I am trying some things in my latest small Outdoor Grow around the Equator. I started with 5 Plants in 2,5 Gal Pots with a simple Organic Soil Mixture from a private Gardener and Rain Water for watering them.
They were in Germination for around 12 Days because the Seeds were already really old and 2 of them from a pretty bad dried Cannabis and another from a Planation I could visit once. Sadly I lost my phone and with that all the pictures from the beginning.
Seedlings were put in between Toilet Paper and kept under high Humidity and konstant temperature the whole time in some small plastic containers.
I started the grow mainly just to see what happens because of the small time difference along the year close to the equator. I am pretty sure the plants more or less felt like 12-12 from Seed which you will be able to see in the coming Weeks of the Grow regarding Size of the plants. These Grow is my first "Fun Grow" meaning that I did not really invest a lot of time and maybe 5$ of Investment for everything together, it is not about increasing Yield etc, more a personal research to get to know more about the Plants.
Ciao
Do you guys think it will be possible to Grow tastefull Cannabis Flowers in my Area (close to the Equator ) and not having mold during Humidity Levels of 95%(Night) for the daily temperature diference of more than 10° Celsius a Day.
ACE Seeds has a good selection of landrace Sativas that might fit your needs. They also have several hybrids they claim have high mold resistance. Look for other companies that specialize in landrace strains that can tolerate the crazy environment you have.
Taking in consideration that I don't use any nutrients I think all of the Plants look healthy, just on that Pictures/Day I forgot to Water in the morning not expecting that much Sunlight so they were really tired.
Greetings
It was time to remove 2 Plants, 1 because she was a Male and the other one because of no more Growth and I just wanted to finish with 3 anyways. I had left 1 Sativa Landrace from Latinoamerica and 2x Indica/Hybrid Bagseeds.
In my Eyes all is looking really good, I am still just using Rain Water and no Nutrients. The only 2 "deficiencies" I could mention would be the small growth, mainly because of the just 13-14Hrs of light daily since they were Seeds but that is also part of my experiment and the purple sticks of the Sativa Landrace which in my opinion in this case in no Nutrient deficiency much more a part of the Genetic because all of the Plants I have seen of these have the same. Please tell me if am wrong and it is just a strain which needs a lot more of the Nutrient which brings up that deficiency .. I forgot the name, I am really sorry Guys 😅🙏
All the 3 Plants were already in Preflower so I made up my storage room outside to keep the Plants on a 12-12 Light/Darkness Cycle since them to prevent them to get back in to Veg and maybe even more because it is a room where the temperature is higher and in combination with a Fan that gives way less Humidity, which supposedly in the night should be around 50-60 during flower stage, than outside (95%).
Also I wanted to try to lay over the whole plant (still) during preflower to see what happens. I did not put a lot of effort in besides slowly prunning the stem, bending down the top but and removing some leaves with time to time. Please know that I am aware there is way better methods and times to do that but it is just for fun to figure out what is going to happen ✌️ also if something is wrong in information please feel free to correct me constantly 💚
The Plants came into the first real week(for me) of Flower and especialy the Sativa had a massive stretch in just one week.
The Indica NR.1 rehabilitated really well from the prunning and sadly low stress training was as good as not possible because of the shortness of the Budstems but I mainly wanted to figure out if the light distribution outside as well affects the Buds Qualilty&Size because scientifically there should be enough green Light outside which helps all the Light to get through the leaves to most - all of the buds.
All in all the Plants are good, I just have some small problems with white Flies and can not find any Niemoil here or any other solution but besides that I had to remove ome leaves it did not affect the plants at all.
Finally I could at least low stress train her a bit but not massively, anyways it was something nice to do along the day. Slowly she starts to smell like Citrus and building raisin(slowly).
Because of the extrem Defolitation/Schwazzing, which was more or less necessary regarding Humidtiy levels of of over 95% around evening night and morning. Even though I also did it for trying out how the Plants react. They mainly stopped growing Bud for 3-4 Days and the leaves of the Bud Sides got a bit Bigger. Also I had problems with NutBurn and Heat Burn, Nutburn because of my not constantly watered Pots which, I guess, ended up beeing a really salty and nutrient soaked(from the soil) substrate because they are reused Filters for Water out of clay. As well in midday it gets really hot and we are more than 3500ft over the sea level.
And why I grow in Clay Filters ? Just to try, in my opinion already not recommendable even though it keeps the Soil a bit cooler..
