Hello all, another wonderful week in my weed garden! We saw a fair bit of rain and some nice high temperatures. The girls have transitioned into stretch/preflower nicely!
Mostly cloudy and rain this week, they are a determined bunch considering the growth without much sun. I did my best with the video walk around, love being legal this year with four only!🤟
Two days of heavy rain, had onE branch snap From weight and another twisted and bent all the way to the ground without breaking! Tape for the break and propped up the twisted one. The gals are doing well, all fat white pistils Dumping lots of sugar, dropping to -1 Celsius tonight so I’m gonna cover with a poly painters tarp
Cool days and cold nights down to -4C one night -1 two others, I tarped them with a poly painters cloth and it did the trick, no frost damage! Fed once and watered once, I am going to feed one more time towards the weekend and start flushing!
Buds are getting very heavy, they started to lean over on their own then two days of rain, after that they were pointing north east south and west lol not upright, three branches have snapped but I managed to macgyver them by propping them up with a patio screen door and some old bed hardware! The whole next week looks wet so I will probably be adding a harvest post sooner than later
It was a typical autumn week in eastern Ontario cool days and cold nights, three days of rain and a hail storm, took my second royal gorilla today, first one is drying nicely and will be ready for curing in a few days or so, her sister taken today showed much more purple and smells allot more of skunk!! Both are very dense, and plentiful, hoping for appx 3 pounds per girl.
These girls took very well to lst and topping, I planted them appx six feet apart, but they ended up crowding each other out a bit, I have 1075.51 g from the first royal gorilla, the second is still drying, it seems denser than the first batch so will hopefully out weigh her sister
These plants spread more than I had hoped for in my wildest dreams, I had branches that were parallel to the ground for three feet yet still reached heights of six feet, this weed is more of a head hitter that gives me a boost, will provide an update once her sister is done drying. I am relatively happy with the crop of 1075.51 g, was hoping to beat my personal best but maybe her sis will do the trick! Will update soon! Sis is finished and came in at 1222.53g a record breaker for me!! Total of 2299.80 g from these two beautiful girls!
@Rap_a_cap,looking good bro, I’m in eastern Ontario and seem to be a couple weeks or more behind you, I’m expecting to harvest towards the second week of October
I'm also growing Gorilla but the Bomb cross from BombSeeds. I've had a problem with them "midgeting" on me finishing at bonzai 2 foot high bomb, potent but only an ounce per plant! Were popped along with the rest of the plants you see on my grow with the Girl Scout Cookie's leading the pack. I admire your pot size but my situation requires transportable pots. (12 gallon conical 30" H.) Yet these pots are producing the GSC's at over 8 feet tall! Looks like you trim just like I do. Any tips beyond the one brand of ferts you spec? For me the biggest new finds this year are: going organic, the power of human urine on veg, switching my guano from Nitro (insect eating bats) to Cavern Culture from fruit eating bats for better ingredient profile for flowering. Aloe Vera juice to help roots absorb water and stay cool in heat spells along with the kelp extract I was already using. Without the heat spell and wind damage this year has had the most promising results, no bugs and no disease yet.
@GDub51, thanks for the reply!
I have found my largest help to deal with heat and dry spells is a nice three inch layer of grass clippings as mulch, preferably green when u place it and you will receive the benefit of the nitrogen as a bonus! I have been using urine for years but people think I’m nuts when I say it so kudos to you bro! I use Epsom salts for root production, I toss some in the bottom of each hole when planting and water every other week at a tablespoon per gallon! Your girls are looking great also!!
I will be growing royal gorilla for the rest of my life I believe! Unless of course rqs somehow makes an improvement lmao! Now that I have an idea of how much space they will take up with the proper training I believe I can up my harvest considerably. These two crowded each other out that they were really only about two thirds of their potential
