Dutch Automatic Outdoor

ButtersStotch 2020-05-20 (Day 1) Huge shoutout to Spliff Seeds on sending me these girls along with Spliff Cheese Automatic and Dutch Blue Automatic! This will be my first outdoor soil grown Auto run and I’m more than excited. She’s planted beside the Spliff Cheese Auto in my vegetable garden. The soil rendered big tomatoes, cucumbers and one large cannabis plant last year sans nutrients. I’ve amended it this year with some soil from the cows barnyard and if necessary I’ll top dress with some Gaia Green supps. There is still a chance of frost at night but I really doubt there will be any. For now I’ve covered them with some clear Tim Hortons cups to increase the humidity. I can’t wait to see how these girls do outdoors in the super hot Ontario summer. A little bit of Dutch 🇳🇱 bud in Canada 🇨🇦!

ButtersStotch 2020-05-27 (Day 8) Well these girls are thriving in an early summer heat wave. +33 and humid the last coupe of days and no rain. I couldn’t grab any Gaia Green at the hydro store so i think I’m going to grow nuteless until a deficiency develops, at which point I’ll correct with GHE Floratrio and liquid CaliMajic. The one plant I grew in this flowerbed last year didn’t show 1 deficiency so fingers crossed it wasn’t a fluke. Can’t wait to see her bulk up!

ButtersStotch 2020-06-03 (Day 15) I’ve come to the conclusion that these girls are very unlikely to suffer any deficiencies growing in this flower bed without supplemental nutes. If I run into deficiencies later on I’ll try and amend them, likely with GHEs FloraTrio. She’s growing great, temps have tapered of and we’ve gone from a hot dry week to a cool rainy week. She endured one day of high winds and is still thriving! The soil I added this year must have had an abundance of seeds in it as you can see in the pictures the weeds are thick. Haven’t had too much time to weed in the last couple weeks with the new addition to the family but hopefully by next update the garden should be weed free (except for my special weeds). According to Spliff these bad boys can start flowering at 2 1/2 weeks so Stay tuned you may see some flowers begin to form next week!

ButtersStotch 2020-06-10 (Day 22) Growing great and no preflowers yet. This girl Is supposed to start flowering after 2.5 weeks as stated in Spliffs description, so I expect any day now they should start. Stay tuned, excitement will come I promise haha!

ButtersStotch 2020-06-19 (Day 31) Still vegging along but exploding in size! This is a pretty decent sized auto as she still hasn’t began to flower yet. Days have been extremely hot and rain has been non existent. I water them every 3-4 days just before sundown if I feel they (or my tomatoes beside) look droopy. Stay tuned as flowers will form any day, can’t wait for my garden to start smelling! 🇳🇱 🇨🇦

ButtersStotch 2020-06-25 (Day 36) She’s stretched like crazy! 29” tall and still vegging! This thing is going to be a monster auto flower! Stay tuned and wait for these buds!

ButtersStotch 2020-07-02 (Day 43) This is a monster Autoflower! I’m waiting any day to see this thing start flowering. She keeps chugging along and vegging like crazy! Stay tuned and watch this thing begin blooming!

ButtersStotch 2020-07-09 (Day 50) Sunny as fuck and hot as balls, near 40 C with the humidex. This thing is an absolute monster for an autoflower, I can’t imagine what she’ll look like when she starts to flower! Bit of insect damage but nothing to worry about. Stay tuned, any day now we should see some flowers start!

ButtersStotch 2020-07-16 (Day 57) We’ve had a break in the heat and some minor rain over the weekend. I don’t know the last time I watered these girls, I’m just letting nature take it’s course. This is the only of the 4 autos that hasn’t flowered yet and it is bigger than any of my current outdoor photos! This is by far the biggest Autoflower I’ve seen. She should flower soon, if she stretches she’ll be just gigantic! Stay tuned!

