Smokev Discovery of the site and first attempt at a diary, so the first weeks of life are missing. Germination: Melon Gum Fem 2/2 - Watermelon Fem 3/3 - Afgoo Overdrive Reg 5/5, of which 3 male and 2 female - PCK Reg 1/1 home seed found in a bud and Peyote Cookies 1/1 also found in a bud. Growth done in 3-liter pots in a Secret Jardin Lodge 120x90x165 box. I use Jongkind soil that contains clay / coco / blonde peat, it comes from a horticulturist who uses it for his professional plantings, so it's of very good quality, very airy, and slightly enriched. Then repotted into 10-liter pots and moved to the Secret Jardin 3.0 box 150x150x200 cm for 2 to 3 weeks before transitioning to flowering. Week 7 of growth since the seed, for the most part, cuttings have been taken (to keep a mother plant on the regulars). Finishing old fertilizer cans (Trabe in this case) to switch to a new range (never tested) Top Crop fert as soon as the products arrive. Transition to flowering at the end of week 8 or 9 of growth, the time to incorporate the new fertilizers. Everything is going quite well, the Melon Gum has very strong growth, the Watermelons are stretching a lot. A few thrips are wandering around, nothing serious, but looking forward to the new fertilizers to remedy that.

Smokev Week 8 of growth, they are all gaining size, the box is starting to get well filled, flowering phase imminent (end of the week). I added 5 cuttings in 5.5L pots, 4 Melon Gum and 1 Pakistan. That makes 14 plants now. Broke a branch on a watermelon while trying to tie it down to keep it shorter. Pruned a few lower branches as well as some future suckers. Watering almost daily with fertilization once every 2 or 3 times. Still waiting to receive my nutrient kit to be able to switch to flowering.

Smokev Transitioning to flowering. F+0 on 12/13/19. First watering with Top Crop nutrients. I use nutrients every other watering. Using Top Veg growth nutrients to avoid nitrogen deficiency during the stretch (only the first week, then Top Bloom). Micro Vita for bacteria (once a month). Green Explosion to stimulate chlorophyll (once every 3 weeks during the growth cycle). Barrier to enhance nutrient absorption (every other week). Next watering Big One to stimulate flowering (every other week). Installed a new extractor 460m2/h to regulate the climate in the box (30 min on/off when the light is on, off during the night hours).

Smokev 1st week finished, beginning of stretch, it's a jungle, it's getting very tight. During the 2nd week, I think I'll defoliate to lighten up the lower levels a bit. Also, I'll trim the branches that are too low. Flowering +7 on 12/20. The pre-flowering is going well, no deficiencies so far. I'm keeping an eye on the temperature, which has dropped a bit. I might need to adjust the extractor settings, as they might be a bit too strong. Maybe reduce the operating time. Fertilization 1 watering out of 2, the new nutrients seem effective with quite rapid absorption. Flowering +10 on 12/23. A little defoliation has been done, especially on the bigger plants to let the light through, watering with clear water.

Smokev Beginning of the 3rd week of flowering, added a 400w HPS lamp because I received an HLG 135w v2 Rspec from Santa for my second tent. So trying flowering with 2 lamps for a total of 1000w pushed to 1100w with the super lumen mode of the electronic ballasts. Flowering +15 watering with top bloom/top candy/big one nutrients. First flowers appearing. Stretch is stabilizing, tallest plant about 150cm (watermelon x zkittlez). No deficiencies detected, plants are healthy and vigorous. Slight increase in heat due to the addition of the second lamp, more acceptable temperature 24~25 degrees. Night temperature a bit low 15~16 degrees.

Smokev 4th week of flowering. The plants are starting to bud nicely. The Melon Gum has produced a few male flowers on 2 or 3 cuttings, which I hope I caught in time and removed. So, I need to keep a close eye on it to avoid disaster; I think this is due to stress, probably from defoliation that may have been poorly executed or implemented??? If more appear, I will put the affected plants in quarantine or, unfortunately, destroy them. Aside from this mishap, all the plants are doing well and developing their buds nicely. The Watermelon x Zkittlez has gained a bit more height, and 2 of the plants are over 170 cm and touching the reflector. However, it seems to be a big resin producer because there is already resin forming on the leaves. As for the nutrients, I've added Top Bud to the fertilization program. Waterings are now on a rhythm of 2 small feedings with nutrients followed by a larger one with plain water, while distributing the nutrients over the 2 waterings to avoid incorporating them all at once, but rather in 2 stages. The Afgoo overdrive are very different from each other; one is much stockier and buds less, while the other is taller and more vigorous with a ton of flowers, and its leaves have a unique shape (photos to come).

Smokev Sorry for the delay over the past few weeks. Week 7 of flowering is coming to an end, had some big problems in the previous weeks due to several male flowers that appeared on the Melon Gum cuttings. Some detected too late have pollinated a few female flowers, which has delayed, weakened, and messed up most of the plants (the photos speak for themselves). I'm afraid of finding seeds in some buds, all the plants have suffered, the buds are small and less resinous. (One of the worst sessions I've had 😩😤)

Smokev Rinsing week for everyone. Peyote Cookies will finish in first, the amber trichomes are starting to appear. Otherwise, the harvest doesn't look so bad in the end because most of the plants have caught up, the buds have swollen quite well. A few seeds here and there (less than ten) on some, but nothing insurmountable. Watermelon x Zkittlez and PCK are starting to turn purple. I think after reflection that the almost 2 weeks they stagnated is due to the improper use of nutrients; that is to say, Green Explosion and Micro Vita were used at the wrong time (too late, flowering had already started well). This is my opinion and only mine. 😉

Smokev Plants are quite simple to grow, vigorous in growth, stretch x2.5, average internodal distance, doesn't require special attention during flowering, so it's a rather easy genetic to cultivate. Very, very resinous even on the largest leaves. Strong, deliciously attractive fruity and slightly creamy smell. Average yield with medium-sized buds that are very compact and hard, well distributed across the entire plant. Takes on a slight purple hue on the buds. Drying in progress, smoke test to follow....

Très bonne productrice, de résine comme de fleurs, des têtes énormes grosse comme une bouteille d’eau mais pas très compactes. Facile, fruité, ce bouture très facilement.

Smokev Overall, a good strain except for a small hermaphroditism issue. Vigorous growth, very very easy to clone (roots in 7 days). Stretch x2 x3. Buds are quite airy, which is a shame, maybe due to the pheno I got, but it's strange with 3 seeds. Otherwise, still a very good producer; for example, a clone in a 5-liter pot yields about 40 grams. Delicious fruity smell, quite resinous as usual. Pretty easy to manicure. The smoke is very good, sweet, and fruity once again with a slight spicy ~ herbal aftertaste; we'll see with the curing if it's less pronounced. Medium to strong effect, quite balanced Sativa - indica, can be smoked during the day without overdoing it or in the evening to relax. So overall, a pretty good strain, easy to grow, and fruity, above average but rather ordinary for me. This is just my opinion. But that doesn't stop it from being a reliable choice.
