All plants were fed flora series nutrients for first time this week. Melato seed has sprouted and is catching up to the 3 Hyer up seedlings. All plants were transferred into a 2x4 vivosun tent. I'm currently running 4x 25w cfls, 1x 6in ducting fan, a 9x24in heat mat and, a Honeywell HEPA filter tower.
Hyer up seedlings have been topped at the 6th node melato seedling is close behind still developing its 3rd set of nodes. About a week ago I got some really nice Ghost OG seeds and some Mystery outdoor seeds. They are all just starting to grow their first set of true leaf's. So week one for them.
I've been using leaf's from lollipopping and bits of aloe vera plant as mulch on one of the hyer up plants and the melato seedling. They both seem to love it, it keeps the soil moist longer so I dont need to water as much as the other plants. They also seem to be a darker green than the others and are much more healthy looking. Both hyer up seeds were transplanted into 2 gallon pots and topped about 3 days ago. I've also added a few cfls for veg, were now up to 8x 23w cfls putting out a total of 12,800 lumens. I'm still waiting to get a power cord from spectrum king to replace the one in lost while moving around all last summer. So by the time we get to bud stage I'll be running my spectrum king closet case 140w plus model.
So this week all seedlings were transplanted into either 1 or 2 gallon pots. The ones in the two gallon are the Ghost OG #2, the Melato, and the 2 hyer up plants that were germinated about 2or3 weeks before the rest of the seeds. I'm slowly continuing to add in more cfls as the plants get bigger and space out. I'm now up to 10x 23w cfls. I noticed that the hyer up plant that I haven't mulched with leaves or anything was showing signs of magnesium deficiency so I watered all the plants and sprayed the leaves with an Epsom mix of about 1tbsp per gal. Shes no longer showing signs of any deficiency but I'm going to keep an eye on her. Hopefully my two hyer up plants will be ready for bud in the next 2-3 weeks
This week I'm trying out a banana tea I've done some research on. Basically it's just banana peels soaked in a bucket for 3days to a week. I did mine for 3 days, and it came out great. I also added around 3/4 of a table spoon of epsom salt to the tea when it was done sitting for 3 days. The banana tea is supposed to be a great nutrient to provide your plants plenty of potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and minerals as well as small amounts of nitrogen and magnesium. I know I'm using the standard flora series nutrients but I'm going to see if I can bud these plants with as little bottle nutrients as I can and instead use more organic alternatives like I've tried this week. If the plants seem like they need extra nitrogen or anything I'll give it to them. But for the most part we're gonna try to grow 100% organic by the time we start our next batch of seeds and clones. I hope you all enjoy the updates, thank you for coming and takin a look at my garden.
Recently all my sativa dominate strains are going through a deficiency. I'm not sure if its nutrient lock out from bad ph levels or if I've actually been feeding them to much. I'm thinking it's a ph issue because it dosent look like like normal nutrient burn as you can see in the pictures.( They have only had a few light feedings) But either way I've been only feeding plain water this week. I'm going to get some ph drops to test my ph and see how far off my ph pen is. I'm also gonna be getting some spackling and seal off some of the cracks in the walls of the closet I'm going to be using for bud stage.
Alright so I just got the new cord to my spectrum king 140w plus model. I also got a ph and TDS meter for my water so all my plants are finally coming back from the nutrients and ph shock. The 1 hyer up I have left took it the worst. Shes just now turning back into a darker green after being almost a lime colored green. The Indica plants barely noticed anything, in fact they seem like they want more calmag. The sativas are still hating life but you can tell its getting better, I planned on having the plants in bud stage by now but I'm waiting for them to get over their deficiencies and be fully healthy before I flip them. Hopefully only another week or 2 tops. I got a new little lady in the garden, shes an Alaska Thunder Fuck. I also took a few clones of the og ghosts and the melato. So we have our contestants for the next round
So I'm having problems with a few plants as you guys can see from the pics, I was wondering it anyone has had problems with purple stems and what deficiency it could be. I've washed all these ladies out twice with plane water after I notice the initial nutrient burn on the leaves but now 3out of 5 of them are getting these dark purple stocks and stems. Mostly on the new grow on the top of the plant. I've looked up deficiency charts and nothing is really specific to the symptoms I've been getting. At the very end of the pictures I'll leave a few pictures for you guys to see what I'm talking about. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks guys.
