The strain I'm growing is Purple Haze, this is my 4th crop I'm growing in my indoor 48x48x80 grow tent. I have a AC Infinity CLOUDLINE T6, Quiet 6” Inline Duct Fan with Amagabeli 6 inch Carbon Filter Odor Control 6 in Air Scrubber. The light I'm using is a King Plus 1200w LED Grow Light Full Spectrum.
With this grow I'm grow 4 plants and I'm experiencing with 3 different seed starting programs. Plant 1 and 2 were soaked in water for 24 hours then used the paper towel method for two days when there was about an inch of root growth then place into a small pot of "Green Groggs Omega living soil" which is the medium I'll be using for the entire of this grow. Plant 3 was directly put into seed starting soil and Plant 4 was planted directly into the Groggs Omega living soil.
On Nov 30 I put plants 1and 2 seeds in water to soak for 24 hours then on Dec 1st I planted plants 3 and 4 each in their medium mentioned above. Then used the paper towel method on plants 1 and 2.
Plant 1 sprouted on Dec 5th and plant 2 sprouted on Dec 6 by Dec 7th Plant 1 was 1 3/4 tall and plant 2 is an inch tall. Plants 3 and 4 have just barely broke the surface.
So by the end of the first week my experiment with seed starting methods has shown that the paper towel method is a faster way to start seeing growth by about 3 to 4 days but we will see how fast plants 3 and 4 catch up in the next few weeks. In the end it might not matter and all the extra work with plants 1 and 2 might not be worth it. On the other hand using the paper towel method you'll visual see the roots and know that seed will germinate and not waist time on a seed you put directly into soil and it might not germinate at all, which would be a waist of time and effort caring for a plant that wont grow.
