“Beans tries Gorilla Bomb” yet again. This has been my most messed up strain so far, all on account of myself. I currently have a couple larger plants in flower, and a string of sea of green clones in veg. This is a second string of sea of green Gorilla Bomb clones, four in the group. This comes from Bomb Seeds and is a cross of Gorilla Glue #4 x THC Bomb. This will be sea of green style so two transplants and then flower.
The first transplant was into mostly BX Pro Mix. I side filled with a mix of 10 parts BX Pro Mix: 5 parts worm castings: 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog soil.
My lighting is a 300 actual watt full spectrum LED with a smaller pod, 1/6th of that.
Looks good, this is day 44 for the bunch. Just giving water as needed.
Day 51 for this quartet of Gorilla Bomb clones. Lots of fresh soil and amendment, lots growth. Gorilla Bomb genetics usually produce vigor. They all will get one more transplant over time before sea of green flowering. Just giving water. Up and atom!
Day 58 for this Gorilla Bomb quartet. Tough call, this strain shoots up so fast. These clones are already quite lanky. They haven’t even filled the pots yet. They are showing signs of deficiency too so I’m not sure. I top dressed with primarily worm castings and a very small amount of blood and bone meal. Based on other experiences I may just keep them in these containers and really push the sea of green. Unsure as of this time. I stripped everything down and took some clones after photos. One clone is significantly smaller.
Day 65 for these Gorilla Bomb clones. The good news upfront, vaping the first Bomb I have gotten to harvest, fantastic! As for the clones, deficiency kicked in hard this week. I wanted to flower them in these teeny pots, based on how quick they grew and how tall they are, so I top dressed with BX Pro Mix with worm castings and a small amount of blood and bone meal. I have only irrigated once since top dressing so it will take more time. If necessary I will feed with plant food.
End of day 68 for Gorilla Bomb. Fast turnaround, I’ve plopped the four into flower. Of course I still have the top dressing as a source of nutrients. You can see the green creeping back. I could always feed but I am not trying to overload things. Lets see what a smaller Gorilla Bomb can produce, I have slightly larger Bombs in flower slightly ahead.
Day 77 for these four Gorilla Bomb clones. One week of flowering complete, eight weeks to go. Spurting up fast, typical of Gorilla Bomb. And here I thought the next size container was reasonable, these things barely need any soil. Lovely genetics. Just water so far.
My flowering tent is hung mylar DIY like my veg. tent, my lights are two 300 actually watt LEDs with 96 watts supplementing.
Day 84 for these four Gorilla Bomb clones. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. The green has progressed and is going dark. I’ve has this happen before and nuked my first two Gorilla Bomb plants. I thought those cases were nitrogen excess, I’m not sure how that could be so this time around considering how small the pots are, and I’ve been giving water. Hopefully its just needing phosphorous and potassium. I’ll try food out next as we have passed stretch. Hoping this is just colour and nothing too drastic approaching.
Day 92 for these Gorilla Bombs. Three weeks flowering, six weeks to go. My suspicions were true (I think), the severe darkening was deficiency as the small pots ran out of amendment quick. I fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I can see the green has somewhat returned and its less blue. The question is do I continue with food...
Day 98 for these Gorilla Bomb clones. Four weeks of flowering complete, five weeks to go. Last irrigation was just water and so a feeding will come next. At least two of them are stacking nicely considering the pot size. Still a long way to go yet.
Day 105 for these Gorilla Bomb clones. Five weeks of flowering complete, four weeks of flowering to go. Apologies upfront for picture quality - its been a busy week of real life work, cannabis chores, upgrades, and pest management. I’ll reflect the lighting change next week, but as temperatures rise it exposes pest management. It was time to completely go through my tent, even in flower, clean, defoliate, and spray down with a little 90+% ethyl group alcohol. Yes, I’ll take the hit of the trichomes I dissolved and the stress to the plant, so pests don’t get out of control immediately under the new light. In flower, I’d like to keep to the proven strategy of lady bugs, but the local provider is a couple weeks out of supply, and moving around amongst businesses is complicated these days. Thus, bad photos in my back porch, and the disappearing vegetation. Last irrigation was 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag), so today I gave water.
Day 112 for these four Gorilla Bomb clones. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks of flowering to go.
A general address: finally reflecting the new high pressure sodium flowering light. This replaces the LEDs in my 6’x4’ tent. It is a 600 watt Vivosun HPS setup! Still adjusting to the benefits and drawbacks compared to LED, for example taking photos. I have experimented with plastic filters and have been shown some cheap products, for now just taking pictures with my phone with “dramatic” effect seems to be the best combination of colour and resolution for now. You especially lose the fading colour of the Gorilla Bomb. I’m not lugging them in and out based on the location of my tents. I will also shout-out to Hellishjam and BudXs 🤙🏻🇨🇦 who are constantly supportive and encouraging.
The buds are absolutely stacking and really giving off the typical fruity type Gorilla Bomb smell. I haven’t had this much bud at this point with this strain so I am very excited. I most recently fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). It does appear one of the four became a runt, it looks like it got too much nitrogen, or amendment in general? Not sure but it became obvious over time.
Day 119 for these four Gorilla Bomb clones. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. Looking lovely, minus maybe little runt, fade is coming along nicely. The smell is strong fruit. Its been awhile since I gave food, I may give one more feeding tomorrow. Otherwise, time to flush.
Day 126 for these four Gorilla Bomb clones. Eight weeks of flowering, one week to go. Just finishing up now. The scent is strong! Super sweet and fruity. I am really pleased with the swell, the HPS made a huge different if even for a couple weeks. Harvest is approaching ...
Day 130 for the Gorilla Bomb clones. I’m calling it nine weeks, time to chop! Now is as good as any, and with my tent undergoing pest treatment, might as well chop these as they weren’t doing too bad. I will be sure to give a good wash upon harvest. The smell of fruit, or fruit punch, is strong. Love the density that the HPS caused through much of their life. Some darkness, and then chop!
These four Gorilla Bomb clones just missed the massive mite storm that happened to my flower tent. Where Gorilla Bomb may have had some mites, it was far from an infestation and easily treated during harvest with budwash.
After some dark period I wet trimmed and then two stepped bud washed. The first is just baking soda, lemon juice, and water; the second just water. This is followed by hanging to dry.
Forgot the scoped pictures of trichomes, and just vaped the last bud! 🤬