Alright ladies and gentlemen, I'm very happy to announce that I've decided to go full organic on these ladies. After having problems with the basic flora series nutrients all through out veg stage, burning the tips on all the plants and actually fully killing one of my more sensitive plants. The first thing I tried on them was the Dr. Earths Life and Premium Gold Fertilizer mix, I rubbed a tbsp of each into the top soil of the 2 gal pots and watered. I swear to you guys the very next day all the tops of each plant were bright beautiful fresh green leaf tips. After about a week and a half of letting them recover and grow fresh new nodes I decide to put them into bud stage. Which was yesterday. I actually put my sativa plant into bud about 4 days ago because she was already throwing a ton of hairs because of how stressed she got. And you guys can tell from the shitty android pictures which one I'm talking about. She already has full bud sites on her tops after not even a full week of flower. More recently I've went and got a 1.5lb bag of bat guano, a big bag of worm castings and since I needed more soil I went and got some of the black gold organic soil. It seems to be working great on all the seedlings I started a few days ago. I went ahead and pre mixed the dr earth and bat guano into the soil this time so it's not just a top rub like the ladies I have in bud rn. Since I didnt really need much soil I just made a small batch. I went with 2 gallons of black gold soil, 1 gallon of worm castings, 1tbsp of dr earth Life, 1 tbsp of dr earth premium gold and 1 tbsp of bat guano. I also sprinkled some mycorrhiza on the roots of all my seedlings. You can follow the process of my first 100% organic garden in the new journal I will be posting today. Thanks for growing along folks
Alright, we are now ending week 2 of bud for these ladies, and they are starting to swell up. They did most of their stretching in the first week and a half, but it definitely seems like most of the stretching has slowed down. But that's not to say the stretch is over, I'm sure these ladies will keep gaing height till around day 30 of bud. Just today before I took these pictures I lollipopped each plant. You might be able to see I was a bit more aggressive on one of the plants, and this was because when I flipped her into flower and she started stretching she was growing around 3-4 inches a day between node spacings so all the growth before bud was almost a full foot below the tops. I'm very excited about my sativa mystery strain. Shes the one that's blowing up the most. She already shot out a bunch of hairs before I put her into bud, so now at 2 weeks in she looks like shes mid week3 into bud. The other two plants are also looking great. The melato is the short one up front, she still definitely has a bit more stretching to do. I might end up stacking her up inside a few empty pots so she can get a bit more of a boost toward the light. Then my Ghost OG is kinda behind the crowd which is weird considering shes a very strong indica dom strain. Shes definitely shooting some hairs but shes the only plant that hasn't formed her top buds and she has the least amount of visible hairs. That's not to say shes gonna be bad, I'm just saying it's odd for an indica cause most indica plants I grow bud quick dont stretch to much and finished by day 60 of bud. But here we are on week 2 and shes really hasn't shown much bud development like the others, this also could be contributed to a bunch of different factors. Such as pheno, pot size, plant comfortably, feedings ect... I'm sure she will catch up to the pack and probably still finish faster than my sativa that I'm expecting to go to around day 75-82 of bud. Anyways thanks for checkin out my garden and sorry again for the awful pictures, I'm going to get a decent camera soon so I can show you guys the real beauty of these ladies. Check out my next generation of seedlings and a clone in, My first organic grow. You can find it on my profile
Alright we're cruising right along in bud stage. We're on week3 and all the ladies are doing great. Just been watering with plain water at 6.8ph. I dont have much to say this week, we're just progressing through bud stage
This week is exciting, I finally ordered a kit to start doing the boogie brew compost teas. I should be getting it in the mail in the next 2 or 3days. I plan on feeding these ladies the compost tea maybe 2 times in these next 3 weeks before I start flushing. And I'm excited to see what the little extra boost is gonna do, because as of now. The only feeding these ladies have had so far has been dr earths Life and the Premium Gold drop and go Fertilizers. So they have only had top feedings since I've stopped using bottled nutrients on them. They are all looking great, it seems like we are done with the stretch stage and now the buds are just starting to fatten up. The melato up front has some very sativa structure leafs but a very indica structure of growth. Meaning she didnt stretch very much and she has this really gassy OG smell to her that's usually an unmistakable indica trait. So I'm very excited to see how she turns out. All though because she didnt stretch much I may have over lollipoped her by a nose or 2. Which is fine because I'm just learning this strain. But she probably won't harvest more than 2oz max. I'm really pushing to get the budget to get some ocean grown seeds to do a journal of. Anyways ill stop rambling, thanks for checking out my garden.
This week is the first week that I got to use my boogie brew compost tea. I can definitely tell that the ladies are loving what's going on in their soil. They are all perked up and the buds are all starting to swell now. But I think that I underfed them on this round. It's only week 5 and all the plants look like they are starting flush. So next time I'll try to make sure to give my ladies enough nutrients to get all the way through bud stage without yellowing out. My plan for these ladies is to feed them the teas for the next 2 weeks before I start my flush. Also my sativa strain had hermed so I'm not gonna be growing her anymore. My plan is to plant all the seeds I have of her in good outdoor spots for them to grow this next summer. I already know of a few great spots in the woods but I have alot of seeds so chances are I'll end up planting them in up to 10 different places with around 5 plants at each spot. This won't be a grow that I'm attempting to harvest or if I do it won't be much. It's just to see how this beautiful sativa strain will do in my climate in summer. Thanks for checking out the garden 🤙
Alright it’s 1 day early from being week 6 but I just got my new iphone and I’m excited to show you guys just how amazing these ladies look. The camera on this is so much better than my android. So I’ve just been feeding compost teas almost daily to make up for the lack of amendments in the soil. They are all holding out and swelling up but I can tell these ladies are gonna he coming down early due to being underfed. All the fan leafs on the plants are turning yellow and pink and purple. I’m gonna basically try to get them to day 56 or60 if I can. But idk about any longer than that. I’m going to only flush for 1 week because there’s obviously not much to flush out of these ladies and because I’ve been told you don’t need to flush as much with organic. So from the 13th through the 20th I will be flushing. And if all goes well I will be cutting them down between the 20th and 24th
This is the start of week 7 in flower. From now on I’ll be feeding them just plain ph’ed water. As You can see I’m already getting quite a bit of fade on some of the lower leafs of the plants. So these ladies are getting close to harvest time. I’ll probably try to harvest around day 60, today is day 49. thanks for checking everything out. My next update should be a harvest update.
These buds turned out pretty good. Not a whole lot of bud but this was my first grow in the past 2 years. I’m very happy with each strain and how they turned out. The “OG” was definitely a lot more sativa than any of my other strains. Which I didn’t like because naming a strain OG is an indicator of strong indica dominance. But this strain was definitely more sativa. It was actually funny. My “sativa strain” finished earlier than my OG strain. But this is what I get for just getting seeds of the streets to grow. Which is why I’m very excited to be growing the tropic moon by ocean grown seeds. This strain is already doing great. I germinated 3 seeds and all 3 popped and are doing great. Check out my other grow journals if you want to see the progress on my next grow. Thanks for tuning in everyone. I really appreciate all the support and good vibes from everyone. ✌️
