April 21st So gutted! 2 of the girls are not making it... I think it’s a mixture of poor lighting and overwatering... we’re continuing with 2 of the other girls, but we still have 1 more seed of GZ, do we plant another 1 or concentrate on the current 2? 🍀

hey there, there's notthing to trim here .... yet ! What you really need to do is add cal mag : those rusty spots are calcium deficiency , yellowing at the edges is magnesium deficiency. add this and a chelation agent like enzymes and your plant will double in size every week or so, you'll see. hope this helps ! 🚀

What type of water are you using? What PH is the water? Did you over water? I use tap water, I dechlorinate it by leaving uncovered for 24hrs, then I'll adjust the PH to the type of growing medium being used. Im using Canna terra and Bio bizz all mix and My water needs to be PH'D to 6.2 with or without feed in it. You have PH 7 on your charts and thats too high for coco and you'll get nutrients getting locked out in that ph range. I am a newbie on here but I have been an active grower in the past and have completed successful grows with canna coco. Any questions and I'll try to help. I'm currently growing Autoflowers for the first time and I have had to do a lot more homework recently. Goodluck👍

@MavAndy, Have you got PH up & PH down by any chance? If not, you need it. Try and get your water to 6-6.2 and only water when your coco is bone dry in the first inch of depth. There is a lot of things to take into consideration when watering. Size of your pots, type of growing mediums, size of your plants, temperature and humidity of your grow room things like that. Im guessing that your going to be transplanting into bigger containers because you couldn't finish a plant in something of that size. Coco is difficult if you haven't done proper research because it is a hydroponic system. after all. You need to be constantly feeding that system with nutrients and adjusting the levels as the plant grows. I grew 12 plants canna coco with the whole canna range and it was a headache, I never had 1 problem, but I felt it was too much effort, but I did learn a lot. https://www.growersguidetocannabis.com/a-guide-to-growing-cannabis-in-coco-and-perlite/

@OrtySmorty, We have a PH tester just now to test the girls water, it has come back between 6.4 (I will take a pic and add to the diary for you to see) how often should they be watered in coco? 🍀 kind regards and thank you for taking time out to help

@MavAndy, no nutrients, well I wouldn't. You need a ph pen if your growing in coco. You need to get your water ph range. It might seem like a lot of hassle but needs must. If it was say... canna terra or bio bizz all mix or some other soilless substrate other than coco, these mixes have self regulating ph properties in them but coco just doesn't. That's why you need to be testing your ph when you water with coco. I hope this helps.

@MavAndy, LED'S are just cheaper to run. I have two tents. I have 2000w Vander Life duel spectrum which only draws just a little over 200 watts and in the other is a Mars Hydro TS 600 which draws 100watts from the wall. I have the a fan in each which equals 40watts, and exhaust carbon filter fans in each which draw 29 watts each. That power draw is hovering around the 400w mark for the entire two set ups. Average that at 0.17p per KW Being used for 20 hours a day 7 days a week, and that adds up to around £35-40 per month, which is reasonable, especially for an Auto grow, if that was a photo period plant it would be less per month as I wouldnt need to have my lights on for 20 hours a day. Now think of that in terms of actually 600w hps, which actually draws 600w then you have all the other electronic things that go with that. LED'S are the way forward but you need to get reputable ones from well known companies that have solid reviews. Hope this helps

@OrtySmorty, So should we keep the 2 healthier ones and germinate another GZ seed? Would she be ok to catch up? We have a hydroponics set up and a 400w and 600w hps lights, for a 1.2x1.2x2m tent, we’ve read a lot of info on this site regarding led lights, and we was curious about the difference, as we were given the lights from a friend and don’t have the money just now to spend a fortune upgrading them (I’ve seen a lot of people use red and blue lights) and mention EC? We’re so eager and excited to learn about growing and we learn new things everyday. How are your autos going? 🍀 thank you for any info, much appreciated! MavAndy

Hey guys, awesome set up ^_^ I noticed you’ve had some problems with yellowing of your leaves, personally I think it looks like some light/heat stress also considering your schedule says that the plant is only 60cm from your light which is far too close for a 600 and 400 watt hid lighting (I have a 315 watt hid which I find I have to keep a good 2-3 feet away during flower and about 4ft away from a seedling). Check the manufacturers recommendations for optimum lamp hanging distance and adjust to that, all manufacturers recommend a different height so there is no black and white answer to “how high should my lights be” but you may find that it improves any issues you may have with your plant. Happy growing guys and good luck!!!

Hi guys, you will need a digital EC METER PEN, and also a digital PH tester pen. Here is the chart I used with canna.....http://www.canna-uk.com/electrical-conductivity My Auto's are plodding on just fine, I wish my AK47'S would grow a little faster but I am comparing them to my other plants which are being grown under a much more powerful light, and I should be more patient.
