Hi everyone! Where do I begin really? So I found a do si dos seed in the stuff that I was smoking and told my roommate about it. He decided to germinate it for some reason. Then I found some more seeds and gave them to him again. At some point he grabbed some soil from our backyard and moved the first seedling in a cup. It was then that I started to actually look into growing. The other seeds germinated and everything went OK as far as we could tell. They were kept in our living room, with whatever light they had during the day and what not. So no lights... yet. No nothing really
So around April 20th I decided to go all in and purchased the following: grow tent, Vivosun 600W led light, Vivosun air filtration kit, a timer, thermometer/ hygrometer combo, 2 fans and the General Hydroponics flora grow trio.
This is just from stuff that I've seen on YouTube, mainly on the "from seed to stoned" channel. Dude seems to be doing a decent job and I initially gathered info from him. At first just the light came so I installed that, put one of those reflective sunshades for your windshield as a light reflector and used my humidifier. That was that. Can't remember the dosage of nutrients per plant really, but it was probably around 1 ml of micro and 1 ml of grow per gallon. Didn't feed em that amount of water, just a bit.
Decided that Gaia was to be moved in a 5 gallon bucket, just to see how it would perform being moved straight into its final pot. I did some research and bought Fox Farms Happy Frog soil so that was that. The other seedlings were moved into solo cups with the same soil.
At this point I got excited about the prospect of my first grow. I was never really interested in growing but sometimes if I put something in my mind then I'll dedicate myself as much as possible.
Still didn't have my tent yet, it was the last thing that came. Plants were doing good. Bought a Pur water filter so all the water that I've used from this point on either for feeding or in the humidifier was filtered and left to sit for over 24 hours.
So I finally received my tent and the rest of the setup. Made a CO2 reactor to go along with it. Temperature and humidity were OK as I added a humidifier. Also I put a speaker in there to play classical music.
This week I added a 4 inch duct on the lower left side right by the fan, so it pulls in fresh air from another room. Also, I made a bunch of 1 inch holes in my buckets, then lined them up with mold resisting drywall tape and finally I wrapped the buckets in shiny hvac tape, figured it would help with the light. I have 2 temperature and humidity probes, one by the canopy and the other one lower.
I must say that I was pleased with the progress so far.
Forgot to mention that I topped them at some point a couple of weeks back and it worked wonders. Trimmed them for the first time and wow did they like it! That's about it. Too tired now to remember anything else. Oh yeah I installed one of those terrarium ceramic bulbs that just heat up without emitting light but it seems like it's not needed
