Edit: I started with day 1 being the day i started the germination process. I have since learned that most people choose day one to be the day it is planted or even the day it emerges from the soil.
This is my first grow, I did very little research before I started, but am enjoying reading about it as I go. It may well lead to some mistakes, but supposedly this is quite a resilient strain and for my first ever grow it's more about the learning experience than maximizing my yield.
Started with a germination process I found online: placed in a cup of filtered water for 24 hours in a cupboard, followed by ~36 hours in damp tissue paper on a plate in a ziplock bag. It seemed to germinate well, had a slight curvature to it as seen in the photos.
I then planted it directly in a large pot (tbc pot size, i have no idea), about 2cm below the surface. Using a soil called "BIobizz all-mix", I read that light mixes are better if you want total control over nutrients, but a more complete mix like this is better for beginners.
Based on other journals I perhaps over watered it first day or so in the pot. Since then I have been spraying it with water and it seems to be enough. I keep a cut out bottle over it to create a greenhouse effect as we don't have super clear skies and not a lot of natural light.
After the first day in the soil i could see a tiny green leaf reach the surface. Now afer ~3 days it is about 2 cm. there is some curvature in the branch as the nature of my balcony means light all comes from some side. I assume that's not too much of an issue.
Honestly I have no idea about most of the grow condition metrics, I hope in later weeks I will be able to provide more information there.
Hi all, I am using bio-bizz all mix. Will I need to start adding nutrients to the soil? If so, what kind of nutrients and when? I've read that for autoflowers not too much is needed.
With autos I was using Biobizz light mix and didn’t start using nuits until week 3 and I could of easily waited to week 4 I would say you be ok whole way through veg utill week 5 with just a root booster but that just my preference on the root booster
I have been reading that drainage is very important. I am using a very large terracotta pot, which does not have drain holes. Would it be recommended to repot, drill holes in the bottom or should it be ok?
I'm hoping that as the pot is very large it shuold not be an issue
Heya Ramalo,
Yes you should be fine to drill some holes just be careful not to drop the plant! Something I would do...
But yes, drainage holes are recommended as cannabis like a wet/dry feeding cycle. You also want to try and water with 10-20% run-off. This helps significantly with root development and helps prevent root rot.
Cheers,
@@Athos, thanks. Turned out it was plastic at the bottom. I did manage to put a couple of small holes in, but nothing major. I will just be careful with watering as you suggested
