eggman A new grow - 8 Ball Kush from Barney's Farm. I got this seed for free from Barney's when buying some others.
Secret Jardin DS60: 60x60cm = 0.36m2
200W DIY LED: 4 x CREE CXB 3590 @ 1400mA (Max)
4L fabric pot with Plagron Batmix substrate
I germinated in jiffy pots for the first time which worked a treat. This seed sprouted after 2 days and then immediately transplanted and put in the tent under 24/0, with the light dimmed.
I sprayed Rhizotonic around the jiffy pot whilst transplanting and have been spraying around the roots when dry.

eggman Plant looks healthy so far.
I have just been watering slightly around the roots when dry, and adding a tiny bit of Rhizotonic.
The humidity has been a bit low because the extractor fan is too strong for the tent. I think I need a fan speed controller but i'm not sure where to buy one or what i'm looking for.

eggman Some more obvious growth this week, still looking healthy to me.
Humidity remains a bit low but light, airflow, temperature and watering I think are all ok.

eggman It is getting proper watering now and being fed with Bio Grow. I still spray the leaves every now and then with water that has a little bit of Rhizotonic in there. Also helps to increase the humidity temporarily.
The plant has grown a bit, but not as fast as one of the Vanilla Kush it is sharing a space with. The plant does look healthy though so I have high hopes.

eggman The 8 Ball Kush is looking good over the past week. I have just kept watering with runoff every 2-3 days (when dry) and it keeps growing. It is less densely packed than the Vanilla Kush it shares the tent with. But looks healthy overall.

eggman About half way through the week I trimmed a few fan leaves and tied the top down to get some more light to the lower branches. It seems to have worked and the plant still looks healthy.
It's been another steady week of watering when dry with 2ml/l of Bio-Grow

eggman A decent week with some good growth for the 8 ball. More training to keep the canopy nice and level. I have a feeling this plant is going to stretch a lot when it switches to flower and it might be difficult to keep it down.

eggman This is the final week of veg. Will switch to flower in the next few days now.
The 8 Ball is a bit longer than the Vanilla Kushit shares the tent with. I have had to keep using LST on the main stem on the 8 Ball to keep the canopy level

eggman On 05/05 I switched the lights to 12/12 to start the flowering period, also switched nutrients to match.
Some good stretching just in the first week already.

eggman Second week of flower is going well! Starting to see plenty of pistils emerging and a decent amount of new growth.
This 8 ball kush is a bit wider than the other plants in the tent and not so dense.

eggman 8 Ball Kush is looking lovely after 3 weeks in flower! It may be the healthiest plant in the tent by this point. It's starting to smell a little bit, when I open the tent I get an initial odour but it's nothing too powerful yet.

eggman Nice flower production this week. Looking forward to them fattening even more! Definitely going better than the last grow.
I am defoliating whenever I see some bud sites covered

eggman This week was another great week for flowering! Buds are definitely fattening and i'm starting to see some orange pistils.
I did notice a sign of nitrogen deficiency since the bottom leaves were turning yellow, so I upped the nutrients a little bit to see if it helps.

eggman Flowers have certainly fattened a bit, but i'm hoping for even more this next week.
I did use a higher concentration of bloom nutrients and things seem to be looking ok. The deficiency didn't get much worse.
I noticed that the humidity has risen so I've ordered a dehumidifier on next day delivery because it's too late to fuck up this grow 😁
Those buds are looking real good. It's part of the natural ripening process for the plant to draw nutrients from the bottom fan leaves thus causing them to yellow and fall off, I try to avoid Nitrogen during mid flowering onwards just based on previous experiences. Look forward to the next few updates - it will be an awesome harvest 👌
@HazeyBobby, great. Thanks for that answer. I think I should bring my nutrient schedule forward by a week or 2 for the next grow in this case. I am using the BioBizz nutrient chart which assumes an 8 week flowering period, so I may be a week behind where I should have transitioned to heavier doses of bloom fertiliser. Cheers!
@eggman, it’s common for plants to exhibit a nitrogen deficiency during the mid- to late-flowering period - pretty much where you may be in a week. This can cause plants to lose leaves and reduce yield as the nitrogen exits the old growth for new growth. Best way I have found is to gradually switch over to bloom fertilizers to ensure that you don’t run into a nitrogen deficiency during flowering. This essentially allows the plants to store enough nitrogen until the end of the flowering period. I'm not sure adding Nitrogen after deficiency symptoms in flowering aids. I maintain a high dose of N until pistils show (which is typically 2-3 weeks after switching the light regime).
