Removing the affected parts is your best option to stopping the spread, but you will have to be vigilant for any more rot developing from spores already dropped. Keeping your plant dry is the only way to prevent mould, so getting them wet during the day and drying them at night is not going to work.
Look for sudden and random dead leaves in amongst the buds as often this is the first sign that mould is developing within the bud.
But yeah, keeping them dry at all times is the only way to limit moulds and/or fungus from devouring your plant.
