Day 29 - first day of week 5! I chose week 5 as the first week of flower after much research here at the GD. Most autos seem to transition into flower at the end of week 5. If I don't see any flowers by the end of the week I will edit this to another veg week.
Signs point to the start of flower. She's taller, and she has some clawing on some of the top fan leaves which means she's ready to increase her calcium load. Next feeding calls for more Herc, so we're right on schedule.
I also did some scrog training by bending the main top under the screen. I'm definitely lowering the screen for future grows. I want to start screening around the 3rd or 4th node. Tracey is so compact tho, most likely thanks to the Bloom Khaos.
I also removed 2 large fan leaves from the top. They were in the way and blocking lower sites from light. Other than that, she couldn't look healthier. Nice lush growth and a sweet smell from the leaves I removed.
Oh, one more thing. I've been fighting extremely cold temperatures at night. I have a small space heater in the same room as the tent that turns on after lights out. Haven't been able to see just how cold it gets down there.
Day 30 - First feeding of the year! Today was a supplemented tea, using Supre Myco Tea, SLF-100, Photosynthesis Plus, and 30 ml of Herc to top it off.
Day 31 - At this point the screen is merely a branch support. The top I bent over yesterday straightened back up. The line has some serious slack now. I'm afraid to bend it anymore. She is just to tall and the main branch is to thick to train. That's okay. I don't expect her to get very tall during her stretch.
Fed yesterday (day 10): Seedling strength feeding, 1 gal.
I overdid it with Olympus Up. With this nutrient line I'm shooting for 6.3 right now. The pH was 6.8, so I'll have to remember not to get ahead of myself next time.
I would also like to say I'm still not sure how the "nutrients" part of the diary works. The amounts I entered into my grow diary are nowhere close to the amounts it actually shows..
After getting to know how the Grow Diaries work, I edited this post to explain in a little more detail about the feedings for this week. In the nutrient section for this week I entered the total amount of nutes used for the week, as opposed to "per gallon". I'll pay more attention to this in the following weeks.
The seed soaked overnight in a solution of Zeus Juice and planted directly into 7 gal pot of Nectar #4 soil. Received initial "Seedling" strength feeding, 1 gal. The very next day I decided to rig up a drip ring feeding system for my scrog grow to make feedings easier down the road. I tested it out with another gallon of "seedling" feed, just enough for runoff.
The next feeding came almost a week later, shortly after I set the clock for veg mode. The soil was fairly dry and slurry test came out at 6.4 so everything looked good. This feeding included SLF 100, Photo Plus, and Myco Blast for beneficial soil supplements, and Herculean Harvest (for pH control more than anything). I will also mention these beneficials (SLF/Photo) are only added to a feeding once a week and not every feeding.
For the most part I'm following the guidelines of the NFTG feed schedule: feed, feed, tea, feed, feed, HH reset. This repeats throughout the grow.
Looking good!
I agree that laying off a few of the nutes are a good idea so the clawing doesnt spread. I'll be following your grow as it should finish the same time as mine.
This a killer looking grow you have going here. Nicely done. I see we are both using the Nectar for the Gods nutrients. How did you like them? I hear good things about them - it's my first grow with these nutes. Any advise/recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks - Zannabis7
@Zannabis7, this is also my first grow with the line, but I spent a couple months doing research and hanging out in the support groups on Facebook. Nectar for Dummies and Nectar for the Gods Growers are really awesome groups for beginners to ask questions. So far this is the only line I've used that hasn't caused me any problems at all, aside from me feeding too much lol
Looking good. I notcied your humidity is at 30%. Mine is too, but not really on purpose. The last few weeks it has dropped quite a bit and wont get above 35% even after a heavy watering.
Is yours on purpose? Do you see better results that low?
Day 20 - Today is tea day! I used Soil Blast and Kelp Blast, a couple of sample packs I got from Supreme Growers. Soon I'd like to brew my own tea, but for now it's all instant teas. 10 ml of Herculean Harvest was also used for 2 purposes: it drops my pH right where I need it every time, and also I wanted to start using my Bloom Khaos again. The double dose of calcium should be enough for the Khaos to facilitate it.
Day 17 - Today I noticed some slight clawing on a few fan leaves. I understand when using a synthetic line this is usually seen as a nitrogen toxicity. However, those using the Nectar for the Gods line will encounter "unique to Nectar" problems. This clawing is actually a calcium deficiency. The next feeding will get a double dose of Herculean Harvest. Until then I need to lay off the Bloom Khaos foliar spray.
