~ Debut ~ Acapulco Gold ~

My very first grow. Also growing Amnesia lemon along side but as I’m writing this in week 5 I have hurt the AL. Think I had it too close to the light and crisped up the leaves but is now pulling through a bit. Easy week with the AG, moist soil and I have been misting everyday when I’m home and placing a plastic cup over the top to keep humidity up. Seem to like it. I wont be using any added nutrients throughout the grow, Just miracle grow soil throughout. Started in small pots and will look at transferring the seedlings into 4 gallon pots. I used the paper towel method to pop my seeds. Using 1 led but will be getting another shortly.

Week 2 seeing the AG fly now. Looking healthy. The AL popped around 3 days later so is playing catch up but treating both the same. Same amount of water which is very little just to keep the soil moist and misting.

Week 3. All is well with the AG. transferring next week so nothing much to mention other than similar watering style. Misting a little. AL ~ working circumstances mean the plants could be alone for 4 days at a time. I got back this time towards end of this week and found the leaves to be like they are in my last photo. Not sure if they are burnt. Going to keep rolling with it and spray the leaves right down. I soaked them both in neem oil before I left them to keep the pests away as I found a gnat on the leaf of the AL.

AG ~ coming along nicely. Looking really healthy. Think I overwatered this week as the leaves started to droop so Will now be careful with that in the future. AL ~ not sure how it’s doing with not actually knowing the cause. Its still growing and the leaves look I’ll. Some have holes in and some look burnt. Prioritising the AG now with the light till the other one arrives.

AG ~ topped when I return from work. I have been bending the fan leaves out of the way and ended up snapping two of them off. Seems to have recovered well though. Gave them a water also. Now started to put some gardening wire around some stems to let some light in (LST). I have added defoliation but wasn’t on purpose and I snapped them by accident. AL ~ not looking too bad to say it’s not getting any main light. Poor thing. Not going to top it as not sure what stress it’s already had but will continue to grow. Only one week till my other light arrives!!
