So, this grow is courtesy of Fast Buds in an effort to show growers everywhere- the true potential of Fast Buds’ exquisite genetics. I was sent 3 Tangiematic seeds (beautifully packaged I might add) and I germinated all of them. I will say that these were some of the smallest seeds I have ever germinated but completely healthy looking otherwise. The 1st seed came up perfectly, the 2nd was upside down and had to be corrected and the 3rd didn’t quite make it out of the husk and died shortly thereafter :( The surviving two seedlings have now made it through their first week and are healthy and happy so far! The medium I’m using once again is CoCo Coir amended with organic, slow time release fertilizer by Gaia Green. The initial amendment rate is 4 tablespoons per gallon= 16 tablespoons per 4 gallon pot. The initial amendment rate is also a 75% grow to 25% bloom ratio= 12 tablespoons of grow to 4 tablespoons of bloom mixed thoroughly into the CoCo. By doing this, the CoCo acts more like a soil mixture and will respond best to a watering PH of 6.5-6.8. The slightly higher PH will allow the microbial life within the medium to flourish and essentially I am feeding the medium/soil which will in turn feed the plant. This is an extremely easy way of keeping my Cannabis well fertilized without bottled nutrients and it saves me a tonne of time and money. Till next time... thx again to Fast Buds for this Tangiematic trip!

So, week 2 was super slow for these two Tangiematic seedlings. Seems normal for this strain based on comparisons to other grows I’ve checked out on Grow Diaries but I’m still nervous. I was planning on topping these plants between 2-3 weeks but they’re no where near ready for that yet. I’m hoping that they pick up soon or else topping them may not be possible if they remain too slow/small. The larger of the two seedlings is extremely curled under (all of her leaves) and I have no idea why? She seems healthy otherwise so we’ll just wait and see what happens. I will be adding some CalMag now that these plants are moving into week 3 in an effort to avoid any deficiencies. My humidity is really low right now and my nighttime temperatures are below what I’d like too but I can’t a humidifier or an additional source of heat so the plants are dealing with it. Not ideal but it’s what I’ve got for now. Thx for checking out my grow and I’ll update again next week!

Well as you can see from the photos above, these two plants are still very, very small! I am super concerned at this point about the overall quality and quantity that will result from this grow. Obviously these plants are way too small/slow to even think about topping them. Everything in the tent is as it usually is but they’re just not growing as they should be :( I have decreased their water intake this past week due to a suggestion from a fellow grower who doesn’t feel that this strain does well with too much water. I am still giving them each a litre but I’m watering every third day instead of every second. Maybe this will help. I started the CalMag at the beginning of week three at a rate of 1 ml/gallon and I will increase it to 2 mls/gallon moving into week four. There is no LST going on yet either because there are no branches to open up. I noticed both plants were showing tiny white pistols on Day 18, which means that flowering is not far off. Apologies to Fast Buds but I am not impressed with this strain so far and if things don’t change soon- this is going to be a very poor grow. These are by far the smallest auto’s I have ever grown and I have no idea why. Until next week... fingers double crossed! FYI- some of the info above (daytime/nighttime temps, solution/substrate temps) are not correct. For some reason GD is not saving the info correctly when I save the weekly diary update.

Well, I pulled the sickly Tangiematic on Day 23 as she was just not growing properly and wilting severely (although not over/under watered). So, I germinated 3 of these seeds and lost one right at the start, pulled the sickly second in it’s forth week and I’m down to the last one. The remaining Fast Buds Tangiematic plant has finally began to grow a bit but is moving into flower at only 8" tall! Everything about this grow has not gone as usual and the harvest from this cycle is probably going to be one of my worst but I’ll get to sample this legendary strain. I will definitely strive to grow this strain again with better results in the future. For now, I’ll finish out this grow and report in again next week, happy growing everyone! 😢

The surviving Tangiematic has reached 10" tall and is fully into flower now. Overall, the plant seems healthy although she is extremely dark green considering that I haven’t added anything to the CoCo Coir grow medium since the initial amendment. This lovely lady is going to need some bloom nutrients soon so I will be watching her closely and adding within the next week or two. She is producing resin already and has a lovely citrus smell true to this strain’s name of Tangiematic= tangerines! I’m watering every second day- 2 litres per feeding and I’m up to 3 mls of Calmag per gallon as well. Thanks for stopping by, stay healthy and calm amongst all of this Covid 19 craziness and happy growing everyone! 😷

