Starting these plants for a friend while they get a quick small grow set up I'll probably only house them for 3 weeks but plan on following through with them.
Strain is called "Teenage Wedding". I got the seeds from a good buddy but all I know is "They're from the best grower I know, and they're feminised" so heres hoping!
The strain is a cross between Highschool sweet heart and Wedding Cake. I think it may be an auto flower.. but waiting to hear back for sure. Not too worried its all a learning curve and I'll find out soon enough any how. Try to be the optimist.
17/09 - Starting soaking seeds in warm water around 7 pm tonight.
18/09 - Moved seeds to paper towel in baggy on a heat mat. Started prepping my solo cups.
Solo cup blend - fill to top 2" with a mix of ProMix Herb/Veg, 1 tbs ProMix bone meal, 1/4 cup pearlite.
19/09 - Nothing exciting, soil is still quite damp no misting.
19/09 -
Then ill top off the top 2 inches with a mix of 50/50 vermicompost and peat moss and some more pearlite. Trying a different way than last, hopping for the best haha.
19/09 - Came home today to see the tiniest little tap roots sprouted. Decided to move them to the soil right away instead of waiting for them to get a bit bigger. moved into my solo cups as planned with the top two inches being peat moss/vermicompost and some pearlite. Covered the cups with saran wrap loosely for now and under a dim blurple LED.
20/09 - No change, last night I took off the saran wrap and put cups on them incase they sprouted into the plastic.. and I knocked over the cup on the right, the seed didnt come out it was still laying on top in the cup , and the root had gotten longer! .. But I was feeling dumb.
21/09 - Still no neckin.
They changed their minds, one has its cotyledons showing and the others stem is necking.
22/09 - Both are showing their cotelydons this morning so today will be the official day 1.
24/09 - Girls are about an inch tall now first tiny true leaves showing.
27/09 - A little taller, probably want to move them under more than the 40 watts they are currently getting soon.
29/09 - They are looking a little small for 7 Days old to me, ive been putting them in my tent with the larger lights for half the day today and yesterday.
30/09 - Moved them into a different box ive been putting off getting put together, underneath a 23w 2700k bulb each right now. Will add some more light today.
01/10 - Put the girls out doors for some sun today it was nice and not too much wind.
06/10 - about 100 ml water each with a tiny about of veg nutes (left overs in a bag from a buddy when i started, forget the brand haha)
07/10 - No water looking good, about time to transplant I think.
08/10 - looking the same, leaves past the edge of solo cups. Really should switch containers.
09/10 - Need to get them indoors, been very cold over night pretty sure thats why they are so tiny still.
10/10 - Watered today with a tit bit of the same veg nutes, have to remember to find the name haha. Moved them into bigger pots, 1 Gal fabrics, used soil that had had been mixed up for veggies that got pulled early. Mix of worm casting promix herb/veg, perlite, peat moss and ProMix bonemeal.
17/10 - Didnt give too much water, every 3rd day or so. I had them outside yesterday in the nice sun and they ended up getting a little rain later in the day, looking very happy. Seem to be getting girthier to make up for the lack of height.
19/10 - Moved them inside today, had about 200 ml water each, none yesterday.
20/10 - Girls are looking good, one of them is really quite stocky for her height. Gave about 200ml of Water each today with a splash of maryphyl phytoplankton.
25/10 - They have exploded it in height this week, 3 inches of growth in the last 3 days. I had been pretty sure they werent autos at this point but now I am also seeing clear signs of sex and they seem young for that. So maybe this is the start of flowering stretch? Ive never grown an auto before, this is only my 2nd indoor grow at this point. They had 16 hrs light only last two days because I had some issues with light leak into my flower tent and didnt want to risk having their lights on while I wasnt home to check.
28/10 - Dropped the shelf in the tv stand so they are 6 inches from lights again, i see clear signs of sex now so pretty confused, seems to long to start flower for an auto, but maybe just a slow girl, doubled height last week so that seems like a flowering stretch to me haha
29/10 - 1/2 inch growth last night, slowing down I think. about 200 ml each today
02/11 - Gave them a top dress of about a cup of worm castings each (left overs from some veggie seed germinating I was doing) They seem to be happier than I thought possible in such small pots and they are going to stay there. definite baby buds starting on the tops now so we have for sure the start of flower coming:) Harvesting my photo periods this week early so I can get the tent empty as quick as possible for them, unfortunately I need to dry my flower in my tent as well. Theyve slowed to about 1/2 inch growth a day , sitting around 13 inch today.
