Pheno Finders LEMON SHERBET
Nirvana GELATO, LITHIUM OG KUSH, TANGIE, ZKITTLEZ
5 seeds went in a paper towel on Aug 2. Popped in 48hrs. Planted in cups with 420/Ocean Forest Soil Mix and all 5 came up Aug 6.
Plants really starting to bush out after the initial toppings. The Gelato's fan leaves are turning over, not sure what kind of fun she's having. All in all, the girls are really happy and looking great. 3 more weeks until the flip!
Also wanted to mention that I do not feed during veg. The all natural soil mix is plenty for veg and the girls I think are showing that. I will top dress one week before 12/12 with Dr Earth Flower Girl Organic dry amendment, and again 3 weeks after the 12/12 flip. Those are the only 2 feedings the girls will ever get. I like simple. Party On.
Added a sprinkle of Mosquito Bits to each pot for fungus gnat control. Excited to see if this safe form of control is as effective as some seem to believe. In 7 days I'll reapply, but this time I'll dissolve them first and water it in, per experienced users' suggestions.
A lot of unplanned topping going on this week to manage the canopy. I'm beginning to understand that the space is going to be cramped and I'm up for the adventure of it.
Did some defoliation on day 26 and again on day 28, you can see it as the pictures progress this week. Very pleased with the grow thus far.
Did quite a bit more topping and defoliation on day 29. Always amazes me how quickly the plants bush out again. Leaving for 4 days and really drenched the girls. Expecting triple digit temps the next few days... Not too worried but I know they won't love it. I'll post more pics on my return.
Back after 4 days away and the plants are looking great. They've really put the growth back on and the 106 degree temps in the tent didn't seem to bother them much at all. About 10 days out from the switch to flower. Really enjoying these girls.
More topping and defoliation on day 34. I like to get a good look at how the plants are shaping up this way. I see 13-20 tops on each plant at this stage so I'm looking forward to a full canopy.
Day 35 brings week 5 to an end. Added a 2nd 1500w LED and removed the two 1000w LEDs. True watts in the tent is now 520 for 9 square feet, or 57watts per sq ft. I'm planning the flip to 12/12 in 7 days.
Also moved the pots around to even things out in the tent. The Zkittlez doesn't want to slow down.
Day 36 shows some good regrowth after the toppings and defoliation. The Lithium OG Kush and Gelato aren't responding to the toppings as well as I'd hoped, but they're still looking healthy and I'm excited to see them progress.
I soaked the Mosquito Bits in water and added that to each pot. So far I'm seeing less gnats but the jury is still out. I should know better within the next few days.
Day 37 and the gnats continue to be fewer. I think this stuff works. Defoliated again and turned some of the pots to get more light to certain areas. They're all looking healthy and green.
If I didnt already, I'm really enjoying this grow right now. The plants are shaping up nicely and I'm expecting some great smoke from these girls.
Day 41 and everything is going smooth. The gnats seemed to have picked back up again, I'll continue to monitor that. Otherwise I'm really happy with these girls. More defoliation and they've shaped up nicely for flower. One more day of veg and it'll be time to flip! Stay tuned...
Day 1 of 12/12 after a 42 day veg. Did some light defoliation and other than that I'm sitting back and enjoying the ride. Looking forward to watching the flowering phase over the next ~9 weeks.
Day 3/45 and things are looking great. I can see the Gelato got the message and the stretch is about to start. Not so worried about the Zkittlez creating an uneven canopy, I can always prop up the Lemon Sherbet.
Speaking of the Zkittlez, I got the first smell off her over the last two days. I don't know how but they nailed it with this strain. It is straight up a bag of Skittles no doubt about it. This is going to be fun.
Day 8/50. All 5 girls are showing the start of flower development and its looking good. I've been able to keep a relatively even canopy by propping up the Lemon Sherbet to keep pace with Zkittlez. Having 2 lights gives me some needed flexibility here with the differing growth rates.
The fungus gnats just wont go away. I've got sticky traps in each pot... I take them out for the photos. They're loaded with gnats and the cycle just keeps going. The Mosquito Bits have been a major disappointment, but the show goes on. I'll continue to manage them with the traps.
Day 10/52. The left side of the tent has Tangie up front and Gelato in the rear, with the Lithium OG Kush at center. Beginning to see what this canopy is going to look like and I like what I see.
The Lemon Sherbet at front right is sitting on a booster that you cant see, so it plays tricks on the eyes. She's even with the Zkittlez at back right. They're both not as bushy as the other three, but we've got a ways to go.
I fed with Dr Earth's Flower Girl organic dry amendment this week. To date, that is the only thing I've given them other than water. I may feed again at week 3, we'll see how things progress.
Day 13/55. Came home to find some awesome growth after 2 days away. I'll be leaving again soon and I always enjoy coming home to see the progress. The Gelato has taken off and become a much more robust plant than I was expecting from her start.
Looking forward to watching these girls put on some weight over the next 2 months.
Day 18/60. Came home from a weekend away and the plants are looking great. They really stretched, especially the Gelato at back left. Tent is filling out nicely.
