What soil? Im experimenting with Fox farm ocean mixed with coco and 100% coco/perlite mixed 1:1. They'll both be fed and cared for the same way. I want to see if coco/perlite is worth it

@KrazyK, I have 5 gallon fabric containers. I already use them for my tomatoes and noticed that the one pot I elevated with blocks, is out performing the others a little bit. I guess its the extra oxygen getting under the container. Ive grown outdoors for 35 plus years. This is my first indoor grow. Ill skip the soil grow and save the soil for emergencies. I have 15 gallons of Coco Loco ready to go. Ive been reading where a lot of experienced coco growers are now skipping the perlite all together. I doubt I will but it was interesting. I also elevate my containers with blocks so oxygen can get under them. My tomato plant like this is out growing and out producing my others. I also started using Mammoth P root additive. Ive never seen roots like these. I tested it on a tomato plant and its roots are everywhere. its also yielding far more fruit.

@RonnieB, COCO all day. Anywhere from 15-40% perlite mix is all you need. Vermiculite can be used to cut coco as well. Use fabric pots in combo with coco and your roots will love it. Let it dry really good between watering. Good luck!
