This is my first grow and I am trying a few strains of autos to get my bearings. I plan on using LST only for this run. Setup: Seedlings & Early Veg in 2x4 gorilla lite. Moving to 4x8 at about 3-4 weeks. HLG 260 QB started at about 36 inches - roughly 15klux Coco for Canna Coco added 30% perlite - in smart pots Plant ID: Blue - Blueberry, White - White Widow, Red - Sweet Critical, Pink - Furious Candy, Yellow - Bomb Candy I started with 13 and lost 2 during the first couple days. Nov 20 - Day 1 Stated with 13 seeds in RO water for about 24 hours. They sat on a heat mat set to 71F, but not sure that provided any extra heat that low. Nov 21 - Day 2 Moved to rapid rooters and placed in homemade humidity dome. Right before I placed the seeds, I lightly soaked the rooters with some ro/tap mix. Tent humidity was about 40%, I estimate the humidity inside the dome would reach 80% or higher so I removed the lid a few times throughout the day and completely overnight. I used the probe from the heating mat stuck in an extra rapid rooter to measure temp and the warmest it seemed to get was about 70F but the air temp in the dome got to 90F which is part of whyI decided to let them breathe a little. Woke up to the first couple popping through! Put the dome back on for the day. I will be transplanting to 16oz plastic cups tonight. Give 1 CFL bulb directly over Rapid Rooters. Nov 22 - Day 3 Re-hydrated my coco. In about 6.0 ph. DId not soak. Used Canna brand and it is pre balanced. Nov 23 - Day 4 Watered coco pre transplant with very light GH nute feeding. Nov 24 - Day 5 A few looked like they were stretching a bit. A bit too much light and not enough humidity. Nov 25 - Day 6 Plain PH Water Nov 26 - Day 7 Light GH feeding. Notes from this Week: Contacted Seedsman and Bomb Seeds trying to track down the details of my Bomb Kandy auto and did not get correct info. I think they may not be autos actually. I wIll fiind out in a few weeks! IF they are not autos I will just filp them to flower after the autos are done. A few more notes on this week still coming. Week 2 kicks off today!

I faced some typical newbie problems this week. It's funny; you can read all about the issues and try to prevent them, but you are still bound to make some mistakes. I guess the difference is being able to identify and solve the issues. I think the main issues were some nute burn and too much light. My QB 260 is far too much power for babies. I wish it was adjustable! I basically watered every other day this week and alternated between plain PHed water and feedings. My water is hard and I think I added to much nutes so I backed off. I almost had to ditch both white widows, and maybe a still shoudl because they are behind the others, but this run is about learning so I am trying to get them to recover.

This week I moved from the plastic cups to 3 gal smart pots. I LSTed the first plant and will continue with the rest this week. Almost all plants seem to be doing pretty good even the 3 that looked the sickest last week. Overall I have been pretty conservative with the nutes. The lights are currently turned up to provide between 25 and 30k lux. I will continue to turn them up little by little each day till I hit 50k or they start to show signs of too much light. Everything is going pretty well. I way underestimated how much work it would take and I am still trying to get my environment as automated as possible, but content with where I am at at this stage. Very happy with how easy and intuitive LST is.

Continued to up light. Up to about 35k lux in some areas and as low as 28k in others. Had a power outage for about 4 hours during light areas. It did not seem to have any bad effect. I've still be conservative with the nutes and most seem to be doing pretty well. I watered twice once with nutes and once with PHed tap water. I did a lot of LST this week and that seems to be going pretty well. I think I am seeing my first white pistils.

When do you stop LSTing autos? I have some white pistils and have read that is when you should stop, do you agree? I uploaded one pic to this week of my grow.

As long as the branches are pliable then you can lst through the entire flower stretch to keep the canopy even and well lit. The only issue that I have had with training autos is the branches usually harden up faster than photoperiod plants so they can snap pretty easily. Your plant looks like it is spread out pretty nice now though so it shouldn't need much. Good luck flowering!

I changed techniques mid grow. I was using growweedeasy.com as my primary source of info, but that was not working right for coco so I started using high frequency fertigation as instructed by cocoforcannibis.com and that has made a huge difference. However since I have been hand watering 2-3 times a day it has left NO time to maintain a proper journal.

I think several plants are getting ready close to start drying. Any feedback is welcome. I stared some plants on a ripen set of nutes. EC is closer to 900.

Based on the pics in week 10, do you think any are getting close to being ready to start cutting and drying?

hey :-) they don't look finished yet. I would start washing up now. look at the trichomes with a microscope. so you can determine the degree of maturity exactly. if you want a rather clear high (top heavy) then harvest when the trichomes are still milky. if you want an oppressive high, harvest when approx. 30-50% amber, depending on your preference. hope i could help you something looks great on you :-) let it grow
