Strain
This a report on OG Kush ‘98 a historic strain from my pal BudXs - hit this Canadian boi up with some likes. This strain is from Toronto more than Kawaii Leonard ever was. This is one of different strains in a sea of green so it is just one stalk.
OG Kush was one of the better growers in this generation of sea of green. Straight up, and the flowering stretch was large. It shows good potential to grow fast and shoot up.
During flowering, it showed some deep purple colours despite feeding or not feeding. It seemed destined no matter what, I will enjoy seeing if its clones do the same thing.
Smell during growing wasn't great, very fragrant, like perfume, it reminded me of the strain Black Rhino (not in a good way). On top of that, I noticed some bananas popping out of the bud. From stress? Genetics? Not sure. I let it hang around until week 7 of flowering then I cut her, mostly because I was out of weed.
Harvest was no issue, though I found some pollen on a very low branch. Leaf structure was easy to trim.
Upon drying and beginning of cure, I’ll admit the strain came around. What I find the flavour becomes is fragrant, flowery, perfume like, as expected. But it also exhibits some other interesting flavours, a deep sweet maybe, or sharpness, and it mixes in interesting ways. I found this strain did enhance bowls with some interesting flavour, but maybe not what I would often do solo.
The effects are there, sort of in between somewhat. I find this tells me I am generally stoned, so it feels just hyrbid - not sure if this is true.
I’m appreciative of this trial and don’t give up easily. I have another generation of clones, four OG Kush’98, that will test this all again. I’ll grow seeds from other GD users 10 times out of 10, regardless of quality. It was fun to pop a seed and then give thanks to a growmie 🙏🏻
Officially I’m leaning 6.5/10. Some points off for the bananas and pollen, for the at times funky smells and flavour, and the middle effects. Whats clear is this isn’t a Black Rhino repeat, I’ll actually vape OG Kush ‘98 and grow it again.