Welcome fellow growers. Hoping everyone and their families are healthy, safe and observing social distancing. It’s the end of Week 7, Day 49 for the remaining Fast Buds’ Tangiematic- this is the only surviving plant left from the original three seeds that were germinated back in early February 2020. The first died during germination partially trapped by the seed husk, the second was pulled from the tent at 4 weeks old as it was not growing normally and the third/final plant has it’s problems too! It’s still only 10" tall, too dark and not budding properly. The buds are super hard but very small and not plumping up at a normal pace. The buds have lots of resin and it smells good but something about the appearance and distribution of the trichomes just seems off. This has been a very disappointing grow and I don’t know where I went wrong? The other Fast Buds strain (purple lemonade) that I have in the tent with this last surviving Tangiematic is doing great, thriving as usual so I don’t feel this is an environmental concern. Same grow medium, water supply and organic fertilizer for both strains yet the Tangiematic grow has not been very successful. I’ve seen this strain produce large plants with large yields of gorgeous bud for many types and levels of growers- from novice to expert, soil to aquaponics- this strain usually grows easily/well for just about everyone. I would welcome the opportunity to grow the Tangiematic again because I know that this is one of Fast Buds’ flagship strains and I don’t feel that this grow has done it justice. I believe the hype about the ease of growth, large plant/yields and high THC associated with this strain and I intend to prove that with a re-grow of the FB Tangiematic! I did give her a small bump of Gaia Green Organic slow time release fertilizer in Week 6 at a quarter dose of the initial amendment- so 4 tablespoons (1 grow and 3 bloom) in an effort to help with the flowering process. For now, the remaining plant will finish out her last few weeks and hopefully produce a few smoke sessions so that I can form a well rounded review/smoke report. Much love and appreciation to all of our healthcare and frontline workers supporting the world through Covid 19, Thank You for your strength, courage and sacrifice during these historic times... You are all true heroes! 😷

This plant is just not right but she’s living out her remaining days in the tent until harvest. I checked her trichomes and the first few are just starting to cloud over. Still a few weeks to go... Once again, thank you to all of the world’s healthcare workers, first responders and other essential frontline workers keeping us healthy, safe and fed through Covid 19. 👍

Impossible to give a fair smoke report on the Fast Buds Tangiematic strain as I don’t feel that this particular grow was successful. The only surviving plant of the three original seeds started was not healthy or normal (compared to other personal grows or other growers results observed on GD) therefore the bud quality is poor at best. I will attempt this strain again in future as I believe the Fast Buds genetics to be strong in general.

So, what started as 3 free Tangiematic seeds from Fast Buds has not worked out nearly as well as I had hoped for. Other than being the smallest seeds that I had ever germinated, all 3 seeds were otherwise healthy in appearance (normal colouring, smooth with a bit of an egg shell shine to them). Unfortunately, only 2 of the seedlings made it through germination as one of them was trapped within the seed husk and even with help from me- could not grow out of it. It yellowed and withered away in only 2 days. Of the 2 seedlings that did survive, one of them was not growing normally and was only 2-3" tall at 4 weeks old. I removed that seedling from the tent to make room for a more productive plant. The surviving Tangiematic was extremely dark green in colour from about 2 weeks on and stayed far too short, only growing to 10" tall in total! This plant was only fed once after the initial amendment yet showed symptoms of nitrogen toxicity throughout the entire grow. I’m not quite sure what went wrong with this grow, this strain so I decided to harvest her on day 70, the beginning of week 10. She only produced 26 grams- not quite one ounce of low quality bud that is currently in cure. I have sampled a joint and first impressions are somewhat harsh with hints of citrus/pine and it doesn’t have much potency. Better luck next time with the Fast Buds Tangiematic! 😢

Im wondering if there is a recent bad batch of beans. I had some grow like that when all my other plants ended up fine. Runt genes? I think it happens once in a while. Seems a few other growers on here recently have as well. I only say this because of the way my plants look next to yours. Identical. Ill grow the rest of the pack out and compare. Nice grows btw 5/5

@Abstraktive, agreed 100%! This was a seed issue.

