This is my first grow.
Plants germinated in a paper towel. 5 days later, they sprouted and I put them in my 20 liter Cocoa Coir pots.
Three girls for this grow.
The guy at the hydro store convinced me to use Canna nutrients.
In the first week of my first grow I've made quite a few booboos already that will most likely negatively affect my harvest.
I'm such a noob.
Mistake #1 - I did not rinse the cocoa well.
Mistake #2 - I did not use dechlorinated ph'd water on seeds.
Mistake #3 - I did not use a heating mat for seeds.
This was a dismal week. I was expecting fireworks. It didn't happen.
I flushed the cocoa that I figured was a little hot with salt because I didn't rinse it well in the beginning.
The plants spent this week under the LED blurple of my Phlizon 2000 COB.
I'm hoping for week 3 to show something!
Finally see some action by day 21 in the cocoa.
I increased the nutrients slightly at day 21, and pulled the humidity dome off at around day 16.
Maybe it won't be a complete disaster!
One of these girls looks like it was burnt by the chlorine? It couldn't be burnt by the low nutrients I'm using, could it? Will this sick plant make it?
Ok. Week 5 from watering the seed.
Things are looking great.
My Phlizon 2000 COB is so bright I need to wean my plants into it.
I did some LST on Christmas eve, hence the garland.
Lots of bud sties getting light!
Wow these girls must have taken root!
Progress is happening!
LMFAO the one I thought was a write off is now the biggest plant.
#nevergiveup
Explosive growth all around!
I'm thinking my addition (while a little early) of canna Boost has had a part to play.
Looks like they may be almost starting to flower.
Not sure though. Smell is still almost non existent.
I added a miniscule amount of pk at the start of last week because I heard it can prolong the veg cycle.
Wow.
I never understood how tough growing a couple of plants in a basement could be so tough.
First off, I split the mutant right down her supercrop. FAIL.
I propped up the branches and she is healing. Yellowing a little bit, but healing.
I had it too dry in the basement ambient, then I started up my exhaust fan, SO... ALL my plants went into shock after a day or so from the wind/dry....... OMG! FAIL AGAIN!
I guess one good thing came of it........ While I was inspecting the damage done by the wind and dry..... Guess what?
SPIDER MITES! Or Aphids or something!
I Swear.
It ain't easy.
So I gave the girls a bath tonight in insecticidal soap, then doused diatomaceous earth around........
Well, that was unnerving.
I had to type this all out again because the app crashed.
Number 1
Loaded with long white sticky hair. I've never seen anything like it. Smells like old fashioned acrid hydro weed, very faint though. This one will go 120 days by the looks of it and hopefully give a couple or 3 z's.
Number 2
Near finished.
Hairs are red. Sticky sticky honey trichomes and smells like moldy cheese.
I flushed the cocoa last night with 3 gallons of pH water. I figure she should be ripe by the end of February.
Small yield, but looks like DANK weed. Might get an Oz if I'm lucky.
The Mutant.
I don't know what to say about this beast.
I had to drop her down off the stand she got so tall.
She Begs, and I mean pleads for MORE NUTRIENTS.
She is getting nearly doubled what I feed the others. I don't understand how this one doesn't catch on fire I add so many nutrients, but still almost looks deficient - kinda light green. She Loves the Pk Though. I put nearly 10 ml per gallon more than I feed the rest! She dries out her cocoa every night. This one looks like it will go 150+ days and be a substantial yield. I'm hoping for 4 maybe 5 ozs if I can get number 2 cleared out of the tent soon and then more pars for this fatso.
Crystal coming on Number 2.
This one is going to be small. Oz - 2. No amber trichs yet. All milky. And lots of them. This should be pretty good smoke.
This one is close to harvest judging by the black purple and pink leaves she is growing. Pictures really don't do it justice.
Number 1 flowers are just starting to brown up the hairs. This one looks like it should yield around 4ozs. A really pretty plant. Lots of premature trichs.
The mutant.
This one is now a super mutant. Buds bigger around than my fist in some places. Some buds are 50 cms long!
I'm amazed. This is my first grow and wow! I only expected this after lots of practice. There's no telling what this one will yield as it's STILL shooting up colas! COVERED in long white hair. I'm feeding so much calmag and pk on top of her regular feeding just to keep her green. This beast is ALWAYS hungry. Because she is producing soooo much! As is on the plant, if it stopped growing right this second there's 5 Oz dry there.
There's nearly zero smell.
I selected this strain for low smell, but was over prepared for bad/overpowering household scents (that's a good thing!). It smells fresh, nothing like what you would expect from those literal trees that have grown in a couple of months. If you rub the plant, it's so sticky and then you smell piney lemons, but you could really grow this next to a drug dog and Rover wouldn't have a clue.
This is turning out to be a fantastic experience after all the ups and downs over the last 3 months.
Number 1
Number 1 is browning out her hairs and putting on crystal. Seems to be another few weeks to go yet.
Number 2
Fall colours, purple, black, brown yellow.
A real treat to the eyes. She smells sweet and dripping with resin. No real strong pot smell, and no amber trichomes yet. She is close to getting the axe! The super mutant needs the lumens!
Super Mutant
This thing is huge.
This thing is hungry.
This thing is loaded with buds as big as my arms. If every plant was like this, I'd need 1 crop a year. Some of these buds look like they're going to be 2 ozs each!
Mammoth monster!
Out of these 3 seeds, looks like I got 3 phenos. Although my light is awesome, I think it concentrates blue and red to different areas, making the plants grow at different rates.
Number 1 and the super mutant are very similar in structure, except for size. Number 2 was the last to germinate and first to flower. It has a different smell, structure and look. It was from a single promo pack of the NL. The other 2 were from the same package.
Will number 2 make it until next week, or will it be a harvest?
Paint does not dry, nor does water boil under a watchful eye.
I got a new supplemental light. Mars 600.
It was only $100.
Number 1 continues to brown out the hairs. Nearly all done now. Trichomes are getting milky. I trimmed off a larfy bid this week and speed dried it. Was awesome. Taste was amazing even with the speed dry.
Number 2 continues to put on a show. It looks like this plant was in a blizzard. So many trichomes, loaded, and continuing to put them on. No amber, but they are definitely getting whiter. On top of those purple leaves, she is dazzling, and smells like juicy fruit bubble gum. I tried a small bud of this as well, it was excellent.
Super mutant looks like she is going through a deficiency..... Again.... How much nutrients can a plant drink before it would be considered toxic? Just kidding, I'm from the probation era and have smoked green oil mixed with motor oil. 😊
So, in lieu of the awesome taste on the bud, I'm not doing a flush like everyone says for a week. Canna nutrients are pretty mellow. I figure if I flush the last day, I'll be ok. The super mutant, I figure this plant is going to grow forever and will definitely need a good flushing.
This was a brilliant plant, it kinda stunted a little bit, but that was my fault. It was so beautiful during flower, and the smell is not like weed at all, but more like juicy fruit chewing gum. Amazing and smooth to smoke as well.
Lonely in the garden this week. Not for long though.
Starting to see some fox tail on both the mutant and number 1.
Its time! Flush starts for the mutant effective immediately! She is already yellowing. Number 1 as well is starting to whither and show off some yellow colours.
No amber trichomes though! Just sparsely scattered.
I think this might be the last week for these girls.