Been busy as hell with work to keep up with pictures but girls are growing happily, had to remove the shelf completely this week because one ended up stretching into the light and actually touching it. hopefully should be into the tent in the next 3 days or so.
As of 08/11 17.5 inches tall on the largest 16.5 on the smaller, been getting just water all week, covered the tops of their little pots with trim leaves for mulch to keep as much water as possible in there, giving about 150 ml a day now.
Also finally added a floor fan to give them a bit of air movement.
10/11 - Moved them into the tent finally yesterday after clearing out what had been drying. Girls are looking healthy, the one in the front is 20 inches tall after the first day under good light, i didnt measure yesterday (whoops) but the day before she was 17.5 so Im pretty surprised, I thought the stretch was done. The one in the back is a bit shorter at 18, and was 16.5 day before.
Been just feeding mainly water and adding a splash of phytoplankton every few days.
12/11 - Height seems to have leveled out again, maybe just adjusting to the new lighting. Things are looking good, fed with bat guano, maryphly and NPK bloom microbes yesterday 1/tsp of each in 250 ml of water. Heavy little pots today so going to slow down on the water for today, noticed some mites but with my leaf mulch not surprised, they seem content to eat them and leave my plants alone. Might start bottom watering to dry out the top layer though.
16/11 - Theyve gotten very purple stems and stalk the last three days. Added a topdress of 4tsp ProMix organic tomatoe fert and hoping that will help, not overly worried though they still look sturdy and green enough in the leaves to me,
17/11 - Girl have been getting about 100-200 ml of water every day, they dry out quick in the small pots. Not planning on changing much other than the veggies sneaking in there too hang out. Hoping for the best with my first Autos.
24/11 let them dry out for 3 days , feel like I had been over watering. then fed today with a small amount of 10-15-10 fert, i think the pots are too small for them to really be getting everything from just the organics, whoops haha. things are looking stable anyway even if they don't look like they will produce very well.
26/11 - plain water today, no water yesterday. Not much in the way of changes
28/11 - skipped a day watering again, this is the usual now gave 250ml each today with a lil seaweed juice.
7/12 - Was slack on keeping track of things the last two weeks, but have been watering every second day with ~ 250 each, gave seaweed juice in feeding once this week. I didnt do any real defoliation on them since they were autos , leaves have been slowly falling off but i'm kind of just watching things happen with these girls and not worrying to much about it. Taking the chance to see how the plant goes if I just kind of let it be.
Overall Im actually okay with how things are going, despite the my worries the buds do seem to be thickening out a lot more this last week and I think theyre going to make it, live and learn.
Water every second day , leaves keep falling but they are chugging along, seaweed juice on second feed this week, may give a shot of nutes, but I might just keep riding it out.
Taller plant is 26 inch, shorter plant is 22.
14/12 - Fed 400 ml each with seaweed juice last night, still going steady the same.
20/12 - No water after feed till 17th, then no water till today, the smell is much stronger coming into the end of this week. Happy with my small things haha.
The buds are pretty loose and fluffy plants didnt get very big, but seeing as I thought I was growing photos that turned out to be autos I put the blame on me not the genetics haha, they ended up stuck in 1 gal pots and I dont have the synthetic nutes to make that work. all said and done they survived all my neglect and Im happy to get the little bit out of them again, will for sure pop the other 4 seeds I have knowing more what im going into and giving them a fair try.
Poor girls stuck in 1 gallon pots with only organic nutes to try and eat from, but they made it through! i think I should have harvested about 2 weeks ago, I feel like they got much less dense in the last little bit, but I didnt have the tent yet to dry them. Overall it was still kind of nice to sit back and watch the plant do its thing, as sick as it got it gives me hope that this plant is very hard to kill if you're willing to follow through. Will be growing again at some point to give a fair shot.
Have yet to taste them , letting them dry trimmed for another day and then jaring them up. Since its a very small harvest going to try and hold of trying as long as possible but will update when I do!
