White Widow #2 seems exhausted, is this normal? This is the first grow so i don’t really know where to look for and how the plant should look. If you have advice i would greatly appreciate it. Also the seeds where planted in the propagator on 29/04 MedicalG

The plants are doing very good in my eye’s. The Green Gelato Auto is finnally sprouting after i took the seed out of the propagator and placed it into it’s pot. Also did the same for the other seeds that hadn’t sprouted yet. Need to see if the others come through or not. If you have any helpfull advice, let me know! Also updated my set-up and place for growing! UPDATE: 11 may i checked the onther 3 plants and the seed is nowhere to bee seen, i have planted a few side expiriments in 2 of the 3 pot's which hopefully will still be alive this saturday.

Lady's are looking good, since a day or two they really started growing, it's very impressive to see. I also think i'm giving them to much water, so i stopped giving them water until i see some sign of them needing some juice :-) I'm even keeping a day-by-day diarie where i'm also keeping track of the RH and Temp values multiple times a day, this will also be a nice reminder for later. Because this will give me feedback for the next time, also i'm thinking about switching over to the 600W HPI during flowering, because everyone says LIGHT = WEIGHT! .. My tent is 120x120x180 and 600W is suggested for this area, while i'm using a 400W now to lower overall costs where it's possible while not hurting the yield to much. The good thing is that since last week the ventilation and humidification is on point in my eyes, atleast for the budget i'm working with. Lighting is also good, but i am still having doubt's about keeping the 400W HPI instead of the 600W HPI(both the same brand and spectrum). Hope some of you could give me some useful advice or tips, i'd love to hear them! MedicalG

Hey Fellow Growers, I have a question, what kind of results should someone who uses a veg HPI with a wattage of 400/600W for the entire life of the plants expect. I know that it's better to use two colors, one for vegetation and one for flowering. But what if?..

well, the difference is the temperature color.. veg-lights have more of a blue spectrum, as this will keep the plants a bit shorter and will produce tighter internode spaces (which is what you want during vegging), while the red spectrum will help more during flowering times and provide better results.. In 2009 i have tested with various plants (mostly hot peppers) under T8 lights and i had 3 setups: one with pure 6500K lights, one with pure 3000K light color and one mixed. When i started them under pure 6500K they were really short, but extremely bushy with a lot of branching. The plants were mostly growing sideways instead of upwards. The other set under pure 3000K made them stretch much more during veg (which i didn't like either). To me the best was a mix of both, but more leaning towards the blue-ish side for veg. This still kept them rather compact, but not overly. Given that cannabis goes through the stretching phase during flowering, I'd actually like the more compact start. For flowering the red did make a big difference in the end-result. I removed almost all of my 6500K CFL's and not only did the peppers start fruiting much better, there were almost no flower-drops (hot peppers drop their flowers if they don't start to fruit), which was regularly happening under blue. I understand that this isn't that applicable to cannabis, but i never wanted to waste a nice cannabis plant for that test, by just keeping her under a (mostly) blue light. Also don't forget, that by limiting your yield, your price-per-gram goes up much higher, because the 600w does draw quite some power. Each of my light-setups was drawing around 90W at the wall, so I asked myself "why then limit yourself unnecessarily"? Today i always go for "full spectrum white" with preferably 3500K color temperature (that's what my cxb3590 COB has, as well as my two quantum boards.. the 3 additional quantum boards i have already ordered, are also at 3500K.. only the one 36w screw-in-LED has 4K i believe, but there 3500K was no option).. this way i have the full spectrum equally balanced and get some blue for veg, as well as red for flowering in..