ButtersStotch 2020-07-21 (Day 62) This monster is growing about 10” a week. No sign of flowering yet but this thing is just insanely massive. You can see from the video that she dwarfs my other Autos that are done in about a week or so. She lost a large lower limb due to my murderous cucumbers 🥒. They climber the branch and broke her when I was away for a couple days. Stay tuned, hopefully flowering starts soon!

ButtersStotch 2020-07-31 (Day 69) What can I say, we’re at 7ft tall now, just an absolute monster. No matter what she should be flowering in roughly 2 weeks time. These branches are going to get so so heavy. I’ve tied her to a t-post to protect her from some high winds we were having. I cannot wait to see what happens when flowers begin to form! FYI this is the largest thing in my flower bed and if it stretches like I imagine this will be my tallest plant to date! It has the perfect structure for our environment as airflow will definitely not be an issue come late flower!

ButtersStotch 2020-08-06 (Day 75) Well the day has come, this tree 🌲 has began to form some buds! This girl is going to be out of control! Definitely could chop her down and put her in the living room this winter in place of a Christmas tree 🎄. Stay tuned to watch this hear branches begin to fill out!

ButtersStotch 2020-08-14 (Day 82) Just a monster! Leaving for over a week and I wanted to support her huge branches more but I ran out of time, hopefully she’s 100% intact when I come home. This thing is legit a tree, almost 8ft tall with zero nutes. She’s about to start stacking right up!!

ButtersStotch 2020-08-23 (Day 81) Stacking up nicely! No added support yet but I’m thinking I’ll have to, I have a feeling these buds are going to be huge!! Stay tuned to see this tree keep packing on the weight!

ButtersStotch 2020-08-30 (Day 88) Look up beast in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of this Dutch Automatic. This thing is huge, the top foot of this plant will yield more than most of my indoor lol. She’s stacking up nice! 👍

ButtersStotch 2020-09-06 (Day 95) I could open a Christmas tree farm if only this thing stayed alive to Christmas 🎄 thing is just massive. Colas are stacking like mad, this could end up yielding 1 lb of premium ditch gas!

ButtersStotch 2020-09-15 (Day 104) I can’t wait to see what this girl yields. Buds are fat as fuck and smell soooooo fruity, this would legit be an amazing air freshener scent wow! Still doing her thing, no nutes and no water!

ButtersStotch 2020-09-22 (Day 111) Cut off 1 cola that had rot, you could notice it as the fan leaves were dying. She is absolutely huge. Trichs are now cloudy and were just waiting for some amber to come. What do you think this girl will yield?

ButtersStotch 2020-10-04 Heavy rains for a week have called for harvest. The gigantic buds on this plant have gotten so saturated that some branches have broke, only the main stalk has support so this was inevitable with these monster colas. Harvested over a period of three days after work, washed in 3% H2O2 water solution mixed at 1 cup to 5 gallons, followed by a plain water wash. Hung to dry for an hour or two with a fan then wet trimmed with a Bowl Trimmer and dried for 4-5 days in hanging baskets. Final result is 1262g of bud, that’s right 2.78 lbs of dank buds! They’re going to be cured in two 5 gallon pales for a couple weeks with an auto curing system and then I plan on vac sealing about 1/2 based on recommendations by @hellishjam and @greenhouselab. Super aromatic strain and the smell and buds fit the description on Spliffs website “ buds are compact and heavy with a fruity, floral, skunky smell“. The ruderalis gene must have stayed dormant, I’m not a botanist but I’ve had autos not flower automatically pretty much from every breeder Ive tried so I know it happens from time to time. I’ve got 2 beans left and I will be popping them next year to see if this monster was a fluke or not. Anyway all in all this plant was a beast! No nutes or water throughout the grow, the only intervention was supporting the main stalk at about the 6 ft point and then spraying with ACV/water mixture to combat WPM. You can from the rest of my diaries that WPM is prevalent in my area and as for natural resistance I’d give this strain a 7/10. She got hit by WPM but not terribly bad compared to other strains, and taking into account that she was the closest plant to a severely infected tree shows that she is pretty resistant. I will update taste/effects in a couple weeks!
