This seed germinated in about 3 days and was planted on the 7th of April. I will keep the pot inside and/or outside, depending on the temperatures at night. I live in Western Europe, so the temperatures could still drop very low (<5°C) this time of the year.
So far the seedling appeared to be in perfect condition. I will keep the soil moist all day.
The young plant popped up very smoothly.
A great and hot week, so perfect conditions in the greenhouse for all plants and especially for the Blackberry Kush. She grew a couple of centimeters and is looking fine with her first true leaves. Temperatures are going up to 22 °C, so that could be 30-35 °C in the greenhouse, depending on wind and time of the day. I water every day multiple times, because of the high evaporation.
3rd week has started now for my babies and they are doing well. I repotted my Blackberry Kush, because the pot became too small. Eventually I will plant her out in the garden, but not until there is no chance of freezing temps at night.
Week 4
Another great week with a lot of sunshine, but also the start of some more rainy days. Humidity has gone up to about 70-75% and sun has to make place for some heavy clouds sometimes.
The Blackberry Kush is doing just fine with being at almost 4 nodes at a height of about 15-16 cm.
Week 5
The 5th week has started with a lot of sunshine and many more to come. Today (2nd day of the 5th week), I will plant my lady in the ground outside the greenhouse. She will be accompanied by my 2 other ladies (Auto Banana Blaze). I prepared a seedbed 2 weeks ago with some soil that was already there, but also added some potting soil, blood meal, bone meal, some lava powder and some mycorrhiza. I watered the bed regularly so the organic nutrients could dissolve into the bed. I also mixed the soil of the bed properly so everything should be mixed well.
I planted her outside and applied LST to her, so she's bend as close to the ground as possible. Now I'll have to wait for the side branches to grow more so I could also apply some LST to them.
Week 6
This week started with a lot of cold nights in a row, so a slight discoloration of the top leaves to red/purple is already visible. Could also be the preset discoloration due to the strain's genetics. The Blackberry Kush is growing in a steady pace, with the main stem at its 5th node and the side branches elongating properly. Preflowers are visible, but not abundantly. She could grow a little more, so I will keep an eye on her this week and could maybe add a little bit of N-fertilizer to help her grow a little bit more.
No fertilizer was needed for her as she ends the week with a bushy habitus and a lot of nodes. She will be going into flower next week, with already a lot of pistils showing.
Week 7
This week started like week 6 ended, with a lot of sun and heat. She is getting a lot of them lately with a result of more bushy habitus and longer side branches. I quit further applying LST, so the main stem can grow up from now on. There are 3-4 nodes next to each other being horizontally and from there on another 3-4 nodes on the main stem growing up. I still need to do a little defoliating, so every growing point gets enough light and heat. I water every day about 1.5l, because of the ongoing lack of rain since 1.5 months. She has started to flower (finally!) and has started to smell a bit more.
Week 8
Second week of flowering and flowers starting to get bigger and more abundant. A little bit of pink in the pistils and the surrounding sugar leaves. Trichomes are starting really slowly to form at the base of the flowers. Plant has grown beautifully straight up after bending her over, so a lot of the lowest branches getting as much light as the main cola. Already starting to smell really fruity and pungent sweet if you hold your nose close to the small buds!
Week 9
I started this week with some more LST of the lower branches. I also did a bit of defoliation so the buds of the main cola are getting all the sun.
Week 10
Normally this would be the last week as supposed to what they tell me about the strain, but I already saw early in the veg process that it was going to take a little bit longer than 10 weeks. She's now fully turning purple and fattening up her buds. I gave her a little bit more organic P so there will be more focus on forming of flower buds.
The smell is also getting stronger and stronger to a really fruity, but powerful berry smell and I really love it!
Week 11
She is having her last weeks now while fattening up her buds. Plant smells really nice and very strong to the fruity-peppery side now, I really like it. Some pistils are still white, so I give her at least another week. The color is really dark purple and gives a good contrast with the green. Really curious about how this weed is going to taste and smell when finally cured.
