Amnesia - Gea Seeds - Coco

123THC The seeds were started via the paper towel method. They showed their tap root in about 48 hours and were then transplanted to the coco in air pots. Initially they were watered lightly with tap water that had its PH adjusted to 5.85. After 2 days in the coco, they had sprouted and the cotyledons were open, they were watered again with tap water adjusted to 5.85 PH and then after 2 more days I watered them with Canna A + B. 2ml of each per litre, PH of 6.09 and PPM of 492

123THC This week growth has been a little slow which I attribute to the cold weather so keeping the tent warm enough is a struggle. I did a second feed using 2ml/l of canna A + B and then after a couple of days increased the nutes to 3ml/l with a PPM of 722. A few days later one of the plants is showing a few signs on nute burn so I dialled then nutes back on the next watering to just 1.5ml/l but I will slowly start to increase this on the next few waterings. Other than that no major changes, seem to be growing nicely albeit a bit slowly

123THC So after noticing what I believed to be a calcium deficiency on one of the plants, I purchased some cal mag and have been slowly adding that to the nutrient solution, starting at 0.25ml per litre and going up to 0.5ml per litre, I’ll keep slowly increasing it until I get to 1ml per litre and then keep at this amount unless it looks like it needs more. I also slowly started increasing the amount of canna A + B so at the end of this week, it was getting about 3ml per litre. I’ll now start increasing that to about 4ml/litre which is the recommended amount. Growth has been fairly slow again, the leaves are getting very wide and look very healthy, there’s not any stretching going on and all the node sites are close to each other which is great. Still struggling with keeping it warm enough which I think is playing a big role in the slow growth

123THC So this was an eventful week. I finally got around to getting drip trays for the pots and also a greenhouse heater to deal with the cold temperatures. This has worked really well and brought the average day temperature up from 60 - 65 to now 70 - 75. I did make a big mistake though. I decided to top the plants (I plan on main lining them) but I stupidly cut the tops off at the third node and stripped everything below that, even though the growth sites at the third node were pretty much non existent. After I’d already trimmed everything back, I read it is a good idea to leave the fan leaves below the third node and just remove all the growth sites instead as this will help the plant recover quicker. Well, unfortunately my eagerness and stupidity meant I hadn’t done that and I was concerned I might have inadvertently killed both my plants. I decided to give them 1 week to show signs of recovery before I abandon the grow. After 3 days, the remaining fan leaves have doubled in size and there appears to finally be new growth sites emerging at the 3rd node! I’m hoping by the end of next week these would have developed more and my mistake might not prove to be fatal! I am continuing to water every few days at a PH of 6.2 and have now got the nutrients up to the recommended amount of 4ml per litre of Canna A + B and I’m adding 1ml per litre of CalMag. I have been giving 1 litre of nutrient solution to each plant, each watering. I think this is too much though as I have seen the early signs of algae appearing on some of the perlite so I’m going to reduce this to 500ml per plant, per watering until they look like they need more

123THC So the new growth is coming in nicely now where I topped the week before. There is also 2 new growth sites coming in where I made the cut when topping though, so I will now have 4 top sites compared to the two that I was expecting. I have reduced the amount of nutrient solution the plants where getting with each watering to about 600ml each and watering them every 2 days. This seems to be going well and the plants are responding nicely. Unfortunately due to time constraints I’ve had to switch the plant to 12-12 now although I had wanted to give it a couple more weeks in veg, I’m going to let the new growth sites grow out a little more and then start doing some LST on them. Apart from that, everything is looking nice and healthy and the increased temps in the tent have definitely helped speed up the growth rate for both plants

123THC This week the growth has really started to accelerate, although I may have knocked the plants back by a few days as I accidentally tore off one of the main branches when trying to tie them down for LST. I then did the exact same thing to the other plant so both of them unfortunately lost a main branch. The next day when I was replacing the string I originally tied them down with, for the garden soft ties that had finally arrived, I accidentally ripped one of the smaller branches that had grown from where I topped the plant. Luckily it didn’t completely rip off so I have left it as it is and have my fingers crossed it will recover. All in all, I think I have learnt I need to be far more gentle with the plants! They seem to be growing really well now though, each evening that I tied them down by morning they were fully upright and new growth is coming in fast. I can even see some of the roots coming out of the bottom of the pot and sitting in the run off so obviously it has finally developed a very good root system. The reduced quantity in each watering seems to be going well and I have increased it slightly to 800ml per plant every 2 or 3 days depending on how wet the coco looks. I also added some Jamaican bloom super concentrated PK but it did not mix well with the canna A + B so I will give that as a separate feed once or twice a week

123THC This week has been very good, the plants are responding really well to the LST and even the branches that had been ripped at their joins to the main stem, have recovered and even thickened up to heal themselves. These plants seem to be very resilient and bounce back quickly from all the mistakes I’ve made so far this grow! This week I’ve continued to adjust the ties when needed and added more ties to the new growth. Each time after I have tied the plants down, they have adjusted themselves and are facing back up within 12 hours which is great. They are getting really nice and bushy now but I still can’t see any white hairs sprouting yet. This week I gave them more of the Jamaican Bloom 28 - 25 but as a separate feed from the canna A + B as it did not mix well last time. All in all, no major changes this week, just strong growth which is always great to see!

123THC This week the new vegetative growth seems to be slowing down, and I can see a few more pistils starting to appear across the plants. I have upped the amount of water used in each watering to 1 litre per plant and when using the Jamaican bloom I am giving them 500ml per plant each. I increased the nutrients of the Jamaican bloom this week to 4ml per litre and will continue at this amount for the the next few weeks

123THC This week the growth has been explosive, I thought by the end of last week that it stopped growing but I was obviously wrong! I’ve done a little more light LST and also tucking the leaves behind one another in order to expose the bud sites to as much light as possible. I’ve stopped giving the plant the Madame grow Jamaican bloom 28-25 PK now and I’m just feeding it the canna A + B with CalMag every other day and this seems to be a good amount. Although I think I will increase it to every day soon as the plants are getting far less run off than they used to so I assume the plants are drinking a lot more and drying the coco out much quicker than before

123THC This week growth has been steady. I needed to do some more LST on the left plant because the 3 top sites had all stretched much more than the plant on the right and therefore I was having to move the light further up which meant the plant on the right was getting less light. After tying the 3 tops down, the next day they had readjusted themselves and I have a really nice flat canopy now.
