Things have been going alright, plants were started in jiffy pellets , at the end of this week I have begun planting the jiffy pellets into the hydroton/net pots, under a 200 watt fluorescent light . They have been receiving only water, and the GH nutrients have been added to the reservoir.
The bigger plant on the left is the Girl scout cookies which I believe was purchased from seedsman seeds, it was gifted to me from a friend.
And the AK is from Canuk seeds, I received it as a freebie.
Nothing much to report, I have ordered myself two new LED lights, mars hydro ts1000 and tsw2000. Waiting for the roots to hit the water solution so that they begin really growing fast:)
The roots have finally reached rhrhe water and these girls are growing FAST. The photos from last week and this weeks log are 9 days apart, but the growth has really amazed me . Plants are looking lush green and healthy :)
I've been away and my wife has been taking care of these girls, here are photos from the end of week 6. These girls have EXPLODED in the last two weeks , they are getting so tall and bushy.
After week 4 I have switched from a 200 watt fluorescent to a 150 watt ts1000 full spectrum white LED from mars hydro, and the growth since then has been phenomenal.
First time using an LED and they are WAY better than fluorescent :)
I dont have any photos from week 7 as I have yet again been away from home, but here in week 8 of veg the plants are doing great :)
The GSC is way ahead of the AK. The light positioning was bad, and my wife did not have the means to fix it whilst i was away, so for the last 2 weeks the GSC has been receiving most of the light, so it has outgrown the AK by about 8 inches.
We have noticed that that the GSC has always seemed much happier than the AK even before the light differences between the two.
I also recently installed a 400CFM windking inline fan and Phat carbon filter, to help keep temps and smell in check :)
The roots are getting huge and also looking pretty healthy if you ask me :) if they look discolored, its because I am using a bacillus healthy bacteria nutrient called RootBuilder from greenplanet nutrients, to help prevent root rot from higher than normal reservoir temps. On average they have been in the mid to high 70's recently.
So far it's been working amazing, no root issues whatsoever
I have finally begun some LST on the GSC
I know I am really late beginning it, but I have been away a lot since this grow has begun, and my wife did not have any growing experience prior to helping me with these two girls, and I was still unsure about how to do LST in hydroponic buckets.
After doing plenty of research online, I could not find much of anything about ideas pertaining to LST with hydroponics .
So I had a great idea of gorilla glueing eyelet hooks to the top of my bucket lid, then put twist ties around the branches, tied fishing line to the twist ties down to the eyelet hooks and it's been working great :D
Did some more LST and selective defoliation , the AK is still much smaller than the girl scout cookies but they are both looking very healthy and doing great :)
Will be flipping flower very soon
This will be my last week of veg and I will be flipping to flower next week
It was getting much too crowded in my 3.5X5.5 'closet , soi decided to move the AK into my 3X3 tent .
I have put the AK under the 150 watt TS1000 LED
And the GSC is now under the 300 watt TSW2000 LED and they are loving having they're own space and light :)
Gave the AK a small defoliation
I will be flipping into flower in exactly 1 week from today ! :)
The plants are doing excellent!
It has been a week since I have flipped these girls to flower, and i am noticing many budsites forming on the GSC, but the AK not so many yet.
The gsc is now 4 feet wide :D she is a beast and now that I've tried hydroponics, I dont think i could ever return to soil indoors. I find it much easier to maintain and the growth rate is exponetionally faster. Soil vs hydroppnics is night and day IMO.
The gsc is drinking right around a gallon a day! I literally have to top her up every single day, today I checked on her and she only had about 1/10th of a bucket of water left lmao, close call!
I'm really hoping to hit somewhere near 1G per watt with this grow, with the gsc it would put me at 10 oz, and the AK 5oz. But I would be very happy with 10oz total from the two plants.
Wish me luck guys :)
The plants are just finishing up they're second week of flower and are doing great. I only took photos of the one plant this week so I apologize ahead of time.
The gsc has budsites forming EVERYWHERE and I'm loving it :)
I've been continuing to selective defoliate, with a tad bit of LST and I have also removed a bunch of the lower budsites by doing some light lollipopping.
This is my first indoor photoperiod grow/second indoor grow of all time and I'm pretty happy with the results thus far as this is my first hydroponic grow ever :)
