Soaked the seeds for 24 hours in clear water. After that I planted them directly into the 11L pots with individual domes on them. Waiting for the little guys to pop out the ground. A few already showing their heads :) Just added enough water to the pots to last a few days. Lifting the domes daily to replace the old air with fresh one.
Current Setup:
Homebox Ambient Q120
2x 140W FlatBoard - Bloomstar @ 30%
800m² Exhaust Fan with Active Coal Filter
Soil: BioBizz Light Mix
First week is done and unfortunately only 50 % of the seeds made it until now. The ones that did it, are healthy and looking good. The soil will be refilled a little bit to cover the stretched part of the stem.
I lowered the light to the closest with the domes on to prevent further stretching and increased the light intensity a little bit.
Started to spray the base with water and rhizotonic to accelerate the root growth.
Unfortunately Pineapple express is not performing like expected. That was a present fear since these seeds were used in a grow in the past and Pineapple Express was a huge issue back then. One of them showing weird color patterns on the leaves and two of them didnt came out at all. I digged up the earth and inspected the seeds. The little sprouts came out the seeds and lay there stagnated. Maybe I just got a unlucky batch of seeds :/
I stated giving them a little Terra Vega from Canna. First wanting to fo 3 ml of Vega but that resulted in an EC of 1.5 and that is a little too high for my feeling. Watered it down to 1.2. Unfortunately I have to start at 0.55 with my water. Would like to have a little "cleaner" water from the get go.
Light raised a little higher and intensity increased to around 2/3 of the power. That should keep the temps close to the plants cooler and the fans are able to transport the heat better away.
One of my Pineapple express plants showing a weird collour pattern on the leaves. I dont suspect issues with PH or EC / nutrients.
Did someone had a similar case?
that is not light burn. looks like it's either a mutation or tobacco mosaic virus. Most likely the 1st version and a bit of stress. I had this in the past. Plant will grow well but will keep the aspect of the leaves. don't worry about it
What a jump they made ! I raised the lights a little bit because I saw some heat issues on the leafs. After that all new leafs are nicely green.
Wasn't 100% sure if the burnt leafs came from heat or nutrition burn so I cut down on the Vega Terra too. They have enough nutrients for Week 3/4 so that's ok.
But still one of them showing weird leaf color / pattern and growth is slower then all others. Even the water intake is slower. I guess I just got some weird genetics here.
Started to smell some typical cannabis scent :))
Flowering is in full motion. All plants are growing like a hell and streched quite some height.
Started to give some flowering nuts.
Unfortunately I spotted some thrips today... I have to check what I should use against them without harming the flower :(
Removed some lower leaves that didn't received any light.
Next week rolling in... What I have to say? I was barely at home and watered every 2 days and left home again haha
So far they are really fatening up and the smell is gorgeous! I will be away for 1 week again and I organized a backup gardener who will water my plant 1 time. So one time 3 days break from water. Lets see how this turns out. Now I go to the max with the nutrients. Wouldn't go any higher and next week will be a little lighter.
The mutated one has been brought out to the wild because 9 plants are really the max for this tent and one had to go. I will update on the outdoor one next week after it adjusts to the outdoor environment.
The Pineapple Express is growing huge and getting bigger every day too.
The other one that I put outside has been adapting to the outside climate perfectly and looks healthy. Today I went out and put some FLO nutrients on it so that it has enough nutrients for the rest of its life.
River is right beside it and that should deliver enough moisture to the ground. Seems like a perfect spot.
Well Pineapple Express what are you doing ? Still this strain doesnt work out for me so well like the others.
The two plants that I have indoor have stretched a good way up. Approx. 20 cm higher than the others which is manageable with the two piece lamp setup that I have.
My 4 Panel Lamp usually comes in a one frame setup but I choose to split that up to account for different hight levels in the canopy. Which saves me here :)
Other than that they are slightly lighter in leaf color and I decided to give them a extra boost in nutrients. In the last grow I had to cancel the last Pineapple express because she died off to too less nuts.
That seems to be the case in the whole strain... So these girls really need a sugar daddy on their side. :)
The outdoor plant will get a picture soon. I rarely come by it.
