Week 6
Day 36 (18/09/2020):
I never have updates at the beginning of the week, she is doing well today although some of the leaves at the bottom are getting yellow and fall off by themselves. I guess it is because of them not being exposed to light but it might be something else as well so will have to keep an eye.
Day 37 (19/09/2020):
The girls all look really sad and wilting today but I am not late on the watering and the soil was still wet yesterday. I watered them with the normal BioGrow but I am starting to feel that something might be wrong. The temperature and humidity are fine but it seems that they wilt really easily and the leaves droop down quite a bit. I will need to research this more and investigate what is happening.
Day 38 (20/09/2020):
So it is definitely something to do with the watering of the girls that the leaves start to droop towards the time when they need to be watered. The girls are doing great today, and they definitely look happier than yesterday and the leaves are much perkier after being watered which is a good thing. I’m not sure what the problem is though, or if I am not watering enough. I think I am because I always get some run off and the soil does not take 2 days to get dry again so I don’t want to be overwatering either. Will see how it goes because maybe the girls do need more water because of how big they are getting.
Day 39 (21/09/2020):
The girls are doing good today although not that many updates. I did take some pictures of the yellowing leaves because I want to compare them in a few days to see how fast they are turning yellow since some of the big fan leaves are going yellow as well which could be a problem and I am just unable to tell what it is.
Day 40 (22/09/2020):
Today I first sprayed the girls with the Neem oil again just before lights off and turned the small fan off for an hour. The neem oil has definitely helped as I haven’t seen any flies for a while so it definitely is doing its job. I also watered the girls today and I got a comment on my last week’s diary from FreshCoastBudz who suggested that the damage on the leaves is not from the bugs or environmental factors but likely because of a calcium deficiency and the yellowing is likely because of nitrogen deficiency. So today when I watered I slightly decreased the BioGrow to 2ml for 1.5L and have given 1ml of BioBizz Calmag for 1.5L of water. I am really hoping this will help because I am still new and it is still hard to identify the problems on leaves. I also cut off the big fan leaves from yesterday’s pictures because they went completely yellow and don’t seem useful to the plant anymore.
Day 41 (23/09/2020):
FreshCoastBudz was really right, I think that they were not getting enough nutrients and nitrogen specifically because all the girls’ leaves are pointing up and I have never seen them this happy so the problem all this time was not to do with the water but to do with the feed (I feel a bit stupid trying to figure it out this whole week lol). Thank you FreshCoastBudz, I am really grateful for your suggestion and it makes complete sense!
Day 42 (24/09/2020):
I was saying earlier in the week that I haven’t seen flies recently but I did see one today so they are not completely gone so I will keep spraying the girls with neem oil for the next couple of weeks for sure. Because even if only one fly stays alive it can lay eggs for many more. But other than that, I think it was a great week and I am so happy I finally figured out the problem with why the girls’ leaves were wilting and yellowing at the bottom. I will see how they are before the feeding tomorrow and if they are looking sad again I will increase the dose because it seems that they might not have enough nutrients to last until the next feed.
Wow beautiful monster flowers. Makes me think I let too many smaller branches develop when I see such a concentrated and controlled grow like yours. Enjoy the results!
@Superjd, Thanks! I actually think I should have lollipopped and removed more of the smallest ones at the bottom to let the main buds grow even bigger. But they have just finished drying so will post a Harvest diary soon!
Thanks for sharing a new diary with one of our strains.
We hope you enjoy it :P
Once finished, with the final notes of the strains, you can ask us for more seeds to share another diary.
Sweet smokes!

Great grow so far!! Sweet Zkittlez is definitely a great strain, can’t wait to see your results!
Also, I don’t think that the damage is from gnats or any environmental factor. It appears to be a calmag deficiency on the brown splotchy damaged leaves. Lower leaves shouldn’t be yellowing this early, this typically tends to be a sign of a nitrogen deficiency. Sometimes PK deficiencies can look similar but its a little early for that.
A white widow I was growing showed almost identical signs and as soon as I gave her organic Calmag + more vegetative/grow phase nutrients she stopped showing signs of deficiency. I only grow organic as well so I use Root’s Organic CalMag since it is certified and OMRI listed.
FreshCoastBudz, Hey, thanks, that's really helpful! I had no idea what it was but CalMag deficiency actually makes a lot of sense because yesterday some of the fan leaves on her have been going yellow on the outside but still staying dark green in the centre I really wasn't sure what it was. Thanks for the help! I have some BioBizz CalMag which I got in case this happened so will use it at next watering with some more nitrogen as well and hopefully it helps! 😀