So the plants have grown really well, if you compare the pictures of last week then you'll definitely see the difference. Today I started with the low stress training technique SOG, this because i want to improve my yield a bit, without stressing the plant, beceause its an autoflower. Also i don't know what to expect from the plants, this is still my first grow, so i want to keep the risk of stalling the plants as low as possible. The bad news is that the Green Gelato didn't survive, i think i didn't give her enough attention because she was still a seedling until a few days ago she just tipped over. Well i'm really sad that the Green Gelato died...Had high hope's.. But all things considered the plants are healthy and growing like they should, which is more then i could've asked for. Also ventilation is good, but it still sometimes gets around 32°C when it's 28°C outside, i don't know if i schould worrie about that or not. Because i do keep humidity as high as possible and regularly try to leave the tent open for a few minutes at the end of the day when the temps have dropped outside. If you have any tips or things that could help me, please let me know!! I'm always interested in learning something new. Medical G

At the moment they just started flowering a day ago, so now i'll be ordering some nutrients to give them during flowering, i'm also thinking about giving them some low budget form of compost thee. I also noticed something wrong with the AK #2, it is very light from colour and it looks to me like it is using the nutrients stored i its leaf's. Which should not happen at this point, they just started flowering, so i'm going to see if it continues, if so, i'll need to fix it.🙏 PS: i forgot to post this week so i posted it together with week 6...😂

Plants are doing very well, they've started flowering beautifully in my rookie eyes, and i'm proud off the current results. During flowering, i keep an eye on buds that don't get light because of leaves from other twigs, when it does happen, i take those leaves off the plant. As i'm still waiting for my Canna Terra Flora, I keep giving my plants compost thee. I'm getting some great results with my method(see photo's), it's not the best technique but it defenetly does the job of getting those nutrients from the compost in the soil without the need of extra elektricity and the need to wait 24h before you can use it. Here is my method wich i'm currently using for about 4-5 days; 1. I took a big bucket(40L) where i drilled some holes in for drainage and filled it with soil and other organic matter that came from the plants, like leafs etc. 2. I put a large enough container under the pot/bucket, to catch the water that comes from the pot/bucket. 2. Got myself some pure compost(3-4 hands) and mixed it with the soil 3. Then i put a 5cm layer of pure compost on top(we'll mix this later) 4. I poured 5L of water on top (may need to take some more for the first time), and i stir the soil on top so that everything gets muddy. 5. After everything on top is muddy i took a long stick or something that is long enough to react the bottom, and i start to mix everything. 6. Then I just wait a couple of minutes and take a something to store my compost-water in. 7. Then when the container at the bottom is almost full, i pour it in a 5L bucket where i usually store it for no more than 2-3 days. 8. I repeat it until i have about 15L of compost water. Like i said, it is NOT the prettiest way of giving them there nutrients, but it gets the job done. During the last day's of veg and the first days of flower, one of the plants started to get yellow leaves, i knew that there was something wrong with the nutrients in the soil, but didn't know what. After i started to let the plant use up all of the moisture in the soil, i started with the compost-water and the difference is huge, now the plant looks healthy and fresh. I'm not saying that this is all because of the compost-water, but it definitely made a difference, not only for that one plant in particular, but all the plants show positive effects of the compost mix. It's a cheap way of getting your plants nutrients, so if you have nothing else or a small budget this could help a lot, especially because it only cost me about 3-4$. Please be pollite, as i'm just starting with growing and i'm very experimental. If there is something that is wrong or that i'm doing wrong, just leave some constructive advice. Thanks MedicalG

Skipped the dairy for this week, because i was having some personal issues. Plants were doing very well, partially because of the Canna Terra Bloom👍

Plants are blooming very Nice, i’m stunned to see it with my own eyes.. I mean the nutriënt is working extremly well, they also smell pretty good;) Couldn’t be happier with the results, because they are not growing in the “perfect” enviroment, because most of the time the temp easily reaches 29 Celsius.. But this grow really got me started appreciating gardening. Only right now i don’t know when It’s time to harvest them, if someone could tell me how to see it with a microscope that would be greatly apreciated. And if you have any suggestions on how to inprove the grow or my knowlege, please let me know! MedicalG

@Bouleuss, I'm really hoping i can get some weight out of them the way i am growing them, because it's a pretty cheap setup with relatively low costs.
