Seed planted in 10L Canna Coco Coir in fabric pot. Coir treated with CalMagXtra and inoculated with Myke Flower Myccorhizae + Seaweed (NPK: 0.1-0.1-0.5). I used about a cup and a half of the Myke (which also contains perlite). The pot was placed under 45w 6500K flourescent tube light in 2x2x4 grow tent and remained for first week after sprout from soil. The substrate remained adequately moist during first week after sprout. White vinegar is used as PH down.
Day 1 - sprout from dirt, veg spectrum (45w)
On day 8 plant was removed from grow tent and placed in 2x3 closet under LED lights in veg spectrum using about 175 true watts. First water after planting was on day 8 after sprouting from dirt.
Day 8 - 1 cup PH'd water, veg spectrum (175w)
Day 11 - 1.5 cup CalMagXtra (1/2 strength)
Day 13 - 1.5 cup Micro, Bloom (1/2 strength)
Temperature started to go above 30 degrees this week, so added a fan to bring temps down a bit. Switched to full spectrum (about 375 true watts). Also added a support stick as plant wants to lean. So far I really have no control over RH%, but plants seem to be doing well over all.
Day 15 - switch to full spectrum (375w)
Day 16 - 2 cup PH'd water
Day 18 - 3 cup Micro, Bloom, added fan
Day 20 - 4 cup SensiCalMagXtra, added support stick
At the beginning of this week I noticed that the top leaves were looking sort of pale with dark veins - possibly an iron deficiency? Doing online research I realised that my PH was a little bit high for just using coco coir, so with the next feed I lowered the PH to 5.5. By end of week leaves look to be normal. Mid way through the week one of the cats snuck a nibble on a shade leaf, but no lasting effects from that. Bad kitty!
Day 23 - 3 cup PH'd water - PH lowered to 5.5
Day 25 - 6 cups Micro, Bloom
Flowering has started and the plant has started to stretch. This week saw sporadic wilting/clawing, so been trying a few things out to combat possible overheating and/or overwatering. Still figuring out best light to plant distance with new light.
Day 28 - 3 cup PK 13/14 (3ml/L), first pre-flowers
Day 30 - 6 cup PH'd water
Day 32 - 8 cup Micro, Bloom
I believe that the clawing and drooping problems being expeirenced were down to heat and low RH% so have been adjusting light heights and air flow periodically each day. PH is now raised to 6. In images this week I have included a garden shot showing the difference between this Indica dom and the Smoothie sativa dom I also have going. They are only a day apart in age.
Day 37 - 4 cup PH'd (up'd to 6 now) water
Day 39 - 2 cup Sensizym / 2 cup CalMagXtra (2 separate mixes)
Day 41 - 4 cup Micro, Bloom
Day 42 - 6 cup Big Bud, Bud Candy
Week 7 went well. She had a big stetch and I have added AN Nirvana to the feed line-up.
Day 44 - 4 cup PH'd water
Day 46 - 6 cup Nirvana
Day 48 - 6 cup Micro, Bloom
This week saw a power outlet failure and I had to move the plants out of the closet and into the smaller grow tent. I was only able to fit the Wills LED. As well, due to the cramped space, I bent the main stem over a bit, decreasing the height a couple inches or so. I won't mark this down as LST in the journal as it is so minor and I don't plan on doing any more <<edit - 2 weeks later, after seeing how this minor bend effected growth, I have decided to add LST>>. By end of week the power outlet was working again and the plants are back in the closet under full lighting.
<plug outlet failure-moved to tent w/Wills LED only>
Day 50 - 6 cup Big Bud, Bud Candy
Day 52 - bend main stem
Day 53 - 6 cup Nirvana
Day 55 - 7 cup PH'd water - returned to closet w/full lights
Apart from a spike in heat, this week went straight forward. She is a big bushy plant with lots of side branches. The top buds are getting thick and trichomes are starting to spread. I gave a mini-flush as this is a longer running strain than the Smoothie. She is starting to produce a delicious aroma of berries and hashish. Interesting observation: I have found some even-fingered leaves on this plant, something I have not seen before, 8 fingers and 10 fingers.
