1/31/2020 Today was the day for cleaning buckets and changing water. There was brown goop in the water but it didn't smell. I'm guessing those are the nutrients just coagulating in the water. The roots are brown too but when I smelt them they didn't smell bad and I couldn't tell if it was slimy or if it's just wet. The brown came right off when I rinsed them. I switched net pots which was a hassle. I found that there was a sticker underneath the first net pot lid and the pieces of paper and adhesive were dropping into the water which was changing my pH level. Trying to fit the roots through those tiny holes in the net pot was hard. I ended up just cutting out a small circle to fit all the roots in the bottom of the net pot so they can reach the water reservoir. I had no idea how many roots it had until I uncovered them all. I really don't want to do that again. Breaking the little tiny roots trying to fit it through the hole was making me feel sad. I really hope I didn't do any serious damage. Added the Hydroguard to see if it will combat the algae and bacteria that's been growing within four days without having to buy a chiller. 2/2/2020 I went crazy last night and defoliated the bottom two fan leaves and when I woke up this morning I regretted it. Did some research, hopefully I didn't do too much damage.

It seems the discoloration is getting worse from the changes I made last night. I gave it 3 gallons of distilled water with the GHE nutes but this time I added the Calimagic because I noticed the browning earlier in the week. What is happening & what changes should I make?

Hello there, I use the GHE line of products as well, but in soil. You're in coco, doses are slightly different, but the answer is the same. This early on, I don't feel the high amounts of nutrients are necessary and this could certainly be why she's dipping out. The color and specking of your lower leaves I believe to be a Calcium and/or Phosphorous lockout. I've run into it more then once, myself and calimagic is the answer. You have already applied this and it should help pull back the spread and symptom's you're seeing. However, if you have a pH mal-adjustment, this will need to be addressed first. Keeping your pH at 6.0-6.2 will help your girls pick up the nutrients they are lacking while stopping the fast intake of macro/micro nutrients you don't want. Long and short of it is this. There looks like a Cal deficiency that was caused by a toxicity locking out that Cal (it was probably still getting some but not everything she needed). Highly suggest testing your reservoir pH consistently, backing off the heavily concentrated GHE nutes and letting her balance out her pH before upping the doses. Keep on the calimagic, this will not hurt them, and it appears that's what she wants right now. When all is said and done, those affected leaves won't come back, but all new growth should show NO new signs or symptoms of toxicities or deficiencies. This may take a little bit of time, but I fully trust it will balance out and your new growth will be un-affected. If you'd like to speak further about this issue or the GHE line of products, please throw me a PM and I can share my experiences with GHE in more detail. Cheers and don't panic! All will be well.👍😉
