While visiting Arizona, got a batch of King Louie XIII from a local dispensary that just so happened to have a seed. We brought it home and immediately submerged it in water. The next morning Louie had broken out of its shell with a nice lil root tip. We planted Louie in a rapid rooter pod and placed between hydroton pellets i n a 7 gallon container. No nutes, just PH'd water. Just a week in and Louie was growing at an astonishing rate. Louie is our lil alien plant.
Week 2 and Louie is growing strong and steady. Louie gets watered a bit twice a day and seems happy and green. Still amazed at how quickly this lil plant is growing. Lets see about week 3.
This week we began feeding Louie nutes and noticed more foliage. Began low stress training the end of week 3 and continued watering twice daily. With not many guidelines on growing Louie, we are paying special attention to its needs. Louie is high maintenance.
continued with LST. Louie has broke free from its delicate bondage. Had to find another way to keep the LST. Same nutes are given. Still dont know to much about this strain. Curious on how it will turn out for this lil alien plant.
Unfortunately this week we had left Louie in the care of someone who could keep up with louies high maintenance regime. so we wasnt able to get enough decent photos
This week we encountered a cal/mag deficiency. At first we did not know what we were dealing with so we cut the affected leaves. Glad to find out its not any fungus or bugs. root zone i believe is in good standing. Louies was topped one time. Thinking about FIMing we’ll see next week if things change. Also this is this first week giving Louie some real nutrients.
Last week of Veg for louie. Will be switching to flower tomorrow and using my 600w HPS i this 2x4 grow area. Louie is bushy and lush. A little slow growing on the vert but that's fine with me, Decided to FIM in a couple spots. Cant wait to see the flowers on this. At this time no pre flowers have emerged, not sure if its a male or female but from my limited amout of experience it should be a girl. If anyone has experience in growing King Louie Xlll feedback will be grateful.
Louie continued to grow through this first week of flowering but showed little signs of sex. We were concerned that Louie may be Male, however we noticed small hairs towards the end of the week. Louie is a girl!
This week more and more hairs have appeared. Accidentally snapped one of the main colas at the very end of week 8 and decided to try cloning it. Also super cropped a few main colas. Did some light defoliation of the bottom fan leaves. Also added some stones to hydroton to cover any openings that allowed light to penetrate the water.
*Note: We have been changing the reservoir water bi-weekly since beginning of grow.
This week Louie continued to fill in. Got 4 colas from one FIM. Fucked up a FIM so no extra colas there. Super cropped all the colas. Continued with low stress training.
This week we defoliated Louie for the final time. Noticed bud density thickened this week and see some orange hairs. PH levels remained consistent however needed adjustment with the addition of silica.
