Yet another attempt at Gorilla Bomb. Seems like a fast growing variety, but I repeatedly keep killing it. It has been linked to soil amendment and just overnuting in general. It seems this strain is sensitive to nitrogen and nutrients. The genetics are THC Bomb x Gorilla Glue #4.
These are regular clones. This is day 61. I transplanted last week so they have been one week in each individual container. I am planning on flowering sea of green style. So that means maybe one transplant after this. Most recently, I side filled with soil amendment, 40 HP Pro Mix: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog: 5 worm castings: 1 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 1 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 1 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Blood and Bonemeal pellets: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 alfalfa meal compost: 1 pulverized egg shells. The bottom and top fill was just HP Pro Mix.
My tent is a 4’ x 4’ structure of hung mylar, DIY. I have a 300 watt full spectrum with a smaller pod 1/6th the size of that again.
I am hoping to make it to the finish line, although there are other trials ahead of these clones.
Day 68 for these three Gorilla Bomb sea of green clones. Just chilling and vegging away. Nice and green, there is lots of food left to absorb. Just irrigating with water. I want to transplant once more before lining them up to eventually flower. So far so food. One has a little lean to it for whatever reason.
Day 75 since cloning and beginning this batch of sea of green Gorilla Bomb clones. Looking good, lots of green. I transplanted to larger containers and ultimately their final pots. I will be giving just water. I bottom filled with just BX Pro Mix, and then side filled with amendment. The amendment mix was 40 BX Pro Mix: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog: 5 worm castings: 1 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 1 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 1 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Blood and Bonemeal pellets: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 alfalfa meal compost: 1 pulverized egg shells.
Day 82 since cloning for the three Gorilla Bomb sea of green. Just continuous growth with a couple being very massive. Probably about three weeks out from flowering. I am only giving water as needed. Things are looking good so far!
Day 89 since Gorilla Bomb was cloned. This strain loves to grow. This is ideal, of course, but is going to make the timing tricky with this batch. I have about two weeks left until space opens up in flower for the crew. Just trying to burn off soil amendment, and they are huge! I have them trimmed and defoliated, they are ready to go. Lets go! Hurry up!
Day 96 since the Gorilla Bomb trio was cloned. One week of flowering complete, eight weeks to go. A testament to the growth rate of Gorilla Bomb! I can’t keep this strain down. It is overpowering in the veg. stage. The height on the stripped branches was already tallest in veg. Its a little hot, I know there is plenty of soil amendment left, but I also am about to harvest a Gorilla Bomb that was overfaded (probably). So, I put these plants into flower mid week when I suddenly had more room. They aren’t quite one full week of flowering, but close. These are already tallest in my flower tent pre-stretch! So you can see my issue. I will douse them in water and really get them to use up their nutrients. Its rushed, but god damn Gorilla Bomb is effective at go, go, go cloning and vegging.
My flowering tent is a 6’ x 4’ hung mylar DIY with two 300 actual watt full spectrum LEDs and 96 watts of yellow LEDs supplementing the spectrum.
Day 103 since cloning the Gorilla Bombs. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. The beginnings of the buds are appearing. I’m going to give water one more time to push out a bit more amendment before flowering food. For the rapidity of the cycle, these things are beast stalks. I bet they haven’t filled the pots. I’m usually wasting space/soil, but slowly getting better. I am currently vaping my first successful Gorilla Bomb yield ... wow, it is amazing. This is great news.
Day 110 for the Gorilla Bombs. Three weeks of flowering complete, six weeks to go. I still have only given water as they are content shooting up, and I want to use more soil amendment. Next irrigation will be flower food. Very impressed with the sheer strength of this strain, loves to grow. Easy on food, as I’ve learned.
Day 117 for the three Gorilla Bomb clones. Four weeks of flowering complete, five weeks to go. These plants are huge. Great genetics. Midweek I fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Stacking up.
Day 124 for Gorilla Bomb. Five weeks flowering complete, four weeks to go. I recently fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Nice, fruity, Gorilla Bomb smell. Even with the bud size, I can see the sugar leaves twisting after feeding. How can it be too strong? I feed quite light. Anyhow, still looking great.
Day 132 for the Gorilla Bombs. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. Stacking up nicely, probably ready to fade out now. Just unreal smell, fruity. Fruit punch. I love the smell of Gorilla Bomb. Last irrigation was water so I’ll get to feed one last time before the last two weeks of flushing.
Day 138 for these three Gorilla Bombs. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. I did give one more feeding of 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). It will be flushing with water here on out. The smell is unreal, totally fruity.
This is Gorilla Bomb by Bomb Seeds, these are three regular clones which were done quickly, as a sea. This really is an ideal sea of green strain: its easy to grow, vigorous, easy cloning, and doesn’t need large containers. In fact, I have another sea in smaller pots that are going to produce more bud than this grow.
I was able to really get the effective leaf fade again, which is part of why I chopped early. It seems Gorilla Bomb needs growth early, hit with food, and then it taps out fairly quickly.
The smell while growing is great, and even better when dried and cured. Very strong fruity, sweet aromas. You mostly get that flavour through multiple vape tokes too which is ideal. The back tone ends up being neutral, wood-like.
The effects are good, based in sativa, but not concussive. This is where this grow won’t get the elusive 10/10, everything else checked out. Good growth, decent yield, great flavour, ... but when I was just vaping Bomb solo for a few days, the lack of strength started to wear on me and my consumption increased. I’m not sure this gives me enough kick on its own - but the flavour and growth is elite.
My next sea of Gorilla Bomb should be left the full nine weeks so maybe that will rectify the back end effects and improve score. This would be one of the very best I’ve encountered though.
I harvested at eight weeks, out of projected nine, because of upgrades and my dwindling stock. This likely hurt potency a bit.
Standard process for me after a dark period, wet trim, bud wash then hang. First bucket in the wash is just baking soda, lemon juice, and water; the second is just water.
@Denzul, I’ve legit messed up the last two, by overnuting/locking out. I’d say the genetics are sensitive. The growth is very vigorous. The Gorilla Bomb roots are always most developed. Easy to clone.
