Just today, end of week, moved from outside to tent for flowering. Pretty even horizontal spread. Perhaps a trellis coming soon.

A nice week of starting flowering with stretch clearly begun over last two days allowing to introduce scrog this morning. Seems like just the right technique with each slot having a significant branch tip, a few tied down to let it grow into its slot and expose under growth along the way! It’s crazy how that worked out in terms of ratio of available slots to growth on these two babies. As a scrog first timer I hope it’s been done right. Some low fan leaves removed and will give a good week before removing any others/raising the trellis. Going for minimal defoliation on this grow and undecided if will cut off growth under net line. Anyway that’s the state of these two treasures as they finish their first full week of flower now in scrog and taking shape. I love it. No nutrients this week as bio-bizz soil added with two pH adjusted waterings this week, no doubt it’s rich enough for the week and next one before adding any flowering nutrients. One of the two has been stretched with longer leaves and the other denser with shorter leaves almost from the second week. Odd! I think the scrog should give it some shape and focus for growth. A total delight to watch over these babies and shape into a nice shape for flowering.

Second week of flower for these two White Widows and clearly in full growth spurt. Each of the slots in the scrog has its own future bud being maintained through regular LST around the trellis, a couple outride the trellis and supported by it. No nutrients this week to benefit from Bio Bizz soil added end of last week. I really want a low nutrient grow. Watered pH adjusted a couple of times. A few large fan leaves removed under the net. All pretty much same height and looking very healthy each, a few particularly chunky looking. What a delight this week has been again shaping and pruning. I hope I’ve made the right choices in terms of this scrog technique and associated shaping but it looks right. I’ll be away for a week now and did a full watering right before leaving and moved lights with more than enough margin to avoid burning however much they grow. I hate to leave them alone even for a day but have no choice to go away this week. Here’s hoping the little techniques to keep them from drying out work out. There’s going to be a ton of reshaping and pruning after a whole week alone assuming they survived such neglect.

Went a five day stretch without water but held up nicely. Also got rather hot with door closed, good for humidity but running a bit hot. Time to cool it down a bit with a second fan. Gave them a significant LST adjustment today moving some branches to new slots to best take advantage of trellis and exposure. A lot of vegetation under the trellis dying off and cut off weak branches under the line myself today. Shouldn’t need to do so again. Letting air circulate a bit more for temp closer to 28, humidity at 48. They are doing so well! Leaves to monitor around nutrient needs as they fatten up already each day so possibly ending stretch phase towards bud development. Each of the site in an individual slot is growing independently strong with a long stems of buds on nearly each. Only 1-2 branches relatively light and questionable bothering with them. Rest are solid and potential for chunkiness. After adding some more Bio Bizz soil a couple of weeks ago no additional nutrients added and leaves still look good. I’ll proceed to first light flowering nutrients over the next three days. Couldn’t be more thrilled with these gals!

A magnificent week for these two, nicely adjusted to scrog and moving from stretch to fattening. My first grow was not a success at all so it’s really wonderful to see these doing so well. All of the 25 slots are filled with a decent size flower. I’m giving them lots of love, misting and small adjustments of ScroG/LST whilest working from home and in return they sure bring me a lot of joy. All leaves looking nice (strange that ones is wide and the other thin but it’s been like that since day 1) with exception of two leaves and I’m being watchful as they mature into flower. Leaves under lowest trellis have yellowed and died off as expected. I’ve also gotten rid as I’ve seen recommended of any bud development below the lowest level to concentrate growth above. That seems to have worked out. Thanks for reading!

A very good week for these precious plants, done with stretch and into bud development. This thickening up is something I didn’t see happen really with my first grow always picking at it and excessively defoliating. This time only a few leaves removed max with total focus on the two-tiered scrog, nothing allowed to grow under very low first tier and upper one providing good support and exposure to light, a little manipulation here and there. (There seem to be two schools of thought in scrog about allowing the undergrowth to develop or not for better flower concentration and I’ll trial no undergrowth this time). They’re about 8-9 inches tall above the first tier. Continuing to tuck rather than cut fan leaves with rare exception. On the conditions front, it was a hot and humid week outside. Plants stayed within parameters with a watchful eye on humidity. I accidentally added grow nutrients rather than flowering luckily so diluted as to not make a difference so far (who knows, maybe they appreciated a boost on that final stretch) then highly diluted flowering nutrients added. They seem to have forgiven the error. Totally happy with the progress so far, having learned a lot with the first overly anxious grow. It’s a delight to see real thick flowers developing with beautiful white pistols and dark green sugar leaves. Thanks for reading and all the best of your grows!