Day 25/67. Love watching these girls progress through the flowering stage. They're all looking healthy and unique in their own way. Tonight I got the first big smell out of the tent when opening the door. I expect all the plants to really begin to put off their own scent from here forward. Can't wait to see what happens. Stay tuned.
Day 28/70. End of Week 4. The Gelato at back left is really starting to frost up. I'll get close ups of her on the next update. Tangie front left is starting to show her citrus terpenes and she smells delicious. Really loving this grow.
Day 32/74. The Zkittlez and Lemon Sherbet aren't developing as quickly as the other three girls, but I'm pleased nonetheless. I've included a pic of the Gelato up close, and she's starting to frost up. Lithium OG Kush might be the biggest producer if things continue like this. And the Tangie is packed with tops, and has that crisp citrus going on.
Day 34/76. I moved the Lemon Sherbet to the center of the tent. I'll probably do the same with the Zkittlez in a couple of weeks as they both could use the extra light.
Day 39/81. Returned from another few days away from the plants. When I opened the tent I was greeted by the most wonderful aromas of citrus, sweet floral and cream. What a pleasure this grow has been.
Day 40/82. Added Dr Earth Flower Girl organic dry amendment and scratched it into the top one or two inches of soil. I'm still unsure if this will be the last feed they get. Love the simplicity of growing this way.
Day 42/84. The end of week 6 and the plants are looking healthy and happy. This is my first run with 5 plants in a 3x3 and the space and lighting are rewarding me with some great looking buds. Not sure yet who the winner of this group is but I cant wait to find out.
Day 43/85. Enjoyed some Northern Lights tonight from my spring grow harvested in July. She's a tasty smoke with a relaxing effect. I hope one of these five sisters provides me with something extra special. I'm so grateful to all the wonderful breeders out there who give us these dope strains.
Day 46/88. The Tangie and Zkittlez are creating my favorite aromas right now. Crisp citrus and bagged up skittles candy. I'll get to stagger the harvest as I have another tent empty to hang up the plants. I dont want to have to take any of them down early and so I'm glad I dont have to. Five more seedlings await this flower tent but that's weeks away. If I need to take any of these to 12 weeks I can do that comfortably with the current scheduling. Right now I'm watering every 3-4 days.
Day 47/89. Pulled out the plants to get individual pics of each. The Gelato is flopping all over the place as she can no longer hold her weight. I moved her to the middle of the tent and she's now supported by everyone. If you look closely, you can see that all of her flowers are turning purple beneath those white pistols. Cant wait to see how she turns out.
Day 50/92. It seems that almost overnight the Gelato and Lemon Sherbet kicked their terpenes into overdrive. And the Lemon Sherbet's frost is so soft, as if to mimic the delicate frozen treat. Im ready for these to finish so I can enjoy the fruits of this labor. Should be at least a few more weeks until one of these five are ready.
Day 53/95. The Gelato got staked today. She needs the support. Other than that things are on cruise control for now.
Day 57/99. The Tangie and Gelato look like they're starting to want to finish. They both look so tasty I cant stop staring at them. Lemon Sherbet is out of this world I swear I want to eat her flowers. Lithium OG Kush is an interesting plant. Not frosty at all until you take a look behind all those orange pistols. Zkittlez just keeps on pumping out that candy smell. This is gonna be good👍🏾
Day 58/100. Hit the century mark today. Staked the Zkittlez and moved the plants around to find the right fit. I think the canopy is looking pretty good. I have room left so I could push the plants another week in veg in future grows. Or maybe add a sixth plant. We'll see. For now Im just enjoying the show.
Day 60/102. The Lemon Sherbert fattened up seemingly overnight. Really loving this plant right now. Her pistils are starting to turn so it'll be harvest time in the next few weeks.
Day 63/105. This Gelato is a beautiful plant. So frosty and that purple hue looks nice. That finishes week 9 of flower. Tentatively set to harvest the Gelato at a full 10 weeks.
Day 64/106. Starting week 10 and its almost chop time for the Gelato, Lithium OG Kush and Tangie. The Gelato will likely come down first at the end of the week. Tangie and Lithium OG Kush won't be far behind. Lemon Sherbert is getting there... hoping no longer than a week 12 flower. Zkittlez is taking her sweet time.
Day 68/110. In the last few days all five of these girls have ripened. I'm now thinking I may harvest all five next week, at the end of week 11. We'll see if they cooperate. Either way I'm excited for the upcoming harvest 👍🏾
Day 74/116. Harvest day is only 3 days away. I'll be chopping at a full 11 weeks in flower. The branches will be hung to dry with only the sugar leaf remaining. Then on to a dry trim 7-10 days later.
Day 75/117. Lights out💤
Day 77/119. All 5 plants got the chop today. They're on hangers in the tent and I'll be controlling the humidity, aiming for 55-65%. About ten more days and I'll get to sample these girls. Its been an awesome grow, really pleased with these genetics. And the health of these plants was steady start to finish. So this one is done👍🏾 Stay tuned for bud shots after the trim.