Day 57 - 10 cup Micro, Bloom
Day 59 - 9 cup Bud Candy, Nirvana
Day 60 - 3L PH'd water pre flush
Day 63 - 10 cup Micro, Bloom
Been checking the trichomes this week, they are progressing quick, so second feed this week I started a slowish flush. At end of week I removed the yellowest shade leaves from the bottom to mid level. Increasing amounts of Ph's water this week to flush. Now will let the medium dry out good and check trichomes mid-week 11.
Day 65 - 2L Bud Candy, Nirvana
Day 66 - 2L PH'd water
Day 68 - 3L PH'd water - trichomes 95% milky, 5% clear
Day 69 - defoliate lower yellow fan leaves
Day 70 - 4L PH'd water - trichomes 99% milky, 1% amber
In the jars this strain has a strong, delicious and unexpected aroma of smoked cheese and black pepper. I have never encountered a strain that smelled this way and it is hard not to keep opening the jar and having a sniff. Smoking a joint, she has a lightly cheesy "weed" flavour on the inhale and spicy with a hint of berries on the exhale. The effect is very narcotic and mellow, and cheerful without being giddy. It doesn't knock me down but it slows my pace. It also brings on the munchies pretty good. I expected this to be on the Indica side and harvested (day 77) with predominantly milky trichomes (and maybe 5-7% amber - no clear) after removing shade leaves (day 74) and putting into darkness until chop. Taken further I think this strain has strong couch-lock potential.
Overall, I really like this strain. It relaxes me and takes away my anxiety, but (at this harvest point) doesn't root me to the spot. Come bed time I can easily drift off to sleep.
I was super happy with my Smoothie harvest, but this has truly exceeded my expectations. 42.79 grams of untrimmed buds 😍
She grew well and I was happy with my routine. She grew taller and bushier than the Smoothie, with clearer Indica features. I think with a 5 gallon pot and the addition of perlite (which I neglected to add in this run) she could have been a much bigger plant. While growing she produced a noticeable aroma, but not nearly as strong as the Smoothie. Likewise, while sticky, these buds are not nearly as sticky as the Smoothie and are much more suitable for using in the grinder. That is a good thing too as these buds, medium to large in size, are very dense and hard. Overall, I really enjoyed growing this strain and I am really enjoying smoking it too! 😀 I look forward to running this strain again.
@GreenCanuck, hey I feel you there, but it's not about sheer size. It's about maturation. I'm not trying to be judgemental, just trying to offer constructive feedback. I dunno what you see from your trichomes but they won't have a chance to really ripen properly if you don't give them the time. And 4-5 weeks flower time even on an auto isn't enough. I know we get excited to smoke our hard work sometimes but you may be cheating yourself on true quality.
if i could give my 2 cents, she still looks a little immature imo. Usually i wait for the hairs to start twisting and have a 50% milky to 50% amber. Her hairs still look very white in the pics.
She looks amazing otherwise though!! Those colors are crazzzzzzyyyy! The longer you wait, the more color youll get!
Youre really making me want to run these genes dude!
Happy growing!
@JuicyBuds__BLM, totally get your point, but I try to concentrate on the trichomes rather than pistils, and I set my milky/amber ratio based on strain characteristics and my own tastes. Sometimes it works out better than others, lol, but this time it worked pretty good for me 😊
Should have given her a couple more weeks atleast. She would have fattened up and matured a bit. These gals are known to take up to 90 days or more. Regardless great job!

@GreenBaron, I really appreciate what you are saying, but again it sounds like an aim for pure quantity. I check my trichomes and I aim for what I believe will be the best ratio based on my experience of the strain or what I have read about the strain. I would rather have 47 grams of weed that hits me the way I want, than 80+ grams of weed I don't really like. I am not always spot on, but I know me :) Happy growing.
@RussianGrower, Thank you from Canada :) I am happy with the start of this grow so far, I hope she continues on the same path forward! Stay well and happy growing friend :)
