-I'm pretty happy with what I am seeing with these two seedlings.
-still just spraying the leaves and keeping the top layer of soil moist. Watering lightly around the edges of the pot. I'll start giving regular waterings next week most likely.
- I've decided to try my hand at reversing a plant to get feminized pollen. The Critical Purple is going to be my test subject. I will keep showing her progress in this diary and will be sure to keep you posted on how much pollen I can get from her but unfortunately, no buds will come from this girl. Just a heads up. Once I harvest the pollen, I will probably just close this diary and put the northern lights from this one into the other diary.
Happy growing!
-Topped the northern lights because I am curious about it.
-I will start making colloidal silver for the Critical Purple this week, I hope. I expect it to start flowering soon.
-So this week I will be moving the northern lights plant over to my other diary. She is doing very well, go check that diary to see how she is doing.
-I've decided to self-pollinate this Critical Purple plant. I've made a batch of colloidal silver that measures 45 PPM and I've been spraying two branches with it a couple of times a day. The branches are shown in the pictures above. One has a string tied around it to identify and the other has a twist tie. Those branches are looking pretty gnarly right now due to the CS treatment but I've been told that that is pretty normal in the beginning. My hope is that she will be ready to be pollinated right when those branches start to drop their pollen. I need a little luck. She is a beautiful plant though. I would be very happy to get some good seeds from her.
- I won't be consuming any part of this plant in any way due to the colloidal silver treatment. I will be harvesting the seeds and turfing everything else. With some luck, it will be worth it.
HAPPY GROWING!!!
-Another change of plans for this girl. She started to get a little too smelly to keep indoors. I was hoping to get some pollen off of her before that became a problem, but here we are. I clipped off the branches that I was treating with colloidal silver. I don't want to be that jerk that spreads pollen all over the neighborhood.
-The new plan is pretty simple. I have some double grape auto-fem pollen from a mephisto genetics plant on the way. It should arrive sometime this week. The plan is to pollinate this critical purple with the double grape pollen.
-even though I've stopped with the CS treatment, this plant is no longer safe for consumption. I will be harvesting the seeds and tossing everything else.
- Growth explosion. She is turning into a monster. I swear she grows a few inches every day at this point.
- Looking quite healthy. I've upped the watering by a good amount because it has been hot as a motherfucker and the sun is strong strong strong.
- A couple more weeks until I pollinate her. She is starting to form the beginnings of buds now. I'm very happy with this plant. She is a fine specimen.
HAPPY GROWING!!!
Update - Pollinated with Double Grape feminine pollen on June 24th.
- I pollinated this one once on June 24th and then I gave it another round of pollination yesterday, June 27th. I took in into the garage to pollinate it, left it in there overnight and then gave a good spray down with water to neutralize any leftover pollen before putting her back. Honestly, if the rest of my plants get pollinated, I wouldn't even really mind that much. The pollen that will have gotten on them is Mephisto double grape auto-fem pollen, so I'll have some kickass auto-fem seeds to grow in the future.
- all seems well for now.
HAPPY GROWING!!!
- Buds are fattening up nicely. Calyxes look super swollen and I'm pretty certain that the pollination was successful. She is huge for an auto. I am very curious to see how this cross works out. The Critical Purple is tall with really nice bud structure so far.
-She is starting to mature. I am hoping to be able to chop her down in three or four weeks.
HAPPY GROWING!
- She is a beast. Really tall for an auto and the buds are massive. I didn't do any low-stress training at all with her. I am really impressed with this plant.
- I think that I might have done something to deactivate the pollen before I had pollinated her. I don't see any real signs of seeds growth. The pistils are all white, the calyxes aren't really swollen and the buds are still growing a lot. I messed this one up, which is too bad because she is a real specimen of an autoflower. It would have been nice to be able to propagate her. Ah well. Next time. I am going to finish her off in any case. I would be pretty surprised to not see any seeds at all once she is done. I'm just not expecting hundreds anymore.
HAPPY GROWING!!
Thanks for checking out my grow diary! I hope to do many more of these in the future as I will be starting up my indoor setup this winter and really trying my hand at breeding. See you on the next one!