Day 3 Drying. Humidity has been 55-67% over these 3 days. I check on things every few hours and make small adjustments to the vents on the tent as needed. My garage smells insane🤤 Starting my finger stretches now for next weeks trimming.
Day 6 Drying. Stems are still folding and I'm guessing 3 more days until they're ready. Humidity steady at 53-68%.
Day 8 Drying. Humidity has been ~57% over these last two days. Getting closer, I'm expecting to be trimming in the next couple days.
Day 11 Drying. The flowers are looking beautiful and they're so close to completing the drying phase. I'm thrilled to be trimming this group.
-The Lemon Sherbert has maintained her soft yet robust aroma and each time I open the tent I can easily pick her out. She may end up as the lightest yield but her fragrance has won my affection. Soft cream, sweet lemon and rose is just perfection. This Pheno Finder seed has me impressed.
-Zkittlez just PUMPS out that candy smell.
-I've been less than impressed with the Lithium OG Kush, but today I gave a squeeze to one of her flowers and she stinks delicious. Idk what happened but this plant has me rethinking whether I'm going to enjoy smoking her. Lemon and Fuel with some sweet and sour funk.
-Gelato's flowers are beautiful. I'll probably trim her first because I'm so anxious to see what she looks like manicured and dry. Nice dusting of trichomes on this one.
-Tangie is a crisp, citrus burst.
Day 13 Drying. Any day now🤤 I sound like a broken record. Growing cannabis sure is an exercise in patience.
Day 14 Drying. The Gelato and Lithium OG Kush are finally ready for their dry trim. I'm hoping I'll have all five plants trimmed and weighed by the end of the week 👍🏾
Day 17 Drying. They were NOT ready. Tomorrow is the day. This run took about twice the time to dry as my last run. I made it a point to let my plants dry out in their pots on the last run before harvest. This time around the pots were still heavy with water. Lesson learned.
Day 20 Drying. All five plants were trimmed today and the buds are now curing in mason jars with 62% Boveda Packs. The Lemon Sherbert got 58% Boveda Packs to test. I only harvested the tops and choicest buds. Everything else is going to a friend for concentrates. So in the end this harvest didn't yield too heavy, but I'm very pleased with the quality. I'll weigh them in the next few days and post it here.

I harvested 49g of the STICKIEST buds I have ever grown. This Gelato after twenty days drying and eight days curing has become wonderfully creamy, soft and rosy with a delicious mint tone. And damn does she hit hard! I'll update this one after a few more weeks, but yeah I'm in love.
Update: The Gelato has been curing for three weeks in mason jars with 58% Boveda packs. This flower is beautiful, and the frosty purple hues make for nice bag appeal.
Smoking Gelato brings with it the floral and mint notes, and its creamy on the exhale. The effect is hard hitting and not for lightweights. I smoked too much during my first experince with this flower and I paid the price with heavy anxiety. One Ashwagandha capsule later and I was feeling much better. Be careful with this one as she's a knockout. Her effect can be pleasantly uplifting with the right dosage.
Of the five strains grown in this journal, the Gelato is the winner of the group. I can't change my initial rating, but she's a 9/10 for me. This is the first plant I've grown with such a wonderful floral aroma and I hope she's not the last. Excellent strain from Nirvana.
The Lemon Sherbert has been curing for three weeks in Mason jars with 58% Boveda packs. Time has allowed this flower to soften into a wonderfully fragrant lemon frosting that melts the mind. I wish I'd harvested more of this plant to share with friends. I'll probably be stingy with this one. 9/10 for me on the Lemon Sherbert from Pheno Finder.
The Lithium OG Kush has been curing for three weeks in mason Jars with 58% Boveda packs. This is the most underwhelming flower of the group, though it isn't unpleasant by any means.
Upon opening the jar, I'm met with an earthy black tea aroma thats mild and unoffensive. But it isn't particularly delicious either, and so its just not for me. The smoke is mild, as is the effect. I can't change my rating on this strain, but it is a true 6/10 for me on the Lithium OG Kush from Nirvana.
The Zkittlez has been curing for three weeks in mason jars with 58% Boveda packs. This flower is beautiful with a subtly-rich purple hue that speaks to its candy heritage. Opening the jar, I'm met with a funk that isn't really candy and isn't really sweet. But after putting her through the grinder, that bag-of-candy aroma explodes.
I had such high hopes for this plant early on because she smelled like a bag of candy before she ever even flowered. But the smell isn't truly there until you prepare her for smoking. Once you do, the high is mellow and relaxing, and any level of smoker could enjoy her. I recommend this strain for any lightweights out there like me, or anyone who's looking for a fun and delicious strain to experience.
I cannot update my rating on this strain, but its a true 8/10 for me on Zkittlez from Nirvana.
The Tangie has been curing for three weeks in Mason jars with 58% Boveda packs. This plant was beautiful with an even canopy and spear shaped flowers reeking of greasy citrus.
When opening the jar, the smell is undeniably citrus. I'd prefer a sweeter pheno but this is hardly a complaint. The Tangie smokes smooth and the effect is clear, with orange coughdrop on the pallette. Its nice and I enjoy it, though not my best. I give this Tangie an 8/10 from Nirvana.
