I want to track this from the absolute beginning. I am starting the seedlings inside since it's still too cold to get outside until May24. Targeting end of May to move outside into a greenhouse.

I will be taking them in each night to make sure since there's still a risk of frost in the evenings. I'm migrate them outdoors completely in about a weeks time. I'll also transplant them into their final grow pot at that point.

Bad news this week, lost one of the seedlings so it's down to 4. I separated out 3 and sent them to a surrogate while I kept the most healthy looking one for myself. I transplanted MJ into its final pot and into it's best lighting position. In retrospect, I should have kept the plants in their grow containers another week before transplanting. The week started with two days of a cold snap that resulted in MJ not growing for at least 2 days, but fully recovered when the hot 35C days hit. End of week will have some lows that may require the plant to come in or have a good cover to not be affected.

The start of this week had significant daytime and night time lows, but started to move up to high 20's towards end of week. I covered the plants to prepare for the colder temperatures and it seems to bode very welll during the darker cold days. Upcomign week has a couple cooler nights and storms, but should end with high 20's again. If all is well, I may start LST this week.

This week has been good overall. Lots of growth and towards the last couple days of the week, I started to get new sprouts from the leaf segments. -- I started testing with some low stress training this week similar to how I did my bonsai trees and they seem to be very responsive so I'll start to wrap these around the base of the pot best I can over the next couple days. -- Additionally, to promote the new sprouts to grow, I'll do my first pinching and try to clone what I have using rooting hormone from my bonsai trees. This is more of a fun test to see what wil happen. -- Next week, I'm going to change up the nutrients for the next phase of the vegetative growth cycle.

This week, the plant really started to explode. -- I began low stress training and had to keep up on it almost each day by the weeks end. The height didn't change due to this training, but there was significant growth. -- Began to more shoots at the intersections and grow significantly. -- Noticed toward the end of the week that a leaf or two started to get some yellowing in spots. I felt that this was due to over nutrients so I flushed with clean water and that seemed to work perfectly. -- I will cut back on the nutrients next week to lower amounts of micro.

Plant is loosing more leaves towards the bottom. Will start to do some pinching and pruning the next week to focus the plant's energy on the new shoots.

It's been a very hot week and the plant has been doing well. Needed to remove some of the first leaves that sprouted due to browning. I believe somewhere because it was growing against the plastic bag I had around the pot and others because it's making lots of new shoots. -- Moved it to a new enclosure I built a few weeks back to give it more space to veg out. I'll start building a lattice of sorts when the buds start to keep them from flopping over, but I believe I have time for that. -- Watering increased as well because the plant seems to be consuming more now. I'll be keeping a closer eye on it over the next few days to make sure it stays hydrated and fed.

More growth this week, There seems to be lots of upward growth with large segments between the leaves. It's possible it's becoming a bit light starved due to the darker days outside and the coverage of some trees in the area. This is something to keep in mind for next time.

Lots of new sprouts this week and did some trimming. I'll start to push the plant into flowering at this stage since after August the temperature outside will start to drop. -- Still concerned that the plant is being light starved leading to long segments in it's growth. -- Trimmed lots of spots to get the plant to push more vegetation, we'll see if that will hurt the flowering phase which I will being next week by blocking the light to 12 hours / day.

The plant has grown quite big now and I've started the 12 hour flowering cycle to try and kick it off. Using black construction garbage bags to cover the greenhouse, it seems to be working, but we'll see next week. -- I'm still concerned about the sparsity of the leaves based on the lengths of the segments. I'm pretty convinced that it's lacking enough light prior to this point since the leaves on the trees in the area have filled in quite a bit. -- I'm starting to see more leaves towards the bottom yellow and fall off so I've started to prune them out to push as much as I can to the top. -- The growth has actually started to hit the top of the greenhouse I made for it so I had to do some additional training of some of the longer growth stems to bend them around the plant. It seems to be working, but I'm going to have to drop the humidity a fair amount in the next stages. I'll start to raise the bottom of the greenhouse off it's base to allow more air circulation. -- Finally, I moved to the flower nutrient stage and cut out the Grow completely and doubled the Bloom. -- Just a note, I haven't been using any Ph balancing, I've just been leaving my water for 24 hours after filling my container from the tap. THe hope is that this will allow the chlorine and other things to burn off.

It has begun. The buds have started to form... really small, but they are forming. The smell has also gotten a bit stronger now. -- The greenhouse is definitely too small and I need to raise the height of the top. It's very apparent that the plant shot up so fast because of the lack of light. I see this because the tops of the shoots are much more dense in their leaves. Next time I'll need to make sure to watch for that and maybe get a better grow system.

- Flowers are starting to show small light coloured hairs and the buds are definitely getting bigger. -- The plant has completely grown out of its greenhouse and is doing well. -- Colder temperatures during the evening and the day have started and towards the end of the week most of the day. - Flowering has definitely started. It's getting multiple points up each stem that looks as though they will combine into a larger bud. -- The temperature has started to get colder and I need to watch that it doesn't get much colder and hurt the plant. Ideally if I can harvest in a couple weeks, It would be the best time, but we'll see.

Buds are getting bigger. Did lots of trimming of excess leaves and dying leaves. -- Very concerned about the temperature as it's been quite cold for the past week. It has dropped down to 10C at night and there have been some overcast days. The coming week looks more sunny, but I'm running out of time in the outdoors and I feel the buds are still not at their optimum size and crystalline structure. -- Accidentally clipped a small branch that had a bud starting, dried it and gave it to my neighbour who said it definitely had a nice smooth feel from it. That was from a bud a couple weeks ago so I'm sure it's even better now. -- I'll try to push this into the beginning of October which gives me a couple extra weeks, but I'll need to consider a way to keep the plant warm if the temperature drops too low.

Buds continue to grow larger and the larger leaves are slowly dying off. When the large leaves start to brown, I pick them off which is leading to the buds continuing to grow larger. -- Crystals are becoming quite prominent and I'm monitoring them daily to see when they start to become more amber in colour. Currently, they still shimmer silvery in the sun. -- The temperature the past week started to warm up and will continue through the next week. I will likely look to harvest in the next few weeks before the temperature gets too bad and we get frost.

Continued this week trimming excess dying leaves from areas and feeding like crazy. -- We had a few warm days which really helped, but rain over the next few days got my plant a bit wet. Sun came out for a few and dried it up today, but still paranoid about bud rot. Seems to be just fine so far. I'll monitor over the next few days. -- Still some not super cold weather in the next week or two so we'll push things out as far as possible until I'm ready for harvest. -- Checked the colour of the crystals and they're still silver, once they start to turn amber.... it's time. :) -- Buds are getting much denser.

Well today was harvest day and I have to say that I got way more than I expected. I could have pushed it another week, but based on the temperature and rain forecast I chose to do it today mainly because there was a frost warning overnight. The buds are hanging now for 10 days to dry out then they'll go into jars for their final period before giving them a try to see how they turned out. I'll likely post one last update just to close this off, but overall super happy with the results and I had lots of fun. Can't wait until next year.
