FLorence_Bentley Soaking: In water filtered with a Bria Filter on (April 26th) Germination: (24-72hours): Germinating seeds and they will be in the pot. First taproot seed was put in pot on April 29th (April 27th-April30th) Pot types: I am using fabric and plastic pots. Not more than 3.5 gallons. I can go to 5 gal. but my research showed that this strain grew very quickly and a pot too large could negatively affect it's grow. Soil Brand and Type: - Fox Farm Ocean Forest mixed with some perlite. Any brand of perlite is fine but be VERY careful when handling. You do not want to breathe in the dust. I have heard some people use a 50-50 mixture. I prefer something much lighter like 1 part perlite to like 4 or 5 parts Fox Farm. I work with succulents a lot and use the material for good drainage. NOTES: I am germinating 3 seeds. I am a newbie and wanted to try a couple of variables and plant an extra in case I lose a plant or two along the way. May 1st- Northern Lights 1 (NL1) spent a good 3-5 hours un the soft sun and then moved to shade but remained outside in a bright spot. She comes inside at night around 7pm to the garage where it is warm ad dry. #Firstgrow #newbie #northernlightsauto

FLorence_Bentley Started making sure that N1 got enough light outside this week. 6-8 hours. I did notice it stretch the most the day after watering and a full 8 hours of natural sunlight. There were 4 days that went about 90 degrees. I left out in the sun until about 11am and then in the shade near full blown sun. 80% of the days, the plants were brought inside at night to avoid it getting too cold.

FLorence_Bentley New Update: PH Meter! I recently purchased a PH meter from the brand Apera. I began PHing my water at 6.3 PH. I water every other day and always check for pot weight as well as soil dryness. Thursday, May 13th: Today I began to Low-stress train the plant. She seems small compared to other diaries but she grows quickly. I started training early and I hope that will help shape the plant and minimize snapping the main stock as it matures. I am using garden twist ties and my anchor is a tomatoe cage (you can also use bamboo sticks, trellis or anything your heart desires!) Sunday, May 17th (Nutrient introduction): I began giving the plants a half dose of the recommended amount in the Nectar for the Gods sample kit feeding schedule. I am a entry to mid-level experienced gardener (veggies and flowers) and this is my first time growing marijuana. I have a conservative feeding approach to these plants and then I observe to work them to full dose. Here it is: 1/2 tsp: Medusa's Magic 1/2 tsp: Gaia Mania 1/2 tsp: Zeus Juice I am considering converting these into ml because it's easier to feed and split dosage more precisely. PH down to 6.3 with Hades Down.

FLorence_Bentley PH for water 6.3 This week was amazing for my plants despite having to spray insecticidal soap a couple of nights to get some control of whiteflies. I sprayed on two evenings to prevent the major spread and it stopped those bugs right in their tracks. May 23rd: - Discovered the beginning of leaf miners. I have my plants outside but I bring them into my garage at night. I like the peace of mind of knowing they are safe and I believe that is why they have had pests come through until now. if you are a gardener, try to keep your plants in a separate area with low risk of bugs and DO NOT visit your weed plants when you have been doing work in other parts of the garden. I am convinced I carried the leaf miners somehow because they attack my orange tree every summer which is on the opposite end of the house. LST- This plant has about 5 nodes with decent space in between. I removed the tomato cage and added bamboo sticks to have maximum control of LOW-STRESS TRAINING my plant. Watering- I am starting to notice the plant s drying out about a half-day faster than usual. I believe I am thinking about watering once a day starting next week (but I am observing her to see if she needs it earlier than that). I water with tap water and leave it out for 24 hours to naturally de-chlorinate. I HIGHLY recommend you grow outdoors. The power of the sun is unmatched :)