Hello- thank you for finishing your Diary. I’m a few weeks behind yours and was following as my tangies had a slow start too like yours so I was interested to see how yours went. I do have to say now that mine have taken off and starting to fill out great so I’d say definitely give them another try. So crazy the buds don’t even have pistols I’ve never seen that - were the beans direct from fastbuds? I’ve got a g14 and green crack started. I can’t wait to grow there Lemon AK next! I haven’t grown for about 12 years and autoflowers weren’t really a thing then so I’m addicted lol! Thanks again for the diary!

@Peetay85, thank you for following along! Yes these were free seeds direct from Fast Buds (thank you again for the free beans) and I really have no idea what went wrong with this strain. As I had another Fast Buds strain in the tent with these Tangiematics and they have been quite successful, I can honestly say- I don’t think this was an environmental issue. Same medium, water and natural fertilizer for all plants in this grow yet horrible results for the Tangies. I will try again with this strain. Enjoy the Green Crack and consider topping that strain as they tend to become monster plants. I harvested 1 pound off of three plants just a few months ago and it’s definitely a favorite of mine. All the best growing forward!

keep feeding calmag every watering and cut the calmag last week of flush, nothing more you can do at this point but to make sure the plant is properly flushed.... should still get some decent buds out of it.

@GreenHouseLab, thx will do. Fingers crossed that I get something to try at least. Will try this strain again in future.

Take a look at mY diary at day 21 (above ground), tangie matic in 5.7l canna Terra soil perlite mix in plant magic old timer grow and rhizotonic, mine was 3 times this size at day 21 under an old mars hydro 300w 130 true watts Yours look to me like there's either not enough light or its too cold that's just my opinion

Momgrowsthechroniccommented5 years ago
@myspecialplace, I know they’re small, mine are usually 3 times bigger as well... major bummer.

myspecialplacecommentedweek 35 years ago
If that day time temperature is right that needs beefing up to at least 20 degrees celsius anything above 20 or below 30 anything lower than 18 stunts growth, I have mine between 25-27 during the day and 20-23 during the night
Momgrowsthechronic
Momgrowsthechroniccommented5 years ago
@myspecialplace, for some reason Grow Diaries will not save my day/nighttime temps or solution/substrate temps correctly. I am at 78 during the day and 65-68 over night and my solution temps are cool at 65 and substrate is around 70. Temps are good, humidity is low at 25% but otherwise things are as usual. Unfortunately my Tangie’s are just really slow. Thx for ur input though, I’m desperate for things to pick up or this is going to be a very poor grow- probably my worst! Cheers!

Lol same thing happening to me, day 12 of my tangie matics and they are both with leaves down and little yellowing, they don't like too much water

Hi, so I'm no expert but it looks like the leaves are shiny, waxy looking. Also the leaves seem dark suggesting too much nitrogen. The edges of the leaves are burnt and I fear that you have some sort of toxicity going on. I could be wrong just putting my 2 cents in. I hope you pull through best wishes from 🇨🇦🌱👏👊🙏

@Momgrowsthechronic, I guess that you can't win them all lol too bad but don't give up could be small but pack a serious punch fingers crossed!!
Momgrowsthechronic
Momgrowsthechroniccommented5 years ago
@WeedTheNorth, this plant has been way off from the very beginning! All 3 of the complimentary Tangiematic seeds had serious issues and this is the only survivor. This plant has only been fed once at a quarter of the initial amendment to the CoCo prior to being planted. But she’s been super dark almost from week 2 on and I’ve put a tonne of water thru her over the past 8 weeks. I had a suggestion that young Tangiematic plants don’t seem to thrive well when overwatered so I did cut back a little from my norm but nothing has helped this plant! The other 3 plants in my tent are doing great so I’m stumped on this one, letting her live out her days now. Hopefully, she provides enough to be able to do a smoke report but i’m concerned that the overall quality of the bud is going to be poor. She’s just not right. 😢
the end.
