Hello fellow Growmies,
It's been awhile since my last grow but I'm back! After growing autoflowers the last few times, I'll be going with a photoperiod strain by MSNL Bruce Banner #3 which is a Sativa dominant and a heavy yielder. We'll see what I can do with this one.
Starting this grow with Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil amended with Real Growers Recharge, Dolomite lime, and Alfalfa meal. Soaked seeds overnight before being sowed into soil with a dash of BioTabs Mycotrex. Straight to final 5 gallon fabric pot means no chances of stressing the plants when repotting. You might ask what are the benefits of what I do...
Real Growers Recharge - loaded with Mycorrhizae, trichoderma, and beneficial bacteria with Kelp, Humic, Fulvic & Molasses
Dolomite lime - helps balance PH on acidic soil plus it provides calcium and magnesium
Alfalfa Meal - NPK value 3-2-2 has naturally-occurring growth hormone that stimulates healthy root and stem development. Aids in beneficial microbial activity.
BioTabs Mycotrex - blend of 9 species of mycorrhiza spores which help bring nutrients to plants
These are just stuff I've researched and decided to add to my regimen. Things will most likely be added or taken away as I am still learning and trying new things. I will also be using Dyna-Gro nutrients to feed these monsters. Light setup is still the same (6) Cree CXB3590 @ ~300W
Now back to the progress... seeds sprouted after being planted into soil. Kept a humidity dome (aka cut plastic bother with slits) on them for a couple days. Day 3 and day 6 were watering/feed days for this week. I just wait until top layer is dry before watering. Also, I just water around the seedling and not the entire 5 gallon pot. The plants responded well and showing great progress. Just need to figure out what training style I will do this time. Thanks for checking in and stay tuned for the next update!
Welcome to the week 2 update of the Incredible Bruce Banner #3. I'm happy to report that they have doubled in height since last week and starting to get thick. Just had to adjust the light fixture to maintain proper height distance. Feed has changed by removing Dyna-Gro KLN from the feed and increased the Foliage-Pro & Pro-Tekt. Same dose for the Recharge. The only thing I need to consider is what type of training these ladies will receive. Stay tuned for the next update and happy growing!
Welcome to the Week 3 update of the Incredible Bruce Banner #3 by MSNL. It is starting to get interesting as these plants grow and express phenotypes. All 3 plants are showing different plant structures. Lets call plant #1 on the left, #2 middle, and #3 right. #1 spaced out nodes. I think this one will be the tallest. #2 Short and stocky 😉 just the way I like 'em. Bushy. #3 is falling behind on growth compared to the others but not so tall and not so bushy. At Day 5, all 3 plants were topped and did a little LST. As far as training, LST will be maintained a few weeks into flowering. Feed will stay the same until the switch to 12/12 👍
Welcome to week 4 update on the Incredible Bruce Banner. We are at the stage of intense training... adjusting LST almost everyday to maintain that level canopy. Some light removal of fan leaves that are blocking light to the new growth. Other than that we are getting closer to get these flowering. Same feed as last week but with a little smash of Dyna-Gro Mag-Pro. Once we start flowering, BLOOM will be introduced to the feed and Foliage-Pro will taper off. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for the next update 👍
Welcome to the week 5 update of the Incredible Bruce Banner! I am excited to announce that this is the last week in veg and finally going to start flowering. Day 2 of this week received more LST and some light defoliation. After a few days they all responded well and bounced back to being bushy. Over the flowering stretch period, more defoliation will take place and feed will be adjusted.
This week we initiated flowering by giving them 24+ hours of darkness before setting the timer to 12/12. Introduced Bloom nutrients to the feed this week and will taper off Foliage-Pro. Significant amount of stretch across all plants averaged 4 inches during this week. Next week they will receive a good dose of defoliating. All plants seem to be pretty happy 😀
Week 7 overall, 2nd week of flowering. All plants are now flowering and going through some serious stretch. Didn't have to do any LST but a good dose of defoliating took place. I must have made a mistake mixing up the feed because after watering, the leaves immediately started clawing. I think I messed up and gave the wrong dose of Foliage-Pro (Nitrogen) feed. Too much Nitrogen during flowering can cause clawing 😒. Moving forward no more Foliage-Pro will be included with the feed. I was already tapering off the Nitrogen but must have overlooked it somehow. Anyways, I'll give them a flush and they should recover.
As expected, the plants recovered this week from having too much Nitrogen in the feed. I didn't want to do anything else other than address the issue. This upcoming week, last light defoliation will take place and that would be it. Other than giving them a good feeding until flush. Flowering stretch seems to have slowed down maybe even stopped. Plants should start focusing on fattening up those buds.
I apologize for the subpar images since my 2009 MacBook Pro finally died and my Lightroom stuff is not accessible. Should be getting a replacement soon 😉
This week I had to relocate the exhaust filtration outside the tent to gain a little bit more vertical grow space. Looks like the stretch is finally over and they should focus on getting those buds fat. They all received a minor defoliation session just to get better light penetration below the canopy. Bloom nutrients we bumped up a little bit more and stay the same the next few weeks. It this point we are just waiting for the buds to mature and get ripe. Next big thing is flushing the soil in preparation for harvest.
Week 10 update of the Bruce Banner #3 - not much to report other than keeping them fed. No change in the feed, just following Dyna-Gro's schedule. Expecting the buds to keep on stacking up and gain more weight. According to MSNL flowering time is 8-10 weeks, which makes us halfway through. Stay tuned for the next update 😉
Not much to report this week other than buds are stacking up nicely. Top are gaining weight and might need to start supporting some of the branches before they topple over. As thrichome productions is on full blast, smell is definitely getting stronger! See you on the next update.
Welcome to Week 7 of flower on the Bruce Banner #3. All the plants are making good progress, gaining a good amount of weight. On the tallest plant, a couple of the colas started to topple over due to weight which I guess is kinda a good thing. Tried fixing this by tethering them to other stems to keep them upright. Same feed as the last couple of weeks but flushing will commence in a week or so. Need to start paying attention to the trichomes and maybe do another defoliating to get better airflow and induce a little bit of stress 😉
Welcome to week 8 of flowering. Everything seems to be progressing really well and should start flushing them out. Trichome production and weight gain is noticeable over the past couple of weeks. Trichomes are starting to get milky but I usually chop them down once some amber is showing.
Welcome to week 9 of flower for Bruce Banner #3. Flushing (Ph'd water) has already began and the plant farthest to the left is already fading in color. I also spotted very little amber trichomes, looks like that will be the first to get chopped. It actually works out for me to do a staggered harvest to have more time to trim 1 plant at a time. It's just a matter of time before they are all dried, trimmed, and cured. Maybe wet trim, dry then cure 😉 Looks like it'll be a pretty decent harvest, not the biggest yielding but still good.
Nothing out of the ordinary growing this strain. Responded well with all the training I put them through. Bounced back real quick from some defoliating. Buds not as big as I was hoping for but still good yield. I would recommend this strain to other growers!
