Another run at Super Silver Haze! I love this strain and have grown it before. These three plants are regular clones of Super Silver Haze Clone 2019 (II). The distributor is unknown. I have read the genetics as Skunk, Northern Lights, and Haze. I have been flowering it ten weeks. Good sativa with great effects. This is going to be sea of green flowering, so maybe one transplant after this.
I have each in a separate container. I repotted a week ago. One had a weak root structure. I used HP Pro Mix as the primary, and side filled with a mix of 10 HP Pro Mix: 5 worm castings: 1 Fox Farms Happy Frog soil. So I have just been giving water. This is day 61.
My veg. tent is a 4’ x 4’ space, DIY, hung mylar. I have a 300 watt full spectrum light, and another smaller pod which is 1/6th of that.
Day 68 for these three Super Silver Haze clones. Lots of growth and nutrient absorption. These ones will eventually work their way through all the soil amendment and I will transplant once more, before the eventual flowering. Just irrigating with water.
Day 75 since cloning this batch of sea of green Super Silver Haze clones. Everything is still looking good. Just giving water. I transplanted into slightly larger, and final containers. I filled the bottom with BX Pro Mix, and only side filled with soil amendment. The side fill was 40 BX Pro Mix: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog: 5 worm castings: 1 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 1 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 1 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Blood and Bonemeal pellets: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 alfalfa meal compost: 1 pulverized egg shells.
Day 82 since cloning the three Super Silver Haze sea of green. Everything is looking good. Probably three weeks out. Nice and green, one plant in particular is huge! I’m only giving water. No issues at the moment.
Day 89 since cloning this bunch of Super Silver Haze clones. Flowering is nearing, although I am attempting to gain more size first. I will be stripping the vegetation this week and maybe cloning too. Burning through the soil amendment. Things are looking good!
Day 96 since cloning the Super Silver Haze trio. Things have gotten bushy and tall. I want to keep things manageable albeit smaller yield and so this is the last veg. update. There is much nitrogen left so just water. I stripped things down after photos. And though it pained me, I forwent many clones. It just doesn’t yield enough. I’ll eat my words if these clones do well.
Day 103 since cloning these Super Silver Haze. One week of flowering complete, nine weeks to go. Its a long one but worth it. I’ll only be giving water through stretch to make sure the soil amendment gets used. Looking good!
My flowering tent is a 6’ x 4’ hung mylar DIY like my veg. tent. I have two 300 actual watt full spectrum LEDs similar to my veg. tent, and 96 watts of yellow spectrum LED supplementing.
Day 110 for the Super Silver Haze. Two weeks of flowering complete, eight weeks to go. Looking good, lots of stretch, hints of bud sites forming. I haven’t given any food, just water. Lots of time left, patience is a must for SSH!
Day 117 for these Super Silver Haze Clones. Three weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. Looking good so far. I’ve only given water although this week I will likely give some food. This strain is usually stretched, sativa like.
Day 124 for Super Silver Haze. Four weeks of flowering complete, six weeks to go. I fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). That was earlier in the week and so it will be a watering next before bouncing back to food. Long flowering time so plenty of time to wait.
Day 132 for these Super Silver Haze Clones. Five weeks of flowering complete, five weeks to go. Last irrigation was water so they are due food tomorrow or the next day. As my other SSH experiences, not the biggest buds but bunched up the branches. The smell is very nice, pungent, musk. I turned my output ventilation on finally and I can tell it frosted these ones up a bit.
Day 138 for the Super Silver Haze. Six weeks of flowering complete, four weeks to go. Last irrigation was 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I’ll be able to squeeze one more feeding in - a testament to how long a flowering period SSH has. The buds are bunched and smaller but drenched in resin. Super sticky to the touch.
Day 145 for Super Silver Haze. Seven weeks of flowering complete, three weeks of flowering remaining. Apologies upfront for picture quality - its been a busy week of real life work, cannabis chores, upgrades, and pest management. I’ll reflect the lighting change next week, but as temperatures rise it exposes pest management. It was time to completely go through my tent, even in flower, clean, defoliate, and spray down with a little 90+% ethyl group alcohol. As I’m nearing the end and based on observation, these were the only plants I didn't treat directly - no spray or even defoliation really. In flower, I’d like to keep to the proven strategy of lady bugs, but the local provider is a couple weeks out of supply, and moving around amongst businesses is complicated these days. Thus, bad photos in my garage (I was taking the task seriously), and the disappearing vegetation. I’ll feed one more time in the coming days.
Day 152 for these three Super Silver Haze clones. Eight weeks flowering complete, two weeks to go.
A general address: finally reflecting the new high pressure sodium flowering light. This replaces the LEDs in my 6’x4’ tent. It is a 600 watt Vivosun HPS setup! Still adjusting to the benefits and drawbacks compared to LED, for example taking photos. I have experimented with plastic filters and have been shown some cheap products, for now just taking pictures with my phone with “dramatic” effect seems to be the best combination of colour and resolution for now. I’m not lugging them in and out based on the location of my tents. I will also shout-out to Hellishjam and BudXs 🤙🏻🇨🇦 who are constantly supportive and encouraging.
I benefit where SSH’s flowering time is so long. They were able to reap some reward of the HPS as they definitely were able to swell a bit more than past experiences with the strain. Nice and frosty, just pungent with smell. I want them to ooze for at least another week. I’m trying to rotate the plants that were flowered under LED, and start fresh, so I may chop these at nine weeks, a week early. At this point I’m just giving water regardless.
Day 159 for these three Super Silver Haze clones. Nine weeks of flowering complete I am currently flushing then outdoors (in a wild wind/rain storm) and thought I’d snap some natural light picks. Harvesting tomorrow ... because I’m a fiend and want more bud! What can I say. This is a ten week plant so it is certainly done swelling by now, and has been really finishing up. It got only a bit of the HPS, but the little bulbs are nice and dense.
I went nine out of ten weeks with this one. The buds looked finished. Upon harvest I did notice what looked to be where some rot would start, at the base of some necrotic leaves, so its probably beneficial that I harvested when I did.
The process was water for two weeks, then a little bit of a dark period before harvest. I wet trimmed, and then bud washed before hanging to dry. The wash is two parts: one container of baking soda, lemon juice, and water; one container of water.