Looking strong and covered in white pistils. Definitely getting thicker after a week of good TLC, some experimenting with light distance (perhaps a bit too far away for a period) and nutrient load. To this day one plant has thinner and longer leaves and the other wider. Been like that since day 1. A good pH adjusted soak between nutrient bath. They seem happy though I’d really like to bring down the humidity from about 52-55 to closer to 45 over this week to avoid issues (can do so when I leave the room where the tent is open but then the fan sound is loud for rest of the house). Checking in on them every day, small adjustments to pull them apart using the scrog and just a few fan leaves removed, last ones for sure. Here’s to the final stages over the next 3 weeks! Thanks for reading!

Growth is very slow but steady on the flowers at this phase hardly noticeable from one day to the next but perhaps more so between weeks. Pistils are still primarily white, small signs of starting to darken, and trichomes on transparent, cloudy side. I’d read that WW take a bit longer so not holding my breath for a harvest before the next three weeks. I want them mature and am looking for calming effects not all speedy like my prematurely harvested first Widow grow. One nutrient watering this week and it looks like they could handle upping it a wee bit for this next week maybe the last one before a flush. I want them to get the maximum they need without jeopardizing their good health. Humidity is down to 45 much better than the previous week as high as 55. No more defoliation possible at this point. Each branch has its own healthy fan leaf for armor and to monitor overall plant health. Not touching those! Another satisfying week, changes much more subtle. A pleasure to watch plants mature and ripen in this way. Thank you for reading!

Another relatively slow growth week as the buds ripen slowly towards their completion over the next couple of weeks. They’re getting pH adjusted watering and flowering nutrients and humidity is down to 45 during the day (when I leave the door to the room open, otherwise lower 50s). A concern is how one of the plants with thinner leaves since the beginning isn’t taking the light as well as the other so I’ve tried raising it a bit the last couple of days though certainly too late. The leaves are more or less all yellow and dry on the thinner leaf one and light should have been further away for at least a week now. The flowers look consistent between the two so thinking the thinner leaves are in decent enough shape to make it to the end. The other one holding up fine. Reading about the controversy on flushing and its real utility I’m thinking about a final nutrient dose in the next days, plain watering and possibly a final boost rather than flushing. The leaves especially on the wider ones seem like they’re okay with it. I’m enjoying this grow so much getting to understand the plant cycle and how care through adjustments make a difference. Thank you for reading!

Incredible how one plant’s leaves are holding up so well with only very lowest dropping while the other with thin leaves is mostly yellow now. I suppose at week 9 it shouldn’t pose a problem. Flowers, all rather dense now, don’t seem impacted which is great. The lamp was clearly too close for a spell and I misted with water a few times—lesson learned. I’ve raised it to 42cms. Flowers getting dense with clear indication that trichomes are turning cloudy. I’m not seeing the famous frostiness of white widow. I read last night that reducing light to 8 hours for the last week will induce it so wondering if that something worth doing if it affects quality especially. Otherwise conditions seem to be good. Humidity still mid 40s though I don’t see many options to bring down to mid 30s as recommended. Perhaps one last nutrient dose in next couple of days then pH adjusted water to harvest. I’ll be checking the trichomes for amber every day to see when to give them 24-48 hours of darkness before harvest possibly next weekend. Getting close and glad to share these photos and diary with you. Any advice more than welcome. Thank you for reading!

Hi experts, 10 weeks in planning major harvest, took a few stems, all cloudy and leaving majority to allow full development to amber. Issue is in photo - is this bud rot??? Thought it was the remains of dried leaves at base. Thank you!

Budrot is hard to discover in the beginning, the plantmertial changes and gets softer, and brown, and it smells... if you open up the bud you will see it more clear........ from your Pictures its hard to tell if those buds are rotting I let you alink to better pictures If you have budrot.... no darkness for the ladies and aquick harvest, because rotting is very fast and it goes on during curing the buds So i you can confirm rot... cut the rotting bud and throw it away no keeping of parts of the bud........ it continues So iam hoping your Buds are fine... and here is the link https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/bud-rot

So here we are. Out of some concern about bud rot that may have been just clumped up dry leaves, I pulled it down well into its harvest window (I would have preferred a bit more amber). They were calling out to be harvested in either case. I’ve put the 3 oz of dried WW in jar for curing and will sample a small bit today for tasting purposes ;) I read after the fact that WW is a low producing strain and that seems to be the case. What seems like a bountiful plant looks less so once dried. Hoping for quality then! The citrus and fruity notes are so marked and I’ll update this later today once I’ve rolled and smoked one. Let’s say this was my first successful grow. It really distracted me during these trying times and now I have a supply for a good little while, a good thing as hard to find easily here in Switzerland. I’m super interested in seeing how the autos I’m also growing compare in final output. I learned a lot and learned a lot too from your diaries on here. Thank you for reading! (A week later I’ve got three jars curing and one for consuming. I’ve been smoking a good bit and will make some edibles this afternoon. I’m really happy with the effect, curious to see the difference with the the fully cured batch).
