Germination

The first attempt got me a sprouted seed in the towel. It died in the seedling pot, apparently, and never broke the surface. I was disappointed. The next one sprouted in the towel overnight. I let it stretch over the holiday. The tap root was over an inch long when I planted it into plain Roots Organic Original soil in a seedling pot.

This baby is a fast one. Soooooo much faster than FastBuds' LSD-25 I finished last month. Look at the photos. Those stages are mere days apart, not weeks. I was able to transplant from the seedling pot only six days after sprouting. I have her in Roots Organic Original with Nature's Living Soil concentrate, a water-only grow method. I will give her no nutrients at all until it looks like the microbes are getting tired, at which time I will top dress with more concentrate and soak the soil with molasses water. I also use an organic potassium booster if necessary.

She's growing like spray foam. Unreal. I topped halfway through the week already, and she didn't even notice. She just kept going, forming two perfect spots for main colas. The plant structure is forming a nice sphere shape so far. I expect to tie down side branches soon.

Great color, skunky odor, fast stretching. Overall excellent growth. Can you believe this plant is only in its fourth week? The two colas that are emerging from the topping two weeks ago are starting to bunch up it’s nodes at the new growth sites like all my autos do just before they flower. No sign of pistils just yet. Still no feeding, and it shouldn’t need anything extra in the living soil. This baby has had nothing but water and two light molasses doses to feed the microbes.

This is a compact plant, not like the big stretchers I’ve had in the autoflower tent this past year. The flowers are petite at this early stage. The Nature’s Living Soil concentrate is carrying her well. I’ve only fed some occasional molasses, but probably need to top dress with more NLS and add some potassium booster. The smell is fresh and skinny in the room. Overall a very easy plant.

Easy plant. Lots of spreading out this past week. Still seems a bit delicate, though. Everything about this plant is petite. It’s pretty and smells nice, and doesn’t need much fuss. Nothing but water in this one with its living soil, so it can’t be much easier.

I was bad at getting photos. Too distracted by the Malawi that’s finishing up. This one is still a petite, lovely plant. It doesn’t ask for much. It’s not a voracious feeder, so it gets its two liters of water a day with occasional molasses or potassium boosts. It’s going quickly.

I was bad at getting photos this week. Again. Too distracted by the Malawi that harvested this past week. She is still the petite, lovely plant she’s been all along, though showing the need for more potassium and CalMag. It doesn’t ask for much. Two liters of water a day with occasional molasses or potassium boosts. The colas are fattening up well. It is not going to be a high yielder, but certainly a pretty one.

Not much to say. We’re in the final week or two. Pistils are turning orange. Flecks of purple leaf in the flowers. Buds fattening slowly. This plant never got very big. The yield will be light, I suspect. It’s pretty, smells nice, and easy to grow. It’a all about waiting now.
