W1: Things are going average I guess. Got my beans to finally break ground. All came up with shells still on. Re-buried and wet soil directly on seed Double Grape took longer than the rest. After I removed the shell, it was discolored and has been growing at a fraction of the pace of the others.

W4: They are in full flower. I was surprised. I figured they had at least another week to go considering how short they are. I'm seeing an issue with Ghost Toof. The lower leaves are burning it seems. I feed them water, 3 day's later compost tea, 3 days later a light top dressing of Nature's Pride Bloom.

I'm seeing an issue with Ghost Toof. The lower leaves are burning it seems. It looks like it could be a K(Potassium) issue, or possibly nutrient burn. Also, Chem Bear seems to claw quite a bit. I don't think I'm overwatering... so maybe a Nitrogen issue?

You have leaves tips that are dried and it's can be because of the high temps or because of some over feeding but your temps are goods ( day & night ) & when I take a look at the dark green colour of your leaves it makes me think about a Nitrogen excess / Nitogen abundance so a Nitogen ecxess can create a nutrients lockout and then create an early senescence ( se,escence is a natural phenomenon , in the late flowering the cannabis plants are tending to loose their colours and get slowly yellow before harvest ). The clawing on the leaves combined with the dark green colours is clearly showing a nitrogen excess as the clawing is a well known sign that appears when the nitrogen amount is too high . Generally to reduce the N amount in the soil you can flush your medium with fresh water to "reboot" your soil , for exemple if your pot is a 10L one then you can add 5L to flush ( lil flush ) or 10L ( big flush ) , or you can change your watering routine by stopping the nutrients during 2 or 3 watering to let the plant use the nutrients already available ( but a salt build up is better fixed with a flush ) I am inviting you to type those words in google : "cannabis nitrogen excess signs" , "cannabis leaves clawing" ; "how to fix cannabis nitrogen excess" You can also check the PH of the soil or of the water runnof but I can't clearly observ ant ph issue signs on your plants

W5: Water, Compost Tea, Water with NP top dressing. Seeing browning of tips on all plants now. Yellowing on GT lower leaves much worse. Chem Bear(freeebie) is frosting up already. It's been the most vigorous plant the whole time, but CG and GT are right behind. Double Grape is a runt. I would probably kill it and replant a new seed if this wasn't my first grow. I'm letting it go to see what happens.

W6: Things seem have to have normalized. I did a good flush and then let the dirt dry out quite a bit. The tips are still burnt a little, but it hasn't spread. I think I'm doing a better job at keeping the soil moist without overwatering. I fed them water, compost tea, and then 1/3 the recommended dose of NP bloom. I cleaned up the smaller buds and lower leaves last night. Double grape is such a runt. I don't think I'll get a bowl out of her. Day 44: About 25% of the pistols on the CG have turned color. Lots of trichomes everywhere. I don't have a loupe yet.

If I have a nutrient that says to feed them X per gallon weekly, is it better to feed it a little at a time throughout the week or all at once? Or does it not matter? Is checking trichomes with a jeweler's loupe the best way to tell if a plant is ready?

Hi @bellevegasj it is always good to start with a 1/3 of the minimum dose recommended by the manufacturer and gradually increase as the plant develops. I usually feed them every 5 days for vegetative growth and every 4 days for flowering, twice a week is what I think is ideal. The best way to observe trichomes is with a 30X or 50X microscope with light. you can find in any growshop for 15 $ -20 $. good luck mate 🙏👍

W7: Things are going well. Watering less, but every other day. I did a day of about half recommended strength Nature's Pride and 1 day of compost tea. Finally got a pH meter this week and will check it and do a flush tonight. Ordered a loupe so I can check the trichomes. Until then, I'm using my wife's nikon. I can definitely see lots of amber on the leaves of the Cosmic Gold, but it's only 50 days old. I accidently stressed it and it started flowering early.

My Cosmic Gold is a Mephisto cross of 2 strains that are supposed to go 65-70 days each. I accidently stressed it, stunted it and it started flowering a little early. It's now day 50 and I can see amber trichomes at the top. Mostly milky lower.

W8: Watered with rain water. Leaves are yellowing. Doesn't seem like the CG is fattening up still, but I'm not certain. Trichomes are browning. Will probably take down by next Saturday at the latest.

W9: Harvested the Cosmic Gold D65. Fed with compost tea and water the last week. Through into the MyHerbsDryer for 4 days. Will taste and put in jars for curing after that. Fed a top dressing of Nature's Pride to the other 3. They're bulking up slowly.

I just harvested my first grow this week. I threw it in the myherbsdryer for 4 days. It's been super humid here lately and a couple of the stems were still bending, not breaking, so I threw them in for another day. Everything is dry. As I was putting them in the jar to cure, I noticed 1 bud that smelled. It's the CDLC x 3BOG freebie. It literally smells like a mothball. Loud, chemically and offensive. I don't see any mold with the naked eye. I've been waiting on my microscope to show up, and yesterday received a message that the order was cancelled and I'll have to order a new one. Should I throw it out? Should I throw the entire plant out? I have it in a separate jar currently.

I noticed 1 bud that smells bad. It literally smells like a mothball. Loud, chemically(it's a Chemdog cross) and offensive. Opened bud, but I don't see any mold with the naked eye and don't have a micro yet. Should I just throw it or the plant away? I'm not sure what to do...

Hello.. Hope you are well.. Just place ur herbs in a cool dark environment until crispy then wen u place in jars dont pack tightly.. U want air around buds so thry dont get that musty smell.. If u cant see mould i suspect it shud b ok.. Just make sure ur herbs are dry b4 putting away to cure.. Stay safe.. 👍🍀
