Qu4ntic Day#10 - another fresh meal of tap water (150mL - 6.5pH). Maybe next meal with nutrients!
Day#14 - 1st feeding with Compo Sana Universal 7-3-6 (1/4 recommended dose) + watering till run off = 6.2 solution pH
@dalilama, should i put ph down or a few drops or lemon juice on the water, til 6 ? I'll try a pH range from 6.5 to 5.5. Maybe reduce 0.1-0.2 per watering.
@Qu4ntic, I'm first grower so don't take my word on it. But from what I've read everywhere online 6.5 is the limit. 5.8 was the magic number.
But So far we are growing the same strain and yours is ahead, your day 5 is much more developed than my day 5. Also I'm using coco and not soil.
@dalilama, I made this decision cuz my pH soil is 6.5 so in this early stage I didn't want to much fluctuations on pH.
On the next feeding with nutrients I will try to get a pH between [5.8-6.0] as you say. I know that is the perfect range for absorbing essencial NPK nutrients.
Thanks for the feedback! Happy growing!
@dalilama, Heyho, just read this and wanted to give some advice. What nutrients are you using? Organic or mineral? Becuase in a soil grow, organic nutrients will almost always balance themselves out if your tap water pH isnt tooooo much off. And for Soil, optimal pH is from 6.2 to 6.8, there is also a nice graph here: https://www.growweedeasy.com/sites/growweedeasy.com/files/pH-nutrient-deficiency/soil-ph-chart-marijuana.jpg
So your 6.5 is PERFECT. Like, literally perfect for a soil grow.
The 5.8 youre talking about is the perfect pH for a hydroponic grow, but thats not important in your case.
So if youre using organic nutes, don't worry too much about pH as long as its between 6 and 7 for your soil grow. For mineral / synthetic nutrients, however, try to adjust it if its above 7.0 or below 6.0.
Oh and little edit from my side: Ive grown the quick one 2 times, one time with pH 6.3 and one time with pH 5.7. Both times the plant did fine and had no problems even though it showed deficiencies in the end with the 5.7 pH but nothing that seriously impacted growth or yield or anything...
But for now, you should be absolutely fine. Dont worry too much :)
Cheers
@Medicanna, Oh thanks for the tips, also I read that you should alternate the range of PH water you give your plant because some nutriments are better absorbed with ph bellow 6 and some are better absorbed with a ph above 6. I was giving 5.8ph water before but I will try alternating now.
@dalilama, Hey man I never heard about the alternating pH. I would actually THINK it would stress the plant and microbial life in the soil to keep alternating pH ? I also meant to send this chart right here: http://homegrow-pro.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/marijuana-growing-ph-chart-soil.jpg
You can clearly see that what you just said is absolutely correct, but if you try to choose one constant value, 6.5 pH is used by most soil growers I know as it meets all nutrients "requirements".
Cheers for discussing that one out, its an interesting question yet often asked :)
@Medicanna, I'm so confused I read that on the RQS manual to alternate the PH :/ My plant is on day #7 and only have done 2 waterings so far with a ph of 5.8 what should I do in the future?
