Gorilla Glue Auto

Memkasa Seeds soaked for 30 hours in rainwater and a cap of hydrogen peroxide. 10/10 split in water. Jiffy pots soaked with rainwater and a splash of Canna Rhizotonic. A dusting of mycorrhizae added to planting hole. 24 hours - 5 seedlings had emerged. Light spray of rainwater rhizotonic solution. 36 hours - 8 seedlings had fully emerged, with the 9th seedling just visible on the surface. Chose the best 6 seedlings and planted into their pots after removing the outside fabric of the Jiffy pots and dusting the hole with mycorrhizae . The rest are kept for backup. Pots are 10L Airpots x 6 Soil is Dr Greenthumb's water only soil with about 8cm of potting mix on top. Watering system uses Hydro Halo watering rings pumped from a 100l tank run from a timer. Timing still to be determined. 3 x Migro 100 LED lights in a 2'x4' Tent Plan is to add homemade worm castings at around week 5 to ensure enough nutrients, and to alternate between Dr Greenthumb's Root Roids and Fruit Roids at the start of flowering. This may change pending more research.

Memkasa Start of week 2 and all is going well, with a couple of minor hiccups. All of the plants have started showing their first true leaves, and 5 of the 6 have added a lot of height. I'm not sure why the 6th is such a runt - maybe a different phenome or maybe a slow starter and she'll explode later on and put the rest to shame. The plants are sprayed with a rainwaterrhizotonic mixture twice a day and seem pretty happy with life. First and most obvious hiccup is that the plants stretched more than I would have liked and I've had to stake them (apart from the runt) for some extra support. I've now increased all 3 lights to 100% (up from about 60%.) I would have preferred to ramp them up a bit more slowly, but they're the boss. The major problem for the week came after testing the watering system, turning it off, and coming back 4 hours later to find about 10cm of water at the bottom of the tent and my tank almost completely empty. Apparently I'd (unknowingly) hit some kind magic siphoning formula, and after pumping out about 40 litres from the flood tray, I've decided to switch to gravity fed watering, with a tap timer controlling everything. Manual spraying will continue at least halfway through week 2, before introducing the automated watering towards the end of the week.

Memkasa Start of week 3 and the plants have taken off really well. I'm a little concerned with some of the yellowbrown on the end of 2 of the plants. A bit of research is required. Stakes have been removed after exactly a week - which amazes me, considering how skinny they were last week. Auto-watering system is now in action, but needs a minor change. At the moment I can only water for 1 minute every 24 hours or run off is way too much. If I control the flow with the valve, the water is distributed evenly, so it has to be at least 80% open. The current plan is to put valves before each Hydro Halo so I can have the tank on full and control the flow for each plant individually. The soil will be getting a dose of Dr Greenthubs Root Roids in 3 or 4 days to keep the bacteria and fungi replenished and fed.

Memkasa Start of week 4 and I'm still really enjoying this grow. I think the yellowing leaves issue last week was from over-watering, which makes sense given the amount of water they've gotten in the past few weeks. The yellowing didn't get any worse or spread to any other leaves. The brownish spots on some of the leaves are from the Root Roids they received on day 19. Note to self to spray them down with straight water after spraying them. The plants will get a dose of Dr Greenthumb's Fruit Roids tomorrow and some compost tea on day 26. Unfortunately my weekend was derailed and I didn't get a chance to tweak the watering system, so it's still be watered for 60 seconds every 24 hours. This ends up with a bit too much run-off, so hopefully this weekend goes a bit closer to plan. I won't be doing any LST, as I'm really sure what I'm doing, but it'll be interesting to see how much room they end up taking in the tent. With the way these are growing, 6 plants in a 2x4 might be pushing my luck.

Memkasa Last week of vegitation and I've definitely run into some issues this week - mostly as a result of overwatering in the first few. The plants are all showing some form of magnesium deficiency, the worst have very yellowing bottom leaves and dark purple stems, the best have just a few purple stems. I've given the soil 30ml of Dr Greenthumbs tonic (in 2l of rainwater), and used 60ml of Magnesium Chelate as a foliar spray (in 3l of rainwater) to try and get it under control. It doesn't appear to have caused too much of an issue yet as the plants have continued to grow well, so hopefully the additional magnesium will sort things out. The other problem is bugs. I'm guessing these are the result of the amount of water sitting in the bottom of tent over the first couple of weeks. I've since bought a wetdry vac and removed the water, but the bugs are still there. They look like winged ants. but also don't look like they're doing any harm... but I can't imagine they bring good news. I've purchased some organic bug remover and can hopefully get that issue under control before flowering starts.
