. The plants want to get droopy every evening around 2 hours before the lights go out. I believe it’s circadian rhythm so I’ve decreased the amount of light to 18/6 from 20/4. I’ll know soon if this is the issue. I’m learning as I go and believe I’ve gone from the cusp of too much ppm to to little very quickly. Tomorrow I’ll mix up a higher ppm feed in the 900 range. I also lowered the light to 18” from the canopy. I’ll continue to adjust it to maintain around a 1100 PPFD rating in the center.
My stalk is massive and is splitting off into many solid bud sites without topping.
Very happy with my grow so far.
Starting week 2 of flower. Excellent growth so far with just LST. Slowly getting them acclimated to the increased light load. I’m still having issues with the leafs dropping in the late evening. I’ve reduced the light load from 20/4 to 18/6. Still getting droopy around 2 hours before lights out so it’s probably because I feed 5 hours after the lights go on. They easily drink close to 2 liters of feed/water per day. They will get 1 more week worth of foliar spray comprised of 2ml seaplex by botanicare and 1ml B52 in 1 liter of ro water every evening.
Day 37 update
Nitrogen deficient so boosted ppm in reservoir 100 ppm. Around 975 or so. Probably will need more.
Day 39 update
Increased Terpinator to 20ml per gallon and increased the ppm to 1050.
Day 40 update
Increased ppm to 1200. Apparently I’ve been quite behind this plant on nitrogen and realized a little later then I’d like to have. I’m anticipating being at 1400 within a few days.
After a rough week 2 of flower with deficiencies we have made it to week 3. She’s still not as green as I would like but we are making progress. I’ve bumped the ppm up to 1400 and am anticipating only a 7 week flower cycle for her.
Day 45 update
Still at 1400 ppm but appears I need to go up to 15 or 1600. I’ll make a decision tomorrow and bump her up. Got about 1” of growth last night and everything is perky now from lights on to about 1 hour before lights off. Bud sites are developing very well.
Day 46 update
Raised the ppm to 1550.
Day 48 update
Couple of plants are showing slight light burn so raised them 2”.
Beginning of week 4 of flower. It’s been a journey to get here. I’ll update more as the week goes on but ppm at 1550-1650.
Grow update day 56
A little nute burn. Was planning on backing off nutes anyways. Replaced big bud with overdrive and lowered ppm to 1200. Going to back her down to 1000 soon.
Getting into the last couple of weeks. Trichomes are almost all cloudy. Will begin flushing once amber trichomes appear and harvest around a week later at 30-50% amber.
Day 67 update
Today was the last time she gets food. Will start flushing tomorrow.
Day 68 update
Flush!!!
Microwaved a small amount and gave it a rip. Very strong and so far a nice complex flavor. Will jar the rest for 3-4 weeks and update with flavor profile. So far very impressed even though I didn’t do this strain justice with growing it completely correctly.
This was not an easy grow. Very big learning curve with this auto. It wanted the same nutrients if not more then any photoperiods I’ve grown. I got behind and never really caught up but happy to have done it.
2 week cure update
Very very gassy. Almost eye watering gassy.
