Groth was much more noticeable. There is a whitefly infestation outside. It got a couple of leaves but I got some neem oil and made a repellent. I've been doing 12 hours outside and 12 inside. The stems are getting some red to them. Using an old indoor plant light that gives no heat and is fairly dim. Better than nothing. I'm waiting for my tent to be delivered and my new grow light. Not easy to start during times of a global pandemic without thinking it out but it is what it is.
The whiteflies came back. I cut open some garlic and left it around the base. I was good after that!
I made a huge mistake taking my ph level and put way too much ph down in about .25 of a gallon. I tend to water is smaller does. I could see the burn in the leave but it is recovering. It was the first week I started using nutrients and I could see the growth.
It looks like the FIM I tried was successful, maybe not perfect but we shall see...
The tent finally got here and I just put them in yesterday. We shall see. Sadly, outside stopped being an option.
This was the first week all indoors (TUSY 48x24x60inch). That was not the plan but it is what needed to be. It was also the first week I used all the nutrients and it sure seemed to make a huge difference. Not that that is in any way surprising. It was also the first week in a tent sketchily assembled. The tent part as fine but I sure wish I had actually planned that out beforehand. I picked up an iPower. CFM 4-inch booster fan and use it to vent out. I had a couple of Vornado's I use as well. One too vents out and the other moves air. This is far from ideal but I have no ac and temp is no joke. Oh yeah... and a VIVOSUN 4 ich 195 CFM inline duct... to move air out. I turn the DIMGOGO 1000w LED on for about 20 hours and off in the afternoon to help keep the temp down.
I'm waiting on a duct and a purifier and a better way to keep the temp in line. I actually tried to fill my empty milk container filled with water and froze it in hopes it might help. It didn't.
I learn something new every week, love growing!!!
The water desire sure takes a swing up. I need to come up with a better way to measure everything out. I'm clumsy and had a gross spill. I have the droppers and a variety of measure cylinders and droppers but need an easier way to get the nutrients out of the jug. The bottom leaves are droopy and have some scarring. I think the scars are from an earlier ph screw up. Not sure about the drooping, I think it's water but I water until it starts to seep out. I check on the kids frequently... so they should be okay but IDK... I guess time will tell.
Nightmares. In the middle of moving while a heatwave reared its ugly head. I took the plants out of the tent and moved them near the portable ac unit. I picked up a portable one but that got here too late. The temps were not good 67-93 depending on what I could manage. They seem to be showing my misreading of a label and had been adding way too much Micro & Cal-Mag. Stopped both got a couple of weeks and did a serving of just water sans nutrients. The damage seems to below and in the middle that I'm seeing this week. I want to get them flowering but in the middle of a move I can't control anything... not that I ever could. Anyway, I wish I knew where the damaged leaves are reacting to. Ph, temp, all of it... My first plants... it's all about learning.
The more you grow; the more you'll know - My new motto :-p
Getting quire tall... really need to flip the switch. Using less light and hoping that slows growth. Just one more week (fingers crossed.) The top is taller than the light... sigh.
Week of challenges. From repotting to moving plants that should have been flowering by now. Hanging tight to see how it goes once the shock wears off. Height was not measured because I couldn't find the tape measure in the move and have bought a net to bring the plant heights down... I had been trying to slow the growth before the move... IDK.
Frightfully large for the tent. Trying to keep the light higher & reduced to 11.5 hours of light. Cut off the bottom branches; even the big ones. I was able to see better and cut off some of the dead. light barely gets anywhere. I worried I had gone too far & was going to put them into shock. So far it's helped lower the humidity, they want more water and they seem happier.
Not much this week, just maintaining and waiting. Since the plants are so tall I move the light around every few days. Hoping this smooths the light more evenly and keep the buds from busting through before they are ready.
Cut back some fan leaves since there are so many, hoping it doesn’t jack me but too much is too much.
Still using supplemental (house plant) lights for dark patches.
Power outage because why not. I tried a power strip that failed. I’ve been switching the time myself. Hope it’s okay. I just put in an extra light because there are too many dark areas and it had a timer. 🤞🏻
Fortunately it was a relatively slow week for as far as weird dramas that are making my first time quite the obstacle course.
We had a power outage & that jacked my lights but I think it’s okay...
Added another light since I’m using cheap LED & my plants had to vegetate far longer than I feel like they should.
Staring to flush this week. I FIM’d so I guess I’d say the bigger colas are starting to lean but I can’t find quite the right thing to support them.
I’m reading my Ed Rosenthal collection & I’ll find the perfect thing and then be unable to obtain it. I guess I go with a string of some sort... so close 🤞🏿🤞🏻🤞🏾🤞🏼🤞🏽
My ac in my new places went out. Quelle
So I thought my primary battle was going to be mostly mild at this point but alas no. Heat wave & my house is a sauna.
I’ve kept an eye and opened up the tent on the side and have given it my living room. Luckily it’s seems pretty reflective & now my other plants will get a nice light bump. Still too hot 85.5 but the humidity is manageable. It was getting to 90% before I added another humidifier thus week.
Second week of flushing & the fan leaves are getting brown tips and some have started to fall.
Glad I kept a record of my first grow. I bought the clones on a whim to observe their growth cycle. Enter free time. Significantly less bud than I thought but I did have way more time vegetating than flowering... forced to trigger it early.
